I did this to my 2022 ram 2500. Thanks for the excellent guide! Super easy and great peace of mind. I really appreciate your guidance, it served me well.
Well done mate and very clean I stall process... Doing it now on my F350 but with the Pro 4 battery version for engine batteries and camper shell battery too... Thank you.
I'm thinking of doing the same and I see you did a nice job and I was wondering how it's working out for you? What I'd really like to know is if you were charging both batteries at the same time without disconnecting one of the batteries? I have a 2011 Dodge 3500. NOCO told me today by chat that I had to disconnect 1 battery. However they have a old video out showing they're charging one of the batteries at a time without disconnecting one of them. Thanks for any input you can help me with.
Gosh so much to learn, so many options. So for a couple of really cold days my battery failed me (-30C). Decided to look at a maintainer. I have purchased the NOCO 2D. I really like the idea of the NOCO dual adapter for blocker heater and charger. So to my question. Will it hurt to plug in for the trickle charge for say 6 hours vs recommended minimum 24hours. During the cold winter months I could see myself driving my vehicle most days (plug/unplug). Using it in conjunction with my block heater, Hope I am talking sense
Just hooked my single bank up and used the plug in port to run my block heater and onboard charger up. Two things: 1.) I should’ve used a two bank for speed and more slack. The single bank barely reaches both batteries. 2.) Is there any concern with having the block heater going when you’re only wanting to run the trickle charge? For example, warm weather and not driving the truck for an extended period? Thanks in advance. Great video.
There is no concern running this all year long even for extended periods of time. The charger monitors the batteries and stops when they are fully charged. As for the block heater it doesn’t get as hot as the engine does when it’s running so all it can do is help when you go to start it up cold. Hope this helps, thanks for watching.
Good video. Straight to the point. Question, by having your Block Heater always turned on when plugged in...during the winter no problem, but during the summer any issues?
Nice video! Couple of questions: Why a 2 bank charger? Your trucks dual batteries are not independent (wired in parallel) and are a single bank. Doesn't wiring them as independent banks undermine this smart charger's.... smarts? Also, I'm thinking 4 x 1 inch square velcro pads weren't up to the task. Can you give us an update on that? Thanks!
Why would the velcro not hold up? It's not a high stress piece, nor in exceptionally harsh climate. Please pay someone to do this for you, you have no clue.
Actually since the two batteries are connected in parallel you only need a single bank charger. I am doing the same thing but with a NOCO two amp unit.
I sold my F250 diesel when I bought the RAM. I tried to love the Ford but it just didn’t love me back. I have always been a Ford guy and still own a Mustang but I couldn’t afford the 250 anymore. Repair costs were out of control at 130,000 miles. Head gasket, injectors, transmission, rusted cab, injectors, rusted fenders, frame rails, bed, I just couldn’t justify it any longer. I do love the way this one tows. And you know what they say?
@@funbro1 I can say I’ve only had Fords and I’m 42 yr old and I’ve never had all these issues that people talk about. My grandfather owned an 88 Ford F250 and used to tow our horses back and forth to Missouri and it had 500K miles on it when he sold it along with the farm to move out to Missouri. That truck was a work horse and I wish I was old enough I would have taken it. Light blue with the old man seat cover.. lol. I’ve had F250’s and 150’s and I’ve never had any major issues other then normal maintenance. I never seen any rust etc but I live in California so that’s most likely why. The unfortunate part is these new manufacturers outsource their parts and they get parts from all over the world and it always ends up being crap. I always wonder if all manufacturers here in the US would have better products if it was all done here in the US but then again I also feel like they purposely make their products to fail at a certain point otherwise people wouldn’t buy new trucks every couple years. I have friends that trade in their 2 year old truck for another one.literally nothing has changed they just want a new one. To me that’s just ignorant and you end up having payments for 10-15 years or more. To me that’s just stupid but thats me.

Great video, sir. It was nicely done and very informative and done nice and neat like a pro. 👍

It works great. Thanks for watching.
Thank. I've never seen how the moisture sealing tape was used. Cool.
It is not cheap but when you need it believe me it works well. Thanks for watching.
Nicely done, exactly what I want to do.
Great work! How large is your heat shrink tubing?

It should be fine, the battery maintainer will only charge if the battery is needed to be charged.
Nice pro job. Thanks. Just bought one.
Awesome, you will love it.
Thanks for watching.
Nice job!
Thanks for the visit

No issues at all, the heater will only heat to a set temperature so it will not hurt anything except your electric bill.
Thanks for watching.
@@funbro1 that's what I thought. In AZ it gets so hot that after you drive the truck never really cools off.
Hello good sir, what size shrink tube did you use? I'm getting all the parts ready to do this install
I used 1-1/4” or 30mm for the big parts.
Hope this helps, thanks for watching.
Do you have a link for that splitter?
By hooking up both terminals since there in parellel doesn't one bank cancel out the other charger and throw it into over voltage protection ?
Not at all, works like a charm.
Thanks for checking in.
You don't have even a basic understanding of how this works.
is it ok to use a battery when NOCO GENIUS charger is flashing green?
Yes, no problem. When it is flashing green it is just optimizing the battery for extended life. Thanks for watching.
Will a single bank charge both batteries long term?
It may, might be slower but it has to be better than nothing.
Thanks for watching.
How did it hold up mounted on the fuse box with Velcro?
So far it’s done great. I even pulled it off a couple times to replace a fuse and it’s still holding tight. Thanks for watching.
@@funbro1 how and why are you blowing fuses? That sounds like something you need to investigate. A new truck should not have those issues
Please provide the link to the y adapter like for Amazon thank you
Yes, you can find them
On Amazon.
Thanks for watching.
Nice!

Uhm, well, that's embarrassing 🙄 .... I just finished reading the comments. Never mind my 2 banks question.
How's the velcro doing? LOL. 🤣
Uhm, nevermind the velcro question too. 😬🙄. 😂😂😂😂
I have had to remove the charger to access the fuses at one point but it reattached to the Velcro and is still holding tight.
Thanks for watching.

All you needed was a small tourch lighter for the heat shrink
Sure, the time it would take will be a lot longer and the results inconsistent, but I’ve done it that way before.
Thanks for watching.

After investigating that I decided to go with the double bank. Thanks for watching.
And doing it with a dual bank is faster and better. But thank you for trying to tell him what he "should" (in your oh so esteemed opion) fo

What would you recommend?
