Thank you for posting this. It worked fine for me. I spent $15 on a nice set of plastic pry tools, and that was worth it. The video is for the Infinity radio. My radio (XM) did not have a speaker, but a little storage compartment with a pop-up lid, which was trivial to remove (two screws on the aft side).
Thank you! Masterfully demonstrated and well narrated. The radio/CD player in the 2008 Hyundai Sante Fe is known to be a piece of junk. It ate my CD's, made grinding noises and has been useless right after I made my last payment, no doubt, except for the XM which is the only thing I use. I'd like to get another stereo/CD player this time with AUX ports but I'm afraid of losing my steering wheel remote controls which is all I really use.
Better than FM radio, for sure. I can't tell the difference between this FMdirect-to-cable and using an analog AUX port. The only issues with it are that the output of the box is weak and you need to crank up the volume on the radio (so it's loud for a few second when you start the car), and that audio quality is poor for people talking to you on the phone via the hands-free phone function. I'm happy with it, overall.
Just a heads up. If you take the the radio out of the 2011 and plan to drive it for a few days before putting in the new radio, you will need to reattach some of the dash wire harnesses, or you will be without your signal lights. I learned this the hard way.
Thanks for this. My radio was locked into "cd-in" mode and wouldn't accept a cd. In the intro it says to de-branch the battery for a few minutes. It worked!! Many thanks as it saved me a long round trip to the Hyundai dealership - for almost nothing!!
Yeahhhhh. As soon as he said, "We're gonna start over here on the driver's side and remove this one screw down in the bottom of the panel here", I knew I was out of my depth. This seems to be a brother-in-law type of operation. :-)
Thanks man I was really needing this video in My 2011 Santa Fe the radio goes in and out I think it has a short idk I’ll find out later thanks again for the video
Great video I will definitely be able to take out the radio now mine is 2009 Santa fe I don't have speaker on top I have a storage spot there. I wonder why the older models have digital display for the heat controls you think it would be opposite mine don't have digital its just a nob to adjust the controls. Thanks for video
it appears that there is a short between my steering wheel controls and the stereo. When I turn or try and use the steering wheel controls the radio starts going volume up and down and flipping stations or turning off. I do not need the steering wheel controls. Is there a way to just disconnect them from the back of the stereo?
Copious thanks for taking time to produce this. I gave up one time trying to troubleshoot an old aftermarket Parrot rig that added Bluetooth to our 2008. Now I might start looking at a replacement head unit that adds a backup camera. And no getting upside-down on my shoulders in the floor like in the good old days. Out of curiosity, do you have any experienced-based recommendations on head units that support the existing Rear Seat Entertainment (RSE) system, have Bluetooth and Aux in, GPS and a backup camera? One review came up after your video finished, so I just learned that the beasts exist. Happiness through Technology! 120,000 miles and running like a sewing machine. Thanks again. Alan
On the battery disconnect/reconnect for CD player reset, wouldn't fuse removal of the radio work just as well and be easier? I suppose this fuse is in the lower dash panel near the driver's left knee.
Where is the xm antenna hookup? I'm changing my head unit and don't see it? I wanna use the factory xm antenna. Or do I have to run a new line to the back of the head unit?
Thanks, this looks easier than removing an 05 Malibu stereo. I have a santa fe now, im only getting backlight (no text) when it's cold. Is it a bad solder or does it need to get replaced? The radio works, just can't see information, so it becomes a guessing game.
So confused by the plugs in the back of this stereo. All aftermarket stereos have one plug (multiple pins) but this appears to have two? How do I install a new stereo?
Thank you so much for this video. I just got a 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe that has the base stereo and I want to purchase the Hyundai deck with the navigation system. My question for you is that if you have an idea if what I want to do is possible or do I need other type of harnesses for that uprated deck. I want to still be able to use the steering wheel buttons that's why I don't want to go with an after market car deck. Thanks and ones again thank you very much for this video.
LatinSal... go to crutchfield.com & & chat with an advisor... they have better stuff than the factory does & include all the installation gear for free
So what in the CD player was causing the clicking? I have the exact same problem. Is it something I can fix myself to avoid replacing the stereo? Thanks
Good evening, and you showed how the stereo is decintala aora series I would like to see how it installs the stereo androit touch screen of santa fe 12
Can anyone tell me if these radio's have anti theft codes? I want to install a 2007 Santa Fe Radio with CD stacker into my car. I bought from wreckers and they said it will work fine but want to get thoughts from someone on here as to whether I will need a code. Thanks
Alguém sabe me dizer onde fica localizado o módulo de som original da santa fé preciso resetar ele para ver se os falantes das postas voltam a falar pois as músicas estão tocando mais não sai o som só a imagem.
Hi, FCSR. I watched your video, very informative. My sister has a 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe. The radio works, but it turns itself off and back on again. Doesn't seem to be any pattern. She brought it to a car stereo shop to have it replaced with a Pioneer unit for $450.00. They got the radio out and told her the amplifier was bad, and wanted another $150.00 to replace it. They claim the amplifier is in a separate chassis. Watched your video all the way through and it's easy enough for me to do, but I didn't see the separate amp. when you removed the radio. Any thoughts? We're in CT, and she wouldn't want to ship it to Fla. and have the car torn-up for all that time.
the infinity system has a speaker on the top dash , the regular stereo has a tray with a flip top on it. that has to have the 2 screws out from the top as you have to remove the air vents. to get to the screws for the stereo.
good day friend I write you from Caracas Venezuela friend I have a problem not prendes me lec panel rpm and temperature and gas and has kilomertos my santa fe 2008 and others if catches but neither where is the fuse "or not which is? that can help and grace
Right? He lost me when he started prying the wood panel thing off. I was like yeah I'm going to break that if I mess with it. I just set my spotify playlist to a portable speaker thru blue tooth. I dont even know why i care that a cd is stuck in the player. Momentarily forgot advanced technology exist.
One of the most clear videos on this subject. Thank you sir.

David Reitter did your cd player mess up or did you have a blank screen with the backlight only working?
Very nice done. And as a bonus, this was the only video posted that shows hw to remove the stereo with the Infinity sound system. THANKS!

+Victor Varisco I just bought an iSimple Bluetooth add-on, which I expect will work fine in my new 2007 Santa Fe.
+David Reitter how does it sound? better than fm or same? thanks

Many thanks from the UK for this procedure. Could not have done the job without the video.

Picking up my new/used Santa Fe today and was planning on swapping the stereo, just stumbled on this video and glad I did

Thanks! those blue clips on stereo were sorcery till you showed
Thanks for your help! This video told me step by step everything I needed to do, to replace my radio. You were a great help!! 👍👍
Excellent help, thank you. I replaced the radio in no time with your video.
thanks for the teaching i just made a 100$ on this install
Thank you for sharing this video. It helped me tremendously as I installed a new stereo in our 2009 Santa Fe. Much appreciated.
InstaBlaster
Excellent. Thank you from the UK (where our steering wheel is on the other side!)
Thank you, this works for 2015 Sonata as well
Thank you for posting this Video. I wanted to get an idea as to what I was up against when my friend comes over to work on his Santa Fe! Thank you!
Thanks a million times! Happy new year
Thanks man I was really needing this video in My 2011 Santa Fe the radio goes in and out I think it has a short idk I’ll find out later thanks again for the video
Thanks i remove the radio on my 2012 it's easy now! Happy new year..😀😀😀
Awesome, this gave me insight (courage) to deal with a radio retrofit on my 2012 Sante Fe. Now if I can figure out that backup camera cable....
Actually is much faster to take out than what it looks like-very easy with this video!
Absolutely fantastic tutorial!!! You guys are the bomb. THANK YOU SO MUCH.
Thanks from Alabama!!!! this makes it so easy....
Excellent video and description. Thanks!
Thank you 🙏🏻. What a hopeless car to dissemble 😢
Many thanks from Alberta.
I hope I never need to do this, but at least I know how if my CD player goes bad.
very helpful video.. you make this very easy for us.... thanks a lot
Really appreciate the help
What an excelent video. Chears from south América

Great instruction, thank you.
Try a reset, disconnect one of the main car battery terminals for about 5 minutes. It may reset the changer and bring it back to working.
Awesome 😊 Thanks so much.
It is good to know that this is such a pain that my new radio won't get stolen so easy.
I don't think thieves would use the same amount of care when removing it lol. They will pry and destroy everything!
Thank you very much! This gave me what I needed to do the job my self.
good explanation and very useful
Awesome video, thank you

Very helpful !! Thank you a lot
Awesome. Thank you.
Really, this video was great! Good job
Merci mon frère.
exelente infomacion gracias
Very good video.
Excellent video tutorial.
Thank You
awesome! perfect. clearly demonstrated!
Thanks, very helpful
3:38 There's actually a factory pry location on that panel all the way forward by the windshield. Rather than shoving a pry tool in the side or front.
Do you know where I can find instructions on removing the temperature control panel on a Hyundai 2014 Santa Fe Sport? Thank you very much. Good video.
Very helpful !!
Thanks for the video. Could you please make one more video to installAuxillary port in the same vehicle.
awesome exactly what i was looking for
Классно, спасибo за видео.

this is great and very informative video..do you have a video also to install a new video 2din system on santa fe?
easiest install in yrs thanks
Great vid thanks your an expert at this lol
How did you start to pry out the wood grain panel on the passenger side? In the video it looks like you already had that started.
Well this video will discourage any thief from taking the radio in a hurry. lol
older Hyundai infinity stereos have 3 pin connector (almost square shape) at the back...what is that for?
Great video, mine has a lid on the top not speaker
thanks...good job
Good vlog
Thank you so much

five words: THANK YOU VERY MUCH SIR! :)
Good job

I'm confused; I saw you pull the AM\FM antenna off the back, but where is the XM antenna?
Thank yooou!
thank you very much , EXPERT
Is there a way to fix the cd changer. Or do i have to replace it?
Dayna Dowling No

I was going to replace the head unit in my Santa Fe. But after watching this video, I've suddenly lost all desire.
+Ben Judovits lmao ik the feeling
Meeee tooooo
Looks easier than an 05 Malibu radio replacement. I'm a bit skeptical about the airbag light though.
its easy, and if worried about electronics, just disconnect battery negative terminal. changing head unit is one hours work
Does someone know the type of auxiliar cable this car needs?
When you installed the new radio did it ask for a radio code?
thanks a lot,
What can we do with the factory original stereo? If we to try to sell it what is the cost?
My 2009 Hyundai santa fe has power but no sound what could the problem be?
Can anyone tell me if these radio's have anti theft codes? I want to install a 2007 Santa Fe Radio with CD stacker into my car. I bought from wreckers and they said it will work fine but want to get thoughts from someone on here as to whether I will need a code. Thanks
Will this work exactly with a 2007 hyundai santa fe? i dont want to pay best buy
will work on 2007, 2008, 2009 and I believe it will work on the 2010.
I'm in the exact same boat, having a hard time finding a wire harness/dash kit for it.
Alguém sabe me dizer onde fica localizado o módulo de som original da santa fé preciso resetar ele para ver se os falantes das postas voltam a falar pois as músicas estão tocando mais não sai o som só a imagem.
Have a question. I have a 2010 Santa Fe and the stereo keeps turning off and on,periodically. Any idea of what’s wrong? Thanks
Its on its way out. Mine did the same exact thing. Eventually it will stop working at all.

How to remove the radio from a 2004 Hyundia?
if you don't have speakers in too can you skip that part and proceed to next step?
the infinity system has a speaker on the top dash , the regular stereo has a tray with a flip top on it. that has to have the 2 screws out from the top as you have to remove the air vents. to get to the screws for the stereo.

Good lord...I don't think I want to go through all of that
