If you wanna be friends with an artist/fursuit maker, please don't put them on a pedestal. Complimenting their artwork is good, but don't like belittle your own work or like act asif they are a god. If you are an artist yourself, ask the person if they wanna do an art trade. Also from my experience commissioning/trying to commission a smaller fursuit maker also works lmao. (This is how I made my best fur friend but like it may not work for everyone)
AliPyro Yeah, I commissioned two small makers to make the parts for my suit and the second to make the head. We talk often and just share about our lives. They're both really sweet people and I enjoy doing business with them and just overall talking to them about their favorite things.

These are really great tips! Also if you're a shy person it helps just to make yourself talk to people if you can! At my first time suiting at a bowling meet I was terrified. But instead of standing there awkwardly I made myself talk to some of the other fursuiters and they all immediately showered me with love and compliments! Even if it just starts out with a compliment, it's a great way to meet people and talk. I've been suiting for almost two years now and I still have a long way to go with being social and animated, but I'm getting there!
I can really say right now, that I am pretty terrible online when it comes to making friends and socializing. It does not mean I am a bad person or doing something wrong, I am just kind of awkward when it comes to talking to people and I am usually not much of a chatty person. It's the texting part I really do not like a lot to be honest... I don't accept or send requests to people unless I am close friends with them. I am much more social and outgoing with myself in person because I can express myself better and have fun. So yeah, but anyways thanks for sharing these good tips. I can just say this: I love making friends, but it can be kind of hard. That's because I usually try to find friends that I can click with of similar interest. That's just kind of how I am. Otherwise if I know the person is cool and fun to be around, hopefully he or she is not bad news then I am okay with them.

Tip #11 - Talk about your hobbies, likes, and goals. Sharing your opinions with people is usually a good way to make friends or at least have a discussion over something (without the drama of course). It can lead to you learning to respect people and consider other things you may not have thought of before. Show interest in the things you care about, but also try to see if there's anything else you might like. Just an idea though. Great video Ace.

What does your character struggle with? Does your character have a romantic interest? Do you do art yourself? Who is your favorite artist?
Awesome video, Ace, you covered pretty much all the bases! I also wanted to bring up that not every "friendship" is gonna work out. Just like how you're (probably) not friends with every single person in your school, you can't befriend everybody you start a conversation with. Sometimes people don't have enough in common, or personalities don't mesh, and that's okay! Don't try to force it if it feels like you're not clicking. There will be other opportunities to make great friends!
I think my advice, since I'm not using it, is to be a great person back. What I mean by this is if they're going through a tough time, be supportive, it will help you and maybe the person get through the day. :)

About the breaking the Ice part,YES. Please don't just send me some Random message with just "hi". I can't really start a conversation from just a hello. Often those convos just end up being : "Hi" "Hi" "How are you?" "Good" Even sending something like a silly gif can be good way to say hey and give you something to talk about. Also some People you guys may not click with. And that's okay. That just means that it will take longer to make friends with said person.

little rolling bean that's quite rude. Just because you aren't dressed as a character applies as much online as it does in the real world. Only 20% of furries actually have a fursuit. They should still let you talk as long as you share their common interest.

One way I've started to make friends in the furry fandom has been taking requests on Furry Amino. I know the app doesn't have the best reputation but so far I've actually had a really great experience there ^^
Here's another tip: Don't try to push a friendship. Yeah message people, see how their days have been, and all that, but if you're having to scavenge for something to talk about and it hasn't even been that long, maybe you two just don't connect.

I’m pretty introverted and when I saw the name of the video I was like “Oh this is going to be obvious and kind of sad”, but then I watched and it was actually useful. I’m both happy and sad now
I’m lucky to have one of the bigger cons, as in like 1,500-2,000 people right nearby. As in like the nearest city and it’s a 1 hour drive, 1.5 hours if traffic at most to get there. I tried to go last year but during february vacation I see my grandparents, but this year they can’t travel (grandpa’s getting old..) so maybe we might either drive down to their main home or stay here, and if we stay here maybe I can go! I don’t think there are many, if not any in-town furries here in my town though, as it’s sorta small.

I've had a decent number of these, that get followed up by 'why aren't you replying?'. I've pretty much regretted all those messages that started like this that I bothered to reply to X-x For me definitely, I let friendships happen naturally. They're not something I can force. It's all about how you engage with each other and how much you 'click' over time. Btw, do all AZN Furry RUclipsrs like to do lists? We sure like our numbers, don't we? =p

Honestly when I get the message "let's be friends!" Out of the blue it's not only pressuring but also kinda scary because you dont know who this person is! They could be a good person but the way they decide to approach you is kinda odd and can make a person questionable. Thats why I personally recommend not doing that

First off, congratulations on your fursuit!!! When you go to a convention, you should definitely check out things like fursuit games and photoshoots :D I end up meeting lots of interesting people just by striking up a conversation at these events!
One thing, what if your local community is really toxic and immature? In Vegas, the community is really bad, so most of my close friends and I don't really get involved anymore. ): I rather interact in person because it does get lonely only having friends that live in other states.

Any advice for how an extreme hermit can be a little more outgoing? I really want to make friends but whenever I try I get a (mild) panic attack. I'm basically a russian young fur and in my city I don't know *any* young furs.. In my school I'm not sure any yound furs exist and there is a con that can happen in Moscow (that is a city close to me though i dont live there) but as I said i am a yound fur and can't go there at all even with parents.

For me definitely, I let friendships happen naturally. They're not something I can force. It's all about how you engage with each other and how much you 'click' over time.

How I got into the furry fandom is because my school supports the furry fandom and it was called the furry freinds club and I thought it was one of those clubs where people talk and share opinions on animals but it was something way cooler... it taught me how I made my fursona.There wasn't many people there besides me though...:(

My tip: Don't message a stranger immediately saying things like *cuddles you* or *boops your nose* etc Most people don't like being touched by strangers and even if you're both furries and the interaction is entirely online, it can still be uncomfortable!
About the last point... ,,Quality over quantity”:

Honestly when I get the message "let's be friends!" Out of the blue it's not only pressuring but also kinda scary because you dont know who this person is! They could be a good person but the way they decide to approach you is kinda odd and can make a person questionable. Thats why I personally recommend not doing that

Ah! Ace I think you are just a completely wonderful person-.. animal I suppose. I found this very helpful as I am someone who has trouble making friends as well as keeping them! I’m close to getting my first fursuit and I don’t have any furry friends and I’m very nervous I’ll be out of place the whole time at the con (if I do get the suit!) do you have any more tips on meeting people at cons? I’m also a bit young (younger then 20) and I’m not sure people will feel comfortable with me!
First off, congratulations on your fursuit!!! When you go to a convention, you should definitely check out things like fursuit games and photoshoots :D I end up meeting lots of interesting people just by striking up a conversation at these events!

One thing, what if your local community is really toxic and immature? In Vegas, the community is really bad, so most of my close friends and I don't really get involved anymore. ): I rather interact in person because it does get lonely only having friends that live in other states.

When I go to a con, nobody really wanted to be friends with meh because they already have friends there. And that’s why I was lonely at a con I waited a year for ;-;
Any advice for how an extreme hermit can be a little more outgoing? I really want to make friends but whenever I try I get a (mild) panic attack. I remember I once walked up to someone I overheard taking about a topic I liked (cars), I opened my mouth to ask him if he ever heard of Colin McRae, (they were taking about rally) but when I tried to talk I made a weird noise, turned red, and walked away. I'm basically a russian young fur and in my city I don't know *any* young furs.. In my school I'm not sure any yound furs exist and there is a con that can happen in Moscow (that is a city close to me though i dont live there) but as I said i am a yound fur and can't go there at all even with parents.
