    As a Panthers fan, I don't think there is necessarily anything wrong with building a new arena somewhere in South Florida, Ideally closer to downtown. It's sort of like the Tao complex that is right by, yes, it's cool that it's located in a rural swamp, and yes, it's right by the shopping mall, which is literally a tourist trap, the problem is the location itself and how it looks, that's the whole issue, and it's very inconvenient for anyone living in Fort Lauderdale, Miami, and/or West Palm Beach to get to. If I would get a new arena and eat somewhere either in Fort Lauderdale or Miami

    The Panthers arena is in SUNRISE, FL, not Surprise... also, yes it borders the everglades one side, but its literally across the street from one of the largest shopping malls in the SouthEast US. Sunrise has a population of nearly 100k people and the other surrounding cities like Coral Springs, Davie, Plantation are either over 100k or close to it. It has good highway acess off the Sawgrass Expressway and the interior of the building is perfectly fine with plenty of room, food options, suites, club level, etc. The building the Miami Heat play in is like 3 year younger and usually noted as one of the best in the NBA. Could it be closer to Ft. Lauderdale? Yes. If they moved it back to Miami they would lose a lot of their fanbase. Dude clearly has zero idea what hes talking about.

    • @jimmyzarkis6276
      @jimmyzarkis6276 2 месяца назад

      it was also put there because of the highway access. Miami can drive up on 75. Also if they are coming from Naples or Fort Myers, they can take alligator alley straight across. Getting in and out was so much easier then in Miami or where the dolphins play. Safe location by far then the other venues. Its also close to were the players live. Half the cost of Miami. Plantation Acres, Weston, Parkland like you said. Places I can't afford. I guess they should just rip down the everglades so the arena area gets even more congested. Also, since its S FL, if Sunrise is 100k, its probably more like 200k. Only half are registered.

    • @nfa80
      @nfa80 2 месяца назад +3

      Yep. The roof definitely comes first though. You'd hate to have a leaky roof (if it gets that bad, but I haven't been there in quite a while) damage brand new seats. I'd love to see a return to the concept of the lower gold seats like the old Aud had, but just stick to blue and gold as colors (not the four colors the Aud had). I do like the dome shape of the roof rather than it being flat, but they should replace the baby blue color. It would be nice if the arena had more decorations regarding more parts of the team history (and at this point, all that history is going pretty far back, considering the playoff drought). Also redo the concourse floor, as the green is out of place. It's hard to be a Sabres fan these days, but improving the overall fan experience can still be done. They have started to address the food quality, from what I hear.

    • @tomwujek4867
      @tomwujek4867 Месяц назад +1

      @@nfa80 Sabres fan here that goes to games at the KeyBank Center regularly. I like that the roof is finally being addressed and the scoreboard will finally get replaced this summer after having the current one since 2007. That should have really been replaced a few years ago as I have been to some games where some portions will glitch. Also, the concourses need to have some updates. However, it is not the worst building for sightlines and the upper deck gives a very nice view of the action.
      If they could do something such as the gold, red, blue seats similar to the old Aud, it would be a nice touch. Also, an idea would be to enclose the Alumni Plaza and turn it into an atrium. Team history could be displayed alongside the columns that have every single Sabres player (and fans who donated to have name plates added).

  • @ToABrighterFuture
    @ToABrighterFuture 2 месяца назад +3

    Seen enough games in DC (former STH) to call your assessment ill-founded.
    The Caps and Wizards want to head across the river, because the writing is on the wall for the District proper. Muriel Bowser wants to be mayor for life, and with the pull she has in Ward 8, she might well succeed, despite the District having gone from borderline, to basket case, and well on the way to doom loop, on her watch.
    In theory, Congress could revoke home rule, but then again, in theory, the Sabres might one day win the Stanley Cup.
    If you're charging primo prices to get in the place, and the neighborhood around the arena is starting to resemble a dystopian sci-fi movie, something's gotta give.
    The arena, inside of it at least, isn't bad. I've been in arenas that give me claustrophobia just walking the concourse (Amalie Arena, looking at you), but C1A doesn't fall prey to that.
    No, it doesn't have a bunch of postmodern bells and whistles, but it's a solid arena that's intuitively laid out.

    Another reason why the Senators want to build a new arena is because of the location of the Canadian Tire Centre. It's in the middle of nowhere in the western suburb of Kanata and it’s very hard to get to for fans who live in the eastern part of the city. There’s a possibility that a new arena could be built just west of downtown Ottawa, and that would work wonders for the Senators and downtown Ottawa as a whole.

    The way this guy talks it would seem that an arena is some disposable, prefabricated structure that can be replaced every ten years. While arenas usually don't last as long as the classic ones of yesteryear, they require a HUGE budget and are generally designed to be a long-standing building, becoming a landmark of a city. Something from the 1990s is probably newer than most homes people live in and can be renovated. Unfortunately, budgets often dictate what a city can do.

    Panthers changed out the seats about 12 years ago they used to be all green when it opened as the national car rental center. They were asking season ticket holders how they felt about the team playing at a new arena in ft. Lauderdale and not sunrise. It’s really a class building but that roof..yikes. Maybe the solar panels they put on a few years ago.

Sure, it's not futuristic like Rogers Place or T-Mobile Arena, but it's got a nice exterior and inside it's really not that bad. It's well kept and there's not many bad seats in the house. The 300 level isn't that bad and honestly it's not a bad view for the price
