I really like how music goes from sadness to happiness
It literally is loss to acceptance it’s really beautiful
it sounds more like emptiness because its used in the combination of someone searching for their meaning in life which is why the music then turns to a more happy theme to show that emptiness being filled.

I'd say, both the beginning and ending are haunting. Probably would've helped if they toned the music down, cause the music was crescendo'ed when you'd want it to tone down to show some sort of acceptance and peace.
Pretty impressed how it change so smoothly.
I love how the main difference here (other than Rick being Rick) is that she wasn’t looking for the person who killed her husband, rather her husband himself. She wasn’t looking for revenge, she was looking for comfort, that’s what set them apart and allowed one of them to end up happy.

Makes me think, maybe if Diane dissapeared instead of rick knowing she was murdered if he would have went on his revenge spree trying to avenge her. The same could be said about this girl, if she knew rick prime had deleted slow Mobius from everywhere, would she have chased after him too? Or would she still be able to move on?
Even if she wanted revenge. Its rick who killed her husband. Just one of many victim.
Well rick got it harder cause he himself killed his family even if it was another version of yourself you can't just let it go cause the person you hated the most is yourself and killing yourself is like suicide and it rick to begin with his head is already mess up as it is

Healing works different for everyone it's stupid to assume one isn't a well adjusted adult if they can't happen to heal from a very traumatic event.
She also didn't lose her child or have her spouse and young child brutally murdered right in front of her....
She dosent remember his dum sht. He was ripped out of all the multiverses meaning he never existed and she holds onto the sliver that she might have known the man. Never having to remember who he was and never knew how he died
If Rick would've moved on, we wouldn't have got this show to begin with

I don’t know why but I find the deceased spouses placed side by side to be really sweet. They both get to still be there and watch their families grow up❤

It's nice because neither of their new spouses is trying to replace the old. Because a lost love can't be replaced. You can love again, but there will always be a hole that person left. Over time it may get smaller, but it never goes away. And those pictures let both partners know that they understand. That when you're crying on his birthday or your old wedding anniversary there won't be jealousy or judgement, just understanding. You don't have to choose your lost partner's memory or your new partner's love. Both can coexist.

If this kept going, she probably would’ve, I don’t know, began going on adventures with her children or grandchildren across space or something. Maybe even travel the multiverse. Very glad she found that guy who was in the same boat as her.

That concept sounds very interesting.
Someone should make a show like that, about someone losing the person they love, falling into a spiral of depression and traveling the multiverse with their grandkid.
I love the fact that the song ended with a major chord instead of the minor chord of Rick's crybaby backstory original song, making us know that the cycle is broken and there's no more pain from the exploits of rick prime.

I had a real moment like this when I was a kid. My dad deployed 3 times from when I was 6 to when I was 8-9. I guess one day my mom and I were looking at pictures and I asked who that was standing next to me in my football gear. He is still very much alive, but it’s crazy how kids can seemingly forget their parents if there isn’t enough interaction while they’re young.
I’ve known kids who literally have whole conversations with their parent daily and still sometimes don’t recognize them from pictures if they where younger or had a different haircut. It’s crazy how much effort and learning goes into face recognition.
Makes me wonder if I would recognize my family if I didn’t see them for a whole decade.

man never happend to me I mostly never saw my mother till 15 years old (only like one time per years in chirstmas till i was 7 years old then never saw here again till my 15 years) but still remember vividly what she looked like sound like and act like. I could never think of forgetting someone I loved.

I don't put it past op's father being distant while at home because i know the type of guys that deploy that many times have problems forming or continuing personal relationships. Love though can be a significant core memory that your brain attaches to a person or place

Those pictures are of their erased loved ones, not their exes. And, it is the pain of losing them that united two survivors together.

She almost became Rick. Our Rick. Almost started an entire restart of how Rick made the universe as is. But unlike Rick, during her travels she found someone to share her pain and grieve in peace. And because of that she was able to find peace and comfort.
Well tbf, she doesn't have the abilities that Rick does. What kind of bystander would think "I swear revenge on Thanos" or something like they could actually do anything? She HAS to move on. Rick is more stuck because he has the dilemma of maybe being able to get his revenge vs maybe failing miserably and wasting his life. She doesn't even get that chance, for better or worse, though it seems to have made her happier.

I love how they both accept their lovers are deceased but still move on to find another but still don't forget the ones they lost. So this means they both are in a happier ending.
This is by far the most thought provoking post credits scene on the show, loved that they decided to link the scenes from Rick’s life to slow mobius’s wife but catch us off guard with the ending

Does anyone think this may be a sign that Rick would be able to find love with someone someday, who went through the same pain he did?
The main difference is Missslo still had her children and found someone in her life. Beth was taken from Rick as well as Diane. She at least had her kids to live for .

I love that they used the same music as in Rick‘s backstory. It shows how Rick Prime affected the multiverse, and how things COULD have gone if Slo‘s wife didn‘t meet that guy. Although there‘s likely other versions of his wives across infinity now going after Slo Mobius.
Rick is still the author of his own misery at the end of the day, so killing Rick Prime wouldn't be enough for him.
A good example of the old saying, “the best revenge is not to be like your enemy.”

I just noticed that her new partner had also lost a spouse of their own and was also out for revenge. Didn’t notice that before
I thought it at first was about the timeline fixing itself based on how the child didn't know who the father was, and the other person filled in that role/void eventually leading to a scene where the father originally was always with another.
Someone said this earlier, but if you notice, rick was looking for Diane's killer, while this lady shows the alien a picture of slo mobius, showing she was looking for him, her search wasn't based on revenge, but comfort, breaking the cycle that rick prime created, also have a tat of her lost husband reflected by the new alien doing the same..
I just noticed they go on a journey similar to Rick’s but they find someone on that same journey, they weren’t alone.

During ricks crybaby backstory, when ricks eating ramen, theres an alien that’s the same species as the one ms mobius runs into in the same place.
I just realised there are a lot of “life goes on” montages in Rick and Morty.
I love how rick and morty used to be a wacky adult cartoon about back to the future then slowly changing into a heartfelt series still about rick and morty but also building on other characters and side characters

This is one of the best bits of the show, because they didn't try to make a fart joke or something stupid, they just make a short but very wholesome story about moving on. That's very rare for this show.
They can undo it if they really wanted to, science in sci-fi is basically magic,
Oh yeah there’s even IRL science that a sufficiently resourced person like Rick could use to make this happen you don’t even need fictional science to pull it off.

There’s also time travel which yeah Rick rarely uses but this case would be justified.
I really like this post ending scene that shows us someone else going trough the same thing as rick but instead of continuesly persuing a road with no end, she decided to accept help amd heal herself instead of being more cracked apart each day until she mightve ended up like rick. Its honestly a bittersweet parallel of what rick couldve become if he just let go
I love that this is just Rick’s story, but instead if he reached out for help rather than pushing everyone away to the max
Nah this is too wholesome for Rick and Morty, one of them definitely instantaneously exploded in the next scene
I love how in the last few seconds of the final scene you see pictures of each adult with their step kids alone. Showing just how well integrated and beloved they are as a family.
This one of my favorite post credits scenes from Rick & Morty. One of those , trauma and pain will lead you down a dark path for who knows how long. But someone and somehow will come into your life and bring you back up from your lowest point

Really interesting note to end the episode on. I mean it's on the nose, but a great way of just visualizing how empty the cycle of revenge makes you feel. It's something we've all probably read like 10 times now but it's always true. Rick's ending after getting revenge is to be rewarded with nothing. And heck, her target for revenge is already dead. It's better to move on and heal than anything.

This could have been Rick. He chose carnage and destruction over peace and acceptance to process his grief and lust for revenge.
I wish any single parent to find a happy ending like this, find a new beginning and be there for your kids and yourself. As a product of a broken home this warms my room temp heart.

I really love how the shows Rick’s actions aren’t necessarily justified. Yeah, his wife died but this shows he could’ve just moved on lived a better life, just because his wife died didn’t mean he had a traumatize his entire family and ruin every relationship he ever had with anyone

My boyfriend and I have an incense area. Every morning I light one for my late husband, and one for his mother who passed when he had only just become a man. We share stories and my boyfriend knew my late husband very well. In our eyes my husband is not an Ex. He is and will always be my husband. My boyfriend has been the sole reason my children are thriving again. I was keeping us alive, but he brought us a lot of light. The way the kids play at the end, while we see the shrine area and the couple become content together was so beautifully done.
I never thought it possible to find love or be happy again. I truly thought my days would consist of the constant pain of the endless cycle. I found the need to go on, and to act happy for my girls. I thought my life would just be me wearing masks so others don’t constantly feel bad for my sorrow. My husband grew up with me, had children with me and was with me for 12 years. My mother told me that one day I would just look at someone and say “oh wow. I do love you.” And that it would not be the same love, but something new entirely. She was right.
As much as I want to scream, beg and dig him up;
He will never come home and he would want me to try to keep looking towards the future.
And I did one day look at my now boyfriend and said to myself
“Oh my god. I do love him and want him safe and happy. But this is so different”.
If anyone else out there is widowed as well, know that I send you so much tender love. I send so many prayers and remember to go break shit and scream when you need to. More importantly;
Allow yourself to be happy. Give yourself permission to move forward in whatever way that is for you. You CAN do this. Grief is a large flower, but it will not be your whole garden. I promise.

There’s a theory saying that evil Morty erased the man’s wife. This is so in nearly all reality the time girl would refind love and settle down instead of going the way of Rick and hunt down and cause many issues
They probably did the healthiest thing. Move on but never forget. Never forget your loved ones. It's okay and very healthy to miss them. But so is moving on. You're only bringing yourself down if you try to hold on to the past.

Remember your loved ones. But don't let their memory keep you from experiencing the now.

Spoilers:
There's this machine called the omega machine and rick prime used it to erase all versions of that guy from all timelines
Rick Prime erased Slo Morbius from all dimensions, so he's dead. His wife realized somethings wrong cause she can't remember him. Then she ends up on a journey trying to find him/his killer just like Rick did after his wife was killed. Except instead of spiraling out of control like rick, Mrs Slo Morbius here ran into someone else whose wife was apparently also erased in all realities and they fell in love and settled down and moved on from their losses (while keeping their pictures to not forget them).
Which is good cause the guy that killed their partners is already dead anyway so they got no one to get revenge on

This feels like an alrernate route for Rick if he wasnt too Rickish.
But fact is, he never got that chance, since the only other people that may have understood him were other ricks, but he is one of only a handfull of Ricks that understand the Loss of Diane.

To be fair, she didn't witness her husband being murdered right in front of her eyes like Rick did. So, she only suffered from the confusion of her lost lover.
Technically hers is worse. He knows his wife is dead but she is constantly thinking about how he is like idk lost and she needs to find him. He just wants to kill Rick prime which won't do anything.
I like how it kinda plays out like ricks backstory from that one episode even same music

I jsut realized she went in the same spiral as Rick... but then found happiness. It's wistful, but profound. That she didn't truly sulk in her own emotions and got out of it.

Im glad Rick and Morty recovered some of the emotional bits they've been missing since the first seasons
This was a really well done mirroring of what Rick went through but thing is, Rick never found anyone who he could reconnect to. He was sadly left alone to slowly fester into the self hating smartest man in his universe.
