This was the first drawfee video in my recommendeds that I ever clicked on, and the sheer amount of effort put into the first drawing, just to have it end up the way it did, made me laugh so hard I cried. I come back to this video every once in a while just to laugh-cry over it again. I love this so much.

The reason the first drawing's eyes look frightening is because we can see her iris above her pupil. Most people's eyelids rest right at the top of the pupil.
