I quit watching after he was voted off and I could not stand Scotty McCreery but you have to give it to Scotty. He sure has made a name for himself. I felt like he was just a gimmick but seems like he has proved he wasn't.
The bs part is that Scotty sounded liked EVERY other country singer in the world...give metal a chance you idiots. James had a unique voice, and a passion. It saddens me that rock and metal are so "alien" to people. He should've won this thing.
It was the resurgence of country music in America for sure that sent him home. I quit watching Idol after this season. $$ still runs these and everyone knows it. I saw him live in a little bar a year later and he was even more amazing.
Daniel Ebert both Scotty & James are talented and they should’ve been the top 2 of season 10. And Scotty was a deserving winner and he’s been successful post idol :)

As starting at round 11, she started winning the best performances of the night every freaking week and then getting all those damn standing ovations all the damn time and she just wouldn't give anybody else a chance man. Who the hell she thinks she is. Damn, she was so damn greedy man, so very, very greedy man, and then I laughed when she finally got voted off the next week, because the young teen age voting bloc wouldn't vote for her over of Scotty McCreery and the girl they were shipping as his girlfriend. That was good for her. That's what she deserved for doing all those best of the night performances every week and getting all those damn standing ovations all the damn time without giving anyone else a chance. She certainly didn't deserve to win over James Durbin's emotionally perfect performances man. I was so damn angry after that, that I stopped watching Idol after that season. Meanwhile, I still curse Haley every time I see her, even though I can't stop buying all her music. Indeed, I hate myself for it.
Brandon Garner I agree. I love Lauren and I think her, James & Scotty should’ve been the top 3 but a James/Scotty finale would’ve been exciting, they reminded me of Adam & Kris and Scotty was a deserving winner :)
I was actually hoping he would make it into the final three with Haley and Scotty, so that Scotty and James would split up the young adolescent female vote and clear the way for Haley Reinhart to win it all, but I guess James sang off pitch one too many times and got voted off the show. Oh well.

Actually this isn't true. More of the winners go on to have careers than the losers. For example: Kelly, Carrie and Phillip. Most of the losers fade into obscurity and we never see or hear from them again besides maybe seeing them on the show the next season. Daughtry and Hudson are the exception, not the rule. Everyone thought Pia and Jessica would be huge once their seasons ended but they never went anywhere. James isn't super popular, but he has a decent sized fan base and I think he's great.
But the AI contract for winners is shitty. Phillip's sued to get out of it. It took 2 years out of his career because he couldn't sell during litigation. Clarkson hated AI control too. Durbin has done great on his own! Screw AI

i was bawling during the song and for an hour after and then bitched anyone out for the next week who said anything to me about him getting eliminated xD. james was MY idol and still is today. this has to be one of the best elimination moments in the shows history.
It was an article by James' Step-dad that got him canned. He said James was dangerous with his handicap because he wrestled too rough with his son. AI probably got scared and felt AI should not be represented by that. I think that is sick. No wonder the marriage did not last long. Too bad she ever married him. He was and has been bad for James!

James will get a record deal no doubt, and for those that love his music will keep his music alive. I too, liked him and there were a lot of good ones this year. When you get down to the top 5 or so they all are winners.

shadow hunter yes Colton was good but I hated how the judges treated his sister and threw her under the bus when she auditioned and Colton just went to support her but the judges kept pushing him to audition and completely ignored his sister . That was rude of the judges to do that but Colton was very talented , and I found out he’s gonna be a father so I’m excited for him

i was bawling during the song and for an hour after and then bitched anyone out for the next week who said anything to me about him getting eliminated xD. james was MY idol and still is today. this has to be one of the best elimination moments in the shows history.
It was an article by James' Step-dad that got him canned. He said James was dangerous with his handicap because he wrestled too rough with his son. AI probably got scared and felt AI should not be represented by that. I think that is sick. No wonder the marriage did not last long. Too bad she ever married him. He was and has been bad for James!

@KingOfTheStrings66 Being kicked off may not be a bad thing, I think sometimes the artists go on to be bigger stars. James will get a record deal no doubt, and for those that love his music will keep his music alive. I too, liked him and there were a lot of good ones this year. When you get down to the top 5 or so they all are winners.
He just released an album with some BIG name musicians in a band called Cleanbreak. Check on the song, ‘coming home’…he’s still just as good as ever

I agree. I like Lauren but I was rooting for James to be in the finale with Scotty.
shadow hunter I like lauren too and her and Scotty were a decent finale . I’m happy Lauren was the last girl standing and she’s been successful after American Idol . But Scotty and James would’ve been an awesome finale they have completely different voices and they remind of Kris Allen and Adam Lambert

shadow hunter yes Colton was good but I hated how the judges treated his sister and threw her under the bus when she auditioned and Colton just went to support her but the judges kept pushing him to audition and completely ignored his sister . That was rude of the judges to do that but Colton was very talented , and I found out he’s gonna be a father so I’m excited for him
shadow hunter and Scotty was a deserving winner he had originality and made songs his own and he has been a successful winner . It’s pretty rare that AI winners are successful these days lol
