Dave has had a rough life and as a musician I know he worked hard to earn everything he has. Judging from the Dave 20 years ago I think he turned into a really cool guy. Seems like the kind of dude who would be cool to listen to old music with and talk to.
I think he was talking about his Jewish mother, which by Jewish law makes him a jew. So not sure when and how the Jesus thing came in. I'm guessing 12 step
Dave Mustaine is one of the purest souls in music. Neither James Hetfield, nor Lars Ulrich could hold a candle to this man... Karma got them for what they did way back then by blessing the world with Megadeth . You were never #2 Dave!! James and Lars knew it then, that's why they did what they did.
There's an interview that talks about Dave's life starting from childhood. You can find it on RUclips. I think it's "Behind the Music" but I can't remember if it was.
Daves very honest guy. Very human. No sugarcoat bS..no "show". More chillaxed these days too. Even w he was a bad guy he admitted so LMAO. Genuine as a brother should be. That's why Daves so much cooler than metal guitar God..as if that was all...😂😂😂😂. Fan since the beginning. ✌ My Brother ✌🌐.
I must really be a metal head. I started on RUclips with Buffalo Springsteen- For what its worth, and i kept clicking related videos and now im here. :D
this is great. i dont need to hear the song behind the talking the whole time though. If you are watching this video chances are you already know the music!
Yeah, good point there! But unfortunately, we can't hear it for that moron blondie kinda 'punk' of a hairy guy babbling on about himself! People, man...
I have a feeling he was really Lucky that Marty Friedman helped make Megadeth what it is. I mean, Dave can shred, but all the guitar solos Friedman played helped make a fanbase greater than just thrash metal fans.
yeah that was more a case of "see" his 10 most prized as the headliner says rather than him describing them all.Am surprised he loves ACDC .In an old interview I recall himn saying he hated Guns n Roses and that he just didn't like that Kind of Music.(hard rock). Also in the song Back in the Day he was singing about how the Scene he was in "knocked rocknroll on its ass and put Metal on the course"Oh well, there's always room for flexibility.I am a die hard metalhead, but love much hard rock too,and EVEN own the CD Toto 4.I happen to love the song Africa so that's why I spent 8 Swiss Francs on it with no regret.Actually like most of the song on it.
We found Rocky living in a junkyard, abused and malnourished. A lot of stuff was wrong with him and he didn't like people at all, but we just loved on him, and now he's really friendly. He comes into the house to hang out. Sometimes he spits up his apples. When you're a horse person, you get used to it.
Were there actually 10 things listed? Horn, album, bow, neck brace, M&Ms, ?? Maybe his son and Christianity? What am I missing? Am I to assume the background items are on the list? That would push the list beyond 10. I'm a huge fan of Mustaine so I still think this is a cool video; however the title needs corrected.
His most valued possession is a dark, black past, though.
Ba dum tssss
AND IM ALSO GETTING WET.....SWEATING BULLETS!!!!!
I lov sweating bullet,peace sells & more
My hindsight seen what you did there, its always 20/20 :v
Deth43 But sometimes, when looking back, it's still a bit fuzzy...
I can't even hear him talking the music is too loud
+Denver Dubtle Was just going to say the same thing.
IKR!
+Denver Dubtle Seriously! If they can't mix this down again at least add subtitles.
Denver Dubtle but music is good ;)
innit mate !

Underrated commetnnt
Hahaha.
Gar aswell lol
Peace?
Why?
I could listen to Dave for hours...Its amazing for someone who never shuts his mouth to not be annoying.
How a magazine as big as SPIN fails at audio editing in this day and age is fucking incredible.
***** lol unacceptable
Spin is still around? Lol

Well said!
Yet here you are, another privileged whiner. 🤷🏻♂️

Talking is too loud. Can't hear the music.
***** ;)
Mr G How?
We all know that the real most valued possession of Dave is a dark, black past but ok.
hahahaha
eh, hind sight is always 20/20
Natamus Maximus ... you don't get it do you
His prized possession is Lars.
I thought it was a dark black past
ba dum tiss
I love you
im so conflicted. i want to listen to public enemy but i also want to hear what dave has to say and im getting neither done
Audio engineer is a sadist
Radical Atheist 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Music is too loud
They should have used an instrumental like Absolution or something. Hearing his voice at the same time he's singing is very distracting. lol
Shut up
jelous of all my likes, bitch?
Liam Yates 😂😂😂😂😁😀☺😐😮☻👽
Huh? I hear him just fine.
who's genius idea was it to mask the dialogue with music? u can't fucking hear what the man is saying!!
CAN YOU STOP THE MUSIC IN THE BACKGROUND FOR GOD SAKE !!!??? WE JUST CANT HEAR HIM TALK !!!
+Gerard M. GM Yeah and it doesn't help that he is practically whispering half the time too.
"I used to sell pot" best thing he ever said lmao
A lot of people sold substances to fund themselves. I believe slash sold qualudes
@@user-kp1ry3so2s Slash was born wealthy. He didn't have to sell drugs to fund anything.
@John Williams would’ve probably shit my pants
I know what you mean, the cheerful and casual way he said it was funny
lol, I expected them to be something like 8 guitars and 2 pictures of himself.
"I've been kind of quiet about my faith"
Oh. BULLSHIT.
LOL I know it. He's probably persecuted too.
I think he was talking about his Jewish mother, which by Jewish law makes him a jew. So not sure when and how the Jesus thing came in. I'm guessing 12 step
DoctorBlankenstein I had recalled reading somewhere that he was brought up as a Jehovah Witness
xD
Not in recent years.
Damn Dave Mustaine is awesome, So much better sober. I'm happy Metallica booted him. If not we wouldn't have Megadeth.
But maybe we would have an even better band. naah probably not with lars on drums :/
sigh, another fucking moron
No, they were gonna fire him but then Cliff died and they didn't want to lose another original member of the band.
+1983 James Hetfield Well if James Hetfield says so...
Same
He looks so young compared to now 😭
@John Williams he was doing quite a bit of poison before he got cancer.
Man is 60 years old, its okay to age
LOL I damn near died of laughter when he blew that horn LMFAO
I thought a dark black past was your most valued possession?
Is that from a song?
@@kikeheebchinkjigaboo6631 it's from the song "sweating bullets"
Didn't hear a thing, that's alright I enjoyed watching Dave.
He didn't talk about his dark, black past and how its his most valued possession.
Next time I see Megadeth live I'm throwing some M&M's on stage for him :')
Great interview, wish they mixed it better so you could here the second half.
Say what you will about Dave but at his core he seems like an alright guy.
Who the fuck mixed this.
Probably Lars
exactly, cant hear what he's saying
+Alex Z WHAT????
DEEP WINTER Nope. She was actually spot on on most of her mixes. Wasn't her.
lmao
DAVE MUSTAINE = LEGEND
Yes, 1977's "Let There Be Rock" is worthy of much praise.
There's an interview that talks about Dave's life starting from childhood. You can find it on RUclips. I think it's "Behind the Music" but I can't remember if it was.
Dave is cool- glad he is stil around to tell his tale
Dave is still addicted... to M&Ms! :D I love that horn.
MEGADETH!!!

I love how he just leaves a thousand dollar or so flying v on the ground
I can't hear what he's saying because of the music
When hes talking about his injury and all of a sudden you here "Im invincible" from Public Enemy No.1 in the background.... Awesome
Mustaine, one of the gods of metal, Hail Mustaine /,,/
Damn, Public Enemy number one is more than 9 years old? I remember buying the vinyl and watching the RUclips video as it launched
1:45 And here I was... Thinking one of the greatest musical minds on this planet is a serious guy...
sho far, sho good... sho what!
"SHO NUFF!!!!!"
0:40 Love the shofar! He plays it quite well...I understand it's actually not that easy. He has some cute moments in this interview. :)
It would have been nice if I could have heard what he was saying over the background soundtrack!
the only thing louder than Dave here is the bass in ...And Justice For All... wait a second
Lar's Urlich's prize possession: First vinyl of Peace Sells protected in a solid diamond show case.
LOL At dave blowing the shofar. He's my hebrew bro. Dave I love you :)
That was 10 things? You owe us more favorite things. We'll wait.
Lol Dave Mustaine is a genius
I assume a "dark, black past" was implicit in there, but not shown.
I must really be a metal head. I started on RUclips with Buffalo Springsteen- For what its worth, and i kept clicking related videos and now im here. :D
this is great. i dont need to hear the song behind the talking the whole time though. If you are watching this video chances are you already know the music!
Dave, That Timmy Patterson Thruster laying against the wall behind you should be at least in the top 3!
That's an odd M&M's commercial.
Thanks Willow for getting Dave into metal. Gotta love that bitch.
I think the music needs to be louder
Yeah, good point there! But unfortunately, we can't hear it for that moron blondie kinda 'punk' of a hairy guy babbling on about himself! People, man...
turn the f**kin music down, i cant even here what he's saying!!!
the dark past is my, most valued possesion
Let there be rock and Let it be 70s, as a kid, I wish.
He's a genius, I wish he'd realize that and drop the victim shit.
"a dark black past is my most valued possession"
A dark black past is my MOST VALUED POSESSION
Candies are his business and business is good. That horn could make a cool introduction to a new Megadeth song.
Wait... hes talking about his most prized possessions?
I thought this was the videoclip for Public Enemy No1
I have a feeling he was really Lucky that Marty Friedman helped make Megadeth what it is. I mean, Dave can shred, but all the guitar solos Friedman played helped make a fanbase greater than just thrash metal fans.
Dave Mustaine is an American treasure
That shofar is pretty cool. I love the sound it makes. That's a big one too.
music too loud, next time you should let only instrumental songs on the background and a bit lower. Cheers
Glad someone finally uploaded it!
You sir are the master of this video.
That’s a really good choice of a song
Well I think Mustaine seems a lot better off, calmer and happier these days
Great video
GRandma Mary

Most valued possession!
Dave, your most prized possession is your own self. It's more than enough I believe. Take care.
the dude is cool, what can you say. And a extremely hard fukn working man. UP the DAVES

A dark black past is his most valuable possessions to
Dave for President and His beautiful wife Pam as First lady
Shit! I want to hear to Dave... but that song is fucking amazing that make me sing!
Who mixed this audio. You're fired!
so wait.....one of the biggest rockstars to ever lives most prized possesions was a horn... a pony and a acdc record. which is ok.
a horn and a bow thats fucking cool if you ask me
U trynna start shit about ac/dc??...
@@mitchellhogg4627 U tryna start shit about horns??????????
@@nigel7779 U trying to start shit about bows????????
If the background music wasn't so loud maybe i could hear something.
It'd be cool if the music was mixed down low enough so you could hear what Dave is saying.
Could feel the resonance of the Shofar... Awesome
Yeah! AC/DC \m/
Great music, and great mimer guy too.
Let There be Rock is the best AC/DC album ever!
1 let there be rock
2 highway to hell
3 back in black
i also didnt want to. That is just great. I love it
Dave, the horn is from an African antelope (buck) called a "Kudu". (Just thought you might like to know the real origin of the horn.)
Guys please what is the model of that Marshall amp behind him??????
Such a mellow dude.
his dark past is his most valued possession
@TheDianaJC what about talent. so great that has inspired most of us to pick up a guitar in our lives and say one day ill be as good as dave
He's just being humble, he extracted that horn from the very skull of satan
disappointed they didn't show him talking about the mini-horse...
That Shofar isn't from a ram , that particular one came from a Giselle or a antelope. A rams horn is a lot shorter.
