Never seen a boxer as focus as Hopkins the way he stands.
Bud?
Crazy Bhop was 39 in this fight. WOW
the alien
10 years later his still a champion
Hopkins admitted Oscar was his toughest fight. Hopkins said Oscar was very intelligent but that's not what surprised him. Hopkins was surprised how hard Oscar hit and how strong he was. He had a lot of power in his punches.
Nobody ever gave Oscar any credit for going up to 160 to fight Bernard💯🤷
Agree
It was a money fight. Oscar lost to Felix Sturm, but the judges gave him the nod so that this fight could happen.
That part
Yep, he fought so many great fights, he was passed his prime in his last several fights.
Credit? 🤦🏾♂️
Hopkins such a smart gladiator. Dropped the first round or two cuz DLH was on his game with timing and reflexes. Hopkins just started crashing through the defence with momentum and his entire body into power punches, lead rights, lead left hooks. Changed the entire complexion of the fight. It no longer remained a point fight. Genius way to win vs smaller quicker opponents. Eventually got him outta there with said tactic to the liver.
Legends love yall
Hopkins was 39 that’s crazy
10 years later & Lara at 40 years old knocked out a 30 something year old Zefera 🤣 different fighters but shows that age is just a number in certain cases
That ref seems like he hasnt aged a day
Oscar took a dive after 5 😂
Casual
Salute golden boy
To crafty!
Prime Hopkins was no joke.
Hopkin no quiere darle 😂😂
Oscar got hit so bad he thought he died hahahahahaha. 😂😂😂 Folded him like a 🌮🌮🌮 SHOUTOUT TO B-HOP.
De la hoya gave it all fo sho he was best at 147 in his division
@@ishrendon6435 i never liked de la hoya (still don't) but saw this live and felt bad for him.
@marcyfan-tz4wj me neither but he was unbeatable at 130 to 140 he should've stayed and dominated that weightclass he was the best
@@marcyfan-tz4wj no doubt
Thankfully that body shot ended it because if the judges were anything like the commentators, d riding De La Hoya, Hopkins would have gotten robbed
It didn’t seem like the commentators were d riding in fact they were talking about de la Hoya looking bad. Me personally it was looking like de la Hoya might’ve won the decision though because Hopkins was doing much in the early rounds.
Well de la hoya was boxing hin better until the knockout lol
WHAT FIGHT oscar de la coca take a knee to Bernard Hopkins 😂😂
B-HOP!!
Damn Hopkins was nearly 40 this fight & De la hoya 31 still in his prime Just shows how impressive Canelos KO win over Lightheavy Champ Kovalev was as Kovalev was bigger & younger then Hopkins when Canelo beat him ...
Moving up three weight divisions & KOing the Champ is no joke & Jermell moving up two divisions is going to find out just how hard that is to do when he fights Canelo! Undisputed vs Undisputed lessss goooo... 🥊💪🏼💪🏼😝
Why don't you give Hopkins his credit?
De la Hoya wasn't in his prime he was using coke already and didn't have the same discipline as before and he didn't put no rehydration clause like canelo did to Kovalev plus Kovalev two months before facing canelo he fought a tough fight
He gave Kolovev a rehydrate clause which you could clearly see affected him in the fight
Jermell is gonna get starched
@@EugenioRodriguez-rr7nw Huh? This fight was a catchweight even though Oscar had fought at 160lb before, but you're complaining about Canelo jumping up 15lbs straight to the full 175 limit? Also, it was a morning check in not rehydration limit, Kovalev was allowed to rehydrate beyond that and enter the ring at any weight. Meanwhile the fight wasn't even conditional on Kovalev making the check in, he had the freedom to blow it and pay a small percentage of his inflated purse and still walked away with double his largest payday, but Kovalev said he preferred being within 10lbs because he's bloated beyond that and made the same check in for the most of his big fights under the IBF which has the morning check in place for all their fights. The only one at a weight disadvantage was Canelo but people lost the plot.
Meanwhile the short notice claim is a flat out phony narrative. Canelo had pushed to fight Kovalev prior in place of Yarde but Kovalev is the one who dismissed it and chose to put it off until afterward, and it was DAZN not Canelo who chose the date because they wanted a month buffer between that fight and Joshua-Ruiz 2 so they'd fall on separate billing cycles. The situation wasn't even optimal from Canelo's end because until Kovalev secured the Yarde win, it was uncertain whether he'd be fighting Kovalev or remain at 160, so not much time to prepare for a massive leap in weight.
Kovalev's KO over Yarde proved that he remained capable and dangerous by outboxing and breaking down a young and determined big punching LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT. But people tried to call him washed just because he was tested when Yarde also tested next level hyped Beterbiev. The ridiculous part is Canelo critics gave Beterbiev more praise for beating Yarde coming off of being flattened by Kovalev than to Canelo for knocking out the champ who got the job done. Fact of the matter is that if Beterbiev or Bivol had a win over that version of Kovalev, it would be a top 2 win in their careers at light heavyweight, but somehow the smaller fighter gets no credit even though the only other modern day ex welterweight to become champ at 175 was 6'1 Thomas Hearns? Ridiculous.
Who knew that’s where one’s liver is located?
This match was not 160. Look at the weight.
YOU'RE NO LONGER A CHAMP ONCE YOU LOOSE THAT'S WHY THEY CALL IT FORMER CHAMPION !
And then I seen the fish 🐠 net pictures 🤣
I was rooting for Golden boy too
Joe Rogan sent me
hopkins called the liver shot, if you listen in the corner
Two ledgens
They were trying to market this as Hagler vs. Leonard, but let's be real: Oscar started out at 130 lbs and looked soft above welter, and Hopkins was a HUGE middleweight. DLH should have even lost the fight before this vs Sturm. This was a crash grab.
Oscar fights everybody and taking so much risk unlike x/twitter queens shakur haney
Haney just fought Loma and moving up to 140 to face Regis next. Shakur is being avoided from Loma to Zapeda to Pitbull Cruz etc. Oscar is a All time Great you can't compare the 2 numbnutts.
The size difference was too much for oscar, he didnt have the skills to negate the size.
Yeah the same thing happened to trinidad when he fought against Hopkins
Just shows how impressive Canelo's victory over Lightheavy Champ Kovalev was, went up from 154 to 175 & KO'D the Champ.... not easy to do at all!
@Saiyan4eva yeah Kovalev he fought a month before facing canelo only have two months to train and canelo put a rehydration clause on him lol
Dela Hoya has 3 inch reach advantage but i do agree, 160 is a little bit too much for Oscar
@@EugenioRodriguez-rr7nwAs did Mayweather so what's your point?
Spoilers
Always like Oscar de La Hoya but to me he's quite overrated. Pretty great as a welterweight but Bernard Hopkins is old school rough.
Anybody notice that was a hold and hit knockout? Bernard had his right hand against oscars left ear and hit him on the right ear while holding his head.
@blakephilbrook657 occurs matter cause Bernard Hopkins was a great boxer but at the same he use to fought dirty he used to head butt to grab your head while hitting you and hit whit his shoulder
@blakephilbrook657 yea, prob the liver shot, but its hard to tell because he didnt go down right away, he went down after the shot to the head.
@@ryanodonnell4184that’s how liver shots work they’re delayed. When he went down his arms were at his side not holding his head.
just like ryan. NO HEART
i dont think any one really cares
KING CANELO WILL END CHARLO THE SAME WAY, MARK MY WORDS AND ONCE HE DOES COME BACK TO THIS AND GIVE ME A LIKE DONT BE A HATER ALL YOUR LIFE 🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽👑👑👑🌏🌏🌏💪🏼💪🏼🤴🤴🤴🫵HATE ON IT
Your comment has nothing to do with the video.
@@MrBri0523 it does its boxing and CANELO IS KING OF BOXING 🥊 do you believe??
@@user-oz7pg3pv2f Give Hopkins his credit.

Not the sexiest fight I've seen. Just " sweet science " , no pressure, no dogging out. Just yawn 🥱
Looka like Hopkins was trying not to hurt him.
