Striped Bass and Hybrid Bass Fishing on Lake Norman

In this fishing video we go fishing for striped bass and hybrid bass on Lake Norman in North Carolina. Lake Norman hybrid bass fishing has become popular in recent years. For many years Lake Norman striper fishing was popular, and the growth of striped bass in Lake Norman grew, and the Lake Norman stripers would reach 13-15 pound with an occasional striper breaking the 20 pound mark.
Over the past decade hybrid bass fishing on Lake Norman has replaced striper fishing. Biologists decided that hybrid bass could withstand the water temperatures on Lake Norman better than striped bass could. There are still striped bass in Lake Norman, but the hybrids have become the more popular species tp pursue.
We are live bait fishing for hybrids in this video. We are also catching many spotted bass on live bait on Lake Norman during this trip. Lake Norman is home to the North Carolina state record spotted bass. The NC state record spotted bass will likely not be broken anytime soon on Lake Norman due to the overwhelming number of small spotted bass in the lake. Lake Norman spots are they are called, are prolific breeders, and the spots are fun to catch and great to eat.
