    Joe, I thought you should know that having a key for the ignition is actually much better in terms of not getting your car stolen than having keyless entry and start.

I ran into a couple of wicked rain storms & it kept me glued to the road. I also Marshalled the Rocky Mountain Rally a few years ago, when Subaru was winning. I have a 2023 WRX base. Bought it in August. I absolutely love it. I've owned a Honda Civic DX, Honda Civic LX and a Honda Civic Si as well as the WRX. WRX is hands down my favourite vehicle I've owned. I love the way it drives, there's no rev hang (the rev hang is one of the reasons I got rid of the Si. It drove me nuts in that car. It was my biggest complaint when I had the car) which I love as it makes shifting in the car smooth. I love everything about the car. The looks of the car have also grown on me now that I have the car. It's my first Subaru and I'm really happy with the experience so far. And I'm 6'2 and I have a lot more headroom in this car than I did in the Si so that's a bonus for me. Had no headroom in the Si due to the sunroof.

  • @bretthansen8166
    @bretthansen8166 7 месяцев назад +15

    The base is the fastest VB WRX as it’s the lightest, also has a solid roof without a sunroof which is better for structural rigidity.
    There won’t be many 6MT AWD gasoline turbo cars made much longer, this car will be sought after in the future.
    The base dual screen infotainment also looks much cleaner than the gaudy full screen version which is piano black and will scratch easily.
    The base is the version to buy for peope who “modify” their car and want the most structurally sound and lightest version, the HP is the same. But it’s the fastest of all VBs. Just needs the TR brembo brakes 👍🏻

    • @bretthansen8166
      @bretthansen8166 7 месяцев назад +8

      Also the base doesn’t have any the modern nonsense. It’s a turn key 🔑 ignition, no push button start. Doesn’t have the “eyesight” emergency systems which if you happen to need a new windshield you don’t need a “certain” version in order to collaborate it.
      No heated seats, just a drivers car without added gizmos as it should be.
      The base model 2022-23 will be the ones people look for in the future.

    In Canada the base WRX is the same price $33,500+freight and sales tax but in CAD which is like getting a 25% discount. The residuals are also phenomenal. Your looking at a 25,000km/yr lease from 24-60months for like $400-$425 USD with zero down. Might as well go shorter term if used buyers are going to subsidize it 🤷

    Lovin that BLUE. Front end looks good. Sweet hood scoop. too much plastic on this car. Weak stock exhaust setup although the design is nice looking. Wheels are not up to my standards for a performance car; however the base price is fair. AWD is always a plus. MPGs are terrible for a 4 banger that isn't that impressive. The best feature on this car would be that manual gearbox which is a major upgrade for the old 5 speeds that were complete garbage.

    Cool car - but it's really odd Subaru has given up on rally and what feels like a somewhat heart-hearted WRX - this car (especially in blue!) was an institution back in the bugeye era. This WRX is still cool but the industry-wide excitement is gone. I miss the glory days of the STi/Evo wars. Still awesome to see an honest, AWD sedan with a manual for a reasonable price - great job Subaru! And I like the looks 👍
