Contracting with more than one company is how you really can thrive in the Drive away business...Having a tow car as well... Thanks for the info. I was a transporter sometime ago and that is what made the difference in the pay outs. Good fortune to you and God bless.

How many companies should one work for at one time to be able to stay running with no down time as much as possible?

      What companies do you suggest?

I did driveway for 6 years and it's easy. Only a fool would pay 600 for a ticket. You can easily make 1200 in 4 days if you know how to move around. 😎

@@davidfromhouston7889 make sure u fully understand driver log rules and don't pass weight stations or skip out on permits during the week. Some are closed Sunday. Getting caught without one child be anywhere from 1000-3000$ fine for a 10-100$ permit. $300-500 for passing Station. Avoid dirt roads, the list goes on and on.

@@davidfromhouston7889 always negotiate and see what can be added for travel. Calculate you mpg a mile or 2 lower than what the trucks get. All units are different. Make sure it's worth your time with fuel and travel subtracted from total. Never Buy fuel with comdata card. Pay cash and always keep any receipt that u get even a drink from airport. It's all tax deductible. Remember this is 1099 private subcontractor. You will pay taxes instead of receiving a check. Anything over 200 is too much for a flight. Sometimes u have no choice, especially if u wait too long. If it going to Miami and pays good go for it. Flights are under 100. Use at least 3 companies at a time to save on travel. There might be a unit close to delivery with your second or third company

I know this was as of 1yr. ago. As companies keep growing, some usually lower the amt. they pay the independent contractors to move things across the country. That said, I understand they paid around $3600 total for the trip, 1/2 up front & the other 1/2 sometime after the trip. With the travel expenses of getting there, fuel along the way & getting home expenses totaled around $1900, the end pay for the trip was around $1,700 for a 4 day run & you're taxed on take home pay, after expenses. If I understand, with 25% taken for self employment, it would've probably been somewhere around $1,275 for the final take home pay. It depends on your monthly budget & where you need to be for income & not every gig app should be depended on for full-time income. It's equally inportant to diversify, wherever you can. Depending on where you live in the US, $1,275 for 4 days might not be enouh for some folks.
