I love those adorable armored legs of Tess! Do you bring the littles inside at night from predators? I encouraged egg laying behavior by digging a hole, then back filling with soft sand. I did this in several areas in the yard and Ricki always laid eggs by a tree with a shady area. 🐢🥚💚 love seeing the shelldren
Tess is the best! 😄 I do bring the younglings in at night, even with the electric fencing and traps throughout the property it’s just too much risk. Thanks for the tip on the egg laying behavior! Im planning on adding sand/topsoil to the edges on the enclosure. From what I’ve seen on other channels they tend to lay along the walls. Crossing my fingers for some hatchlings this year 🙌
My red footed will be 2 this January & my husband & I decided he needs his outside enclosure built this spring. I'm trying to figure out how I want to set it up, but I have no idea how to keep the humidity up outdoors. Could I get a small greenhouse that he has the option to go in & out of. Then just check the temp. Inside of it regularly?
That would definitely be worth a shot! Having plants in the greenhouse will help raise humidity as well as some kind of sprinkler system. Hope it all works out well!
Awesome Terence! 🐢👍❤️ -Kevin
Can’t get enough Tess. Enclosures look great!
Thanks Rob! Glad you enjoy Tess as much as I do 😄
Lovely enclosures, your torts are lucky 🐢 🍀
