The thing about master mode isn't just that the health pools are so much larger and most mobs you would be on-par with in normal will fuck you up in 2-3 hits in master mode, it's that they also take 20% less kb than normal. 10% in expert mode was bearable, but the AI in this game weren't built to take 4/5 the knockback they originally started with, hence why you can stab a jungle bat in the face with a spear and it will keep trucking toward you like nothing happened and kamikaze 1/2 your healthbar.
Great video, just an FYI on what the armor rating means. In Master mode, the damage you take from enemies is reduced by the same value as your armor rating (classic mode and expert mode are a little different). So with 10 armor, you take 10 less damage from enemies. You were right when you said increasing your armor by 4x won't mean you take 4x less damage, I just wanted to clarify that it does reduce the damage you take by 4x. A blue slime does 21 damage with no armor. With full copper armor (6 defense), a blue slime will do 15 damage.
So I'm a long time terraria player, been playing it since around jun 2011 (about a month after its release). One tip I highly recommend, especially for newer players who may not even know they exist: Frostburn arrows are an amazing early game arrow if you aren't using jester arrows. The requirement for making them are 10 wooden arrows and 1 ice torch (which is just an ice block and torch). The debuff they apply is stronger than that of a flaming arrow, and they have higher base damage than both wooden and flaming arrows.
Just farm bunnies and squirrels near your base for food and goldfish while it's raining. Fishing sucks in the beginning unless quests and takes spots from your inventory.
Loved this and your explanations were very good. I have a request/suggestion i would love to see. A full mastermode playthrough with a very detailed and explaining everything for new players that bought the game just now. Because some players are old on the franchise and just assume people know how the game works and as i(old but stopped earlier) am quite lost on some old information and would watch your series. There are so many new things that i am quite lost to be honest.

I recently stated mastermode playthrough I got a wand of sparking with a good modifier and went to corruption and build a box in sky (so corruption worms can't reach me) And spend some time grinding, and I already have an ancient shadow armor, basically it's same as shadow armor which you can craft after beating eater of worlds ... It takes time but I think that's a good strategy for mastermode players
fireflies are great too, pair that up with a reinforced fishing rod or if you killed EoC already use those ores you got and make the evil biome variant of fishing poles
Ouch, there will be some knocking about somwhere but if you really are struggling to find them its probably best to start a small normal world and grab them.

A lot of Potions such as Endurance Require Fish, so be very aware of fishing.

Spelunking potions should help you find heart's, increasing your HP will stop you being killed by the annoying goblins :)
