Love the Thriftmaster Derelict series always have done. The attention to detail is outstanding along with the belief that it’s kept as original looking as possible. I’m not a “Captain bling” kinda guy so this would definitely suit me down to a tee. 👍🏻
Awesome product I learned to drive and shift in Grandpa Hector’s 1947 . It’s still out in his barn, he passed away in the mid ‘70’s , he left it to his son Jim and then to Jim’s son Barry. Nope they won’t even hear my offer. Probably a good thing as now I’m battling cancer and can’t even think about the labour and work to give it the Icon treatment. I had to sell my shop and equipment, so I’m sol for a build like this. Thanks , I appreciate your dedication to quality work!
Man I feel your pain .Frustrating dealing with all of that and not being able to do simple things. Car has been sitting for 2 yrs too painful (and broke) to do anything. Heres to recovery buddy. Chin up!
Make a door jamb badge to go between the hinges and style it to look like the old oil change stickers. The truck is awesome. My favorite of all the ones you make.
Wow WOW !!! ( to me ).. THIS !!!! is the BEST TR. Yet.. AND ( its a 6sp !!! )... I know everyone does Not love Patina ?? But i sure do AND ?? IT'S A TRUCK.. So you can haul things in it.. and not worry about a lil scratch.. and like you said.. It's basically a Race Car with a Farm Truck bolted to it..... LOVE LOVE IT.
Dont like rust...old faded original paint jobs I totally dig . Finally spent lots on paint and love it but understand this look also. Do like nice presentable interiors and a detailed undercarriage. Why I dont know it just grabs the eye.
The build # tag idea seems good, but the 3D printed plastic does not appear up to the same level of material execution as the rest of the truck. Someone else here said the tag could be distressed leather, or copper and I agree. Or it could be some other up-market material. Otherwise a great looking truck.
Hey Icon! I'm a fan. The details and this explained videos are great!.. @6:39 The identification tag is awesome, BUT if you guys can add a barcode/QRcode on the identification tag that have the information of the build (a page with the youtube video, the customer's story, etc)... THAT is a game changer!...Blessings to all!
Perfection! Soon as I win the lottery, I'm calling in my order. Move the 3-D printing TR tags down onto the body between the door hinges. They shouldn't be in the eye-line of folks getting in to the truck.
The Icon Derelicts are my favorites. So much development and high performance under an old vehicle, it's simply great. Thanks for sharing. Greetings from Córdoba, Argentina!
“Where is the lizard?”🧐 Several yrs back now I found one on a bronco (“reformer?”) White and black……so impressive!!!! It was parked in front of our local restaurant named “lounging Lizard” SWCO! Icon lizard @ lounging lizard really tickled my brain……Very Iconic scene 😉!
Pretty nifty. I'm fascinated by dashboards and instrumentation, and you have a slam-dunk, again, with this one. It always seems odd to me that the cargo box is so small. Why didn't GM bring the rim up to the level of the window sills, because the truck looks like it's all cab and hood, and the box in back looks out of scale to me. But that's not you -- you continue to impress with all those thoughtful, tasteful features and extra touches. So, Bravo, Jonathan. In today's world, ostentation attracts too much attention, sometimes from the wrong people, and nothing beats an old beater.
Your Thriftmaster Derelicts are my favourite ICON vehicles and I always enjoy a video of a new, (old), one. Great work as always. (I'm not a fan of the A pillar badges though!). Thanks for sharing your latest Thriftmaster creation.
I'm envious. I've heard the company that makes those derelict type trucks wants $200,000.00. A bit much for me. But, if I had the money, I'd be really tempted.
I will state this Mr. Ward you'll make one of a heck salesman for your builds you leave no stone unturned and no sales tactics if anything you give honest.opinions and recommendations
A restaurant near me has a similar truck as a type of billboard out front. Looked awesome 25 years ago, but they did little to protect it and now all the tires are flat and it’s rotting away. Went from “wow” to “sad.”
I was looking at a 54 three window 3600 in Nebraska a couple of weeks ago. The only rust I found was a little in the passenger footwell. Patina was gorgeous. I almost pulled the trigger to buy, but have too many irons in the fire at the moment.
Another work of art by Jonathan and the gang... Have you offended and Rolls Royce owners lately? I hope to be the next.. Jonathan you take care my friend and God Bless...
One question on these derelict's here in Arizona any car 1966 and older is exempt from emission testing, my question are these old cars you sup up exempt as well or because of the modern equipment do they have to pass emissions testing?
What a beautiful truck, 100% class! I have a restored 67 c10 LT swapped/8 speed, lowered restomod. I’m running CPP tubular a arms, OEM steering linkage with a Borgersen quick ratio steering box and solid steering shaft (u joints, no rag joint). Yet I still have a lot of steering slop and find myself chasing the car on rougher roads. What can I do to upgrade my steering so that it matches the performance of the drivetrain? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Mixed feelings on rust. Id blast paint and detail the underbelly and chassis...maybe fix any real rust and sand the rest til its minimized..then flat clear (glossy dont look right) Would still paint it when I got sick of it. Glad he did the interior, not a fan of old ratty ones. Seats are gorgeous.
A truck after my own heart. What if the center armrest were inspired by the 1931 Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso watch, two cup holders on one side, spin it 180 and smooth upholstered comfort on the other.
I apologize but I have to ask. Where can I buy that folding bench seat you were sitting on in front of the truck. Please don’t tell me you made it yourself.
all the chrome still needs to be stripped and triple dipped and there's still a little rust that should be stopped in the tailgate area. other than that, she's perfect
90 mph on the freeway he stated, well first of all, Most vehicles are going to make noise at higher speeds but the most important thing is that's BREAKING the LAW and should be reported to law enforcement.. .
Difference between automatic & standards version standard you can peel out more. My opinion automatic a lot safer just use synthetic transmission fluid Mobil one synthetic transmission fluid. And depending how much prevented maintenance an high quality external transmission cooler
Buts it’s not an EV , you’ll be out of compliance in California in 2035. 😂😂 Seriously, nice work, with all the paint and ceramic coating it seems like it will last for decades. How much does that truck cost? Given the collectors value of the old truck, rare, and all the modern work, it’s hard to guess. Well she is not EMP proof, for being a simple truck, what are all of the electronics needed for behind the seats? Beautiful work , I bet it feels good to drive and further more drive as a daily driver.
The # tag is not lame, but I would put it in the engine bay and label it for what it is. WTF does #?? mean? Thinking of the guy 25-30 years from now looking at it.
What a beauty! Park this in a shopping center and nobody will park near you. :)
Actually that's the beauty of patina, it can get dented, dings, scratches etc and you would never know and it adds to the charm and character.
Rust and patina never look so good, love all the derelicts ❤
Love the Derelict's , something Bad ass you can drive every day and nobody bothers you😎
I have so much respect for the designers and craftsmen who created this beauty. 👍
@@MDchaz thank you so much. I’ll share that with the team!
Best Derelict TR you've done so far.
The build # tag might look better to me personally in distressed leather or brass, copper 🤔
@@Sinjin.S I’ve been wanting to do one with copper plated trim
@ICON4x4Design Cooper would fit well with any vintage ride to my mind, but the shape of the tag could be interesting to consider, too 😉

LUST-WORTHY! Thanks for the effort and the sharing. It is always a joy to watch one of your ICON YT vids. Thumbs up.👍🏼

Fantastic idea
Absolutely love the Derelicts. Pinnacle of automotive vibes. I dream of owning one some day.

Wish I still had my 63 Chevy Pickup. Nice resto work🤙
Sir, that is a work of art. Love it!
Had to do a double take... that looks so much like what I had in highschool! Mine was not a 5 window tho. Great work as always.
Great truck, I learned to drive in my dads 54 chevy truck.
The Icon Derelicts are my favorites.

Greetings from Córdoba, Argentina!
Amazing to me I like your vehicles and clothing lol👍👍👍👍👍
The broncos are cool. The FJs are cool. But the Thriftmasters are the best thing you guys do.
Two words: freakin’ amazing!
Thank You Jesus Keep on Trucking MaMa...🇺🇸🙏🏼
The hood ornament is from a 1950 Chevrolet. It was an original accessory. You can purchase one from chevs of the 40’s.
CORRECT
As per usual. Job fantastic
“Where is the lizard?”🧐

White and black……so impressive!!!!
It was parked in front of our local restaurant named “lounging Lizard” SWCO!

What was stated is exactly what I was thinking before viewing the video."A new car disguised as an old bomb".
2:02 Amen and hallelujah!
Old derelict ICON thriftmasters rule. Nice one Jonathan
Long long time ago, JC Whitney devoted several pages in their catalog to hood ornaments , always luv your end product
I think the hood ornament is from a Studebaker silver hawk.

Bravo!,....Delightful build. Thanks for sharing the details. She's a beauty'.
Killer. I’d love to have my bone stock 1953 3800 with 9’ bed converted in exactly the same manner 😎
Love your truck

This guy always makes me imagine if Tony Orlando and Liberace got together as car enthusiasts what would they act like--here ya go!
i wish i had enough $$$$ to have you guys build me something - such amazing attention to detail!!

This is pure perfection. I’d get one if I won the lottery!
love it... I'll take two...
The 6.2 w/6spd is plenty powerful. I’d take one with an off white paint job.
The hood emblem is from a 1950 Chevy deluxe and is called the flying hood bird
Sweet ride , thanks for sharing
Cool truck!!!!
Hood ornament is the only pimple on this beauty.
Wish it we're mine ! ❤
Excellent work love the hat !

Right on Jonathon
See you at SEMA
Beautiful!
This might actually be my new 2nd favorite Derelict build. 😊
Sorry yall, my all time favorite is without question the Hudson.
Beautiful truck
Super build.

That Rolls was hilarious.

Flawless as always how much are we looking for $$$$$$$$
My dream truck!
My only problem is I’m 6’4” so I don’t know if I could fit inside this thing, let alone try and work a manual transmission.
There's a Thriftmaster with my name on it as soon as I win the lottery.
goooooood
@ICON - The hood ornament is off a 1950 Belair.
I apologize but I have to ask. Where can I buy that folding bench seat you were sitting on in front of the truck. Please don’t tell me you made it yourself.
Lovely as it is , Dad sez : it ain't a farm truck till ya bounce a whitetail deer off it
The ornament looks like one from the early 50s Chevrolet Bel Air
On the rear suspension what brand is it please??
Nice
Wish they would do something other than jeep’s and old pick up trucks like when they did the Mercedes and the Rolls Royce
Nice hat ! What brand is that?
Hey ! Amazing. And who make the t-shirts?
all the chrome still needs to be stripped and triple dipped and there's still a little rust that should be stopped in the tailgate area. other than that, she's perfect
Should have kept the in line 6 that s the best engine for that truck

Controversial opinion but I think it's too much patina😂😅
Identifiers on A pillar too obvious, talk about Captain Bling ... needs to be MUCH more discreet, especially for a $250,000 build....
The hood ornament is a 1949 and 1950 Chevrolet de luxe car
Any chance of a free one? Just asking.
Buts it’s not an EV , you’ll be out of compliance in California in 2035. 😂😂
