I use iPad Air 3. It was recommended to me by many RUclipsrs as a “iPad for students”, but I don’t think it’s worth the extra money. If I had a chance to go back , I would’ve probably brought some other iPad

Yes I wish that I could get one my mom doesn’t go to business becuse of the corona virus so we don’t make a lot of money these days but I still have the iPad Air 1 I wish I had the iPad 8
this is exactly what i needed, so many people compare the budget ipad to the $1000 one which makes no sense. i’m a highschool student i don’t need that, but thanks i plan on buying one!
Tbh, this is so similar to the pro. Like I prefer the 8th gen and the new air because it’s comes in many color options plus it’s cheaper with the similar specs

The iPad 8th generation was the best purchase for me. I’ve never owned an iPad before prior to this, so it was my dream come true to finally own one. I use it for school too, and it’s satisfactory to me.

Smart buy. Since the resolution (specifically ppi) and battery life is the same across the whole line up, I don’t see the point to get the air 4, despite the fact that it looks a lot sleeker
Agree on these points. I have the 2018 version and has been completely sufficient for similar needs. An additional point, 32GB is usually enough also because most services students use are cloud-based.

honestly tech reviewers forget that average user won't edit 4k videos everyday. Most people want something for content consumption, note taking and maybe non-professional video editing/art. regular iPad is more than enough for that

@@arunganesansivakumar4397 it's not enough, i wouls recommend the 128 gb version. Even if you're gonna use cloud storage a lot, using it for 4 to 5 years will have severe storage problems due to larger apps

You should just buy a paper note book and pen. There is really no need for iPad. Unless if you don’t have a computer. Even then getting a computer over iPad is worth it.

Keep in mind, it does NOT have a laminated screen. This means there is a gap between the glass and the screen itself, which causes a very slight effect with the Apple Pencil ( causes your writing to not be precisely where the pencil tip and is very minor and unnoticeable unless you really try looking for it ).
Yup! I think if you're looking carefully for it you'll notice it /if you switch from the iPad Pro, but I tried both side-by-side and honestly the slower refresh rate is more significant to me & even that is totally fine for note taking imo :)

I bought one strictly for note taking 3 weeks ago, 8th gen because even if it's an investment for school, im still on a budget and WOOOW i lOVE it. I personally hate physical notes and ever since we went remote, I switched to onenote on my laptop and now i have both goodnotes + onenote on the ipad. Life changing really. I still use my laptop for certain classes of course they all have different ways of running, but if anyone has been looking to buy an ipad for digital notetaking because that is something you prefer, do it! You won't regret it!

I have exactly the same ipad and the only thing i don’t like about it is the unlaminated display. It didn't bother me at first, until after some time. My mom has the ipad mini 5 and the laminated display looks waaaay better. A laminated display provides better experience in every aspect, especially if you're gonna write or draw on it.

i gifted my gf an iPad 8, she is the perfect "casual" user. The only performance issue she got with the iPad is that in long online class sessions, the zoom/ google meet app automatically closes / crashes, leaving out her of the class and making her to re-join the session loosing like 10 to 20 seconds of the class

I think it depends on how much you're willing to spend and whether or not the iPad will be your only device for school/work. If you're using the iPad as your main & only device the iPad Air 4 is probably a better pick because its more powerful, has 64GB of storage + USB-C and can connect to the Magic Keyboard. But if you have a laptop or desktop for heavier tasks then the iPad 8 does fine as an additional tablet :)
It’s funny to me how I was originally looking for a budget laptop and you had a video on the one I was considering and I ultimately ended up just purchasing this iPad as well, again you have a video about it 😂 I got a keyboard as well. It seems like we reviewed the same options. I’m really excited to get it because I’ve always wanted an iPad and I’ve been using iPhones for a few years now but it’s nice to be able to have an iPad that I can hopefully use yrs to come after I finish my schooling. I don’t know why everyone claims 32gb is not enough. It is if it’s not your main device. My previous tablet only let me have around 4 apps total because it was filled with bloatware. 32gb sounds pretty awesome to me, especially since you can get a Microsoft subscription for Word and whatnot. I already have a laptop, its a few years old but it still gets the job done so I don’t know why I’d buy a whole new laptop if they have this budget iPad. When the time comes for a new laptop, i’ll deal with that.

Paperlike screen protector is not adviseable though. They said it ruins the tip of the pencil by its continous usage

Keep in mind, it does NOT have a laminated screen. This means there is a gap between the glass and the screen itself, which causes a very slight effect with the Apple Pencil ( causes your writing to not be precisely where the pencil tip and is very minor and unnoticeable unless you really try looking for it ).
Yup! I think if you're looking carefully for it you'll notice it /if you switch from the iPad Pro, but I tried both side-by-side and honestly the slower refresh rate is more significant to me & even that is totally fine for note taking imo :)
I drop my gadgets a lot so its better for me not to have the laminated screen iPads lol

I bought one strictly for note taking 3 weeks ago, 8th gen because even if it's an investment for school, im still on a budget and WOOOW i lOVE it. I personally hate physical notes and ever since we went remote, I switched to onenote on my laptop and now i have both goodnotes + onenote on the ipad. Life changing really. I still use my laptop for certain classes of course they all have different ways of running, but if anyone has been looking to buy an ipad for digital notetaking because that is something you prefer, do it! You won't regret it!

I have exactly the same ipad and the only thing i don’t like about it is the unlaminated display. It didn't bother me at first, until after some time. My mom has the ipad mini 5 and the laminated display looks waaaay better. A laminated display provides better experience in every aspect, especially if you're gonna write or draw on it.

i gifted my gf an iPad 8, she is the perfect "casual" user. The only performance issue she got with the iPad is that in long online class sessions, the zoom/ google meet app automatically closes / crashes, leaving out her of the class and making her to re-join the session loosing like 10 to 20 seconds of the class
thats not performance issues, thats shitty code in those apps making them crash randomly

I think it depends on how much you're willing to spend and whether or not the iPad will be your only device for school/work. If you're using the iPad as your main & only device the iPad Air 4 is probably a better pick because its more powerful, has 64GB of storage + USB-C and can connect to the Magic Keyboard. But if you have a laptop or desktop for heavier tasks then the iPad 8 does fine as an additional tablet :)

It’s funny to me how I was originally looking for a budget laptop and you had a video on the one I was considering and I ultimately ended up just purchasing this iPad as well, again you have a video about it 😂 I got a keyboard as well. It seems like we reviewed the same options. I’m really excited to get it because I’ve always wanted an iPad and I’ve been using iPhones for a few years now but it’s nice to be able to have an iPad that I can hopefully use yrs to come after I finish my schooling. I don’t know why everyone claims 32gb is not enough. It is if it’s not your main device. My previous tablet only let me have around 4 apps total because it was filled with bloatware. 32gb sounds pretty awesome to me, especially since you can get a Microsoft subscription for Word and whatnot. I already have a laptop, its a few years old but it still gets the job done so I don’t know why I’d buy a whole new laptop if they have this budget iPad. When the time comes for a new laptop, i’ll deal with that.

oh I actually didn't cast it on my monitor - I had OneNote open on my laptop and that was connected to the monitor
