🎶On a Himiway, a Himiway; a Himiway a Himiway. In the Highlands, the snowy Highlands, The Foxes ride tonight. In the Highlands, the icy Highlands, Poor Shaun, he had a skite! 🎶
Great vlog lads. Beautiful scenery and a great advert for different ways to explore the countryside. The Outtakes had me crying with laughter, just pure silliness. Thank you for bringing some sunshine. ☀️
Best things for bad knees. I got diagnosed with osteoarthritis in my right knee last spring. Got an e Trike (coz me balance had gone due to shingles). It's the best thing ever, i get all me shopping done on it (got a back carrier) so no heavy bag lifting. For going up steep hills & long rides along the seafront it's the dogs doohdahs!. My physiotherapist is really pleased that i got this & i've progressed so much, i hardly need my stick when i go out for a walk. Keep cycling Shaun & stay visible & safe on the roads. When the weather warms up Colin won't be able to get you off it.😁 Enjoy the lovely outdoors, both of you.😁👍🚴🚴
Being a biker myself I really enjoyed that thank you. Its great Shaun can join you on some adventures and it was lovely to see him out. Ive friends who have e bikes and they really do get a workout, as you say the assist can be low or high. I hope your hooked Shaun, well done you two and many thanks for showing us your route in the wonderful scenery xx
Thin may be in but fat is where its at ! Those fat tires do give better stability on the loose stuff but anyone can drop their bike on sheer ice ! The beauty of e bikes are that you can dial in the power for assist or not just like an exercise machine and still get a good workout and get back home ! Im looking foreward to more videos of you both on them and more of your spectacular photography !
Way to go Shaun! I'm SO proud of you! 42 miles on your first ride - that is impressive! ( So glad you didn't hurt yourself on your "slip"). Looking forward to more of your Highland bike rides! ❤🐶🐶❤
So good to see Shaun out and about with you Colin, looked like fun - if you forget the cold!! Hope your feet thawed out ok Shaun. What an amazing place to live.
My dad had a biking accident while visiting up here in Scotland on Boxing day. He was on a unlit bridle path (ex-railway) hit a tree stump, broke his collar bone and fractured his ball socket thingy in his hip. he only 72. Three days after getting out of hospital he went to a Wetherspoons for a pint!🤣
Aw Shaun! That's what it's like here in Colorado, you can't tell the difference between ice and standing water! Glad you took the opportunity to ride in the 2 hours of daylight you get. You can tell by the end of the ride it was getting dark. Stay Safe! 🥰
Hubby and I love our e-bikes too. Have you tried the cycling helmets that have a speaker and microphone built in to the helmet? You can pair them together and easily chat to each other, even if you are 100m+ away from each other. They are an absolute game changer, as you can both chat to each other along the trail without yelling ahead or behind!
A few q&a's ago, when you were still on Narrowboat Silver Fox, I asked if you'd ever buy an e-bike and, at the time, you said no way. Like Sean, I need to watch my knees... so I'm glad you got them now. Like my husband and I, you can be cycle-paths together. Peace friends.
Great video guys and the electric bikes are a good idea. It does get pretty cold that high up in Scotlland but such incredible scenery. Keep well and safe. James.
Congrats on the new wheels!! Did you know they make heated hand grips and studded tires? Oh yeah, heated clothes too😂 Ebikes are a wonderful thing! I set up a recumbent trike with a motor assist but it has throttle override for when I overdo it (back injury). I regret not getting fat tires but I was tired of sitting around waiting and wanted to ride again. Enjoy the ride!!
Love it, Gents! I'm not big for lots of activity in freezing weather, myself--more of a drink a hot cup and stay under the covers person! Thanks for letting me live vicariously through you!
Good choice of bike. Stunning scenery. I think Scotland is at its best on a cold clear day....as long as you are wearing the right gear. Heated gloves may be useful.
We love our e-bikes we take them on our forest roads & trails here in the Pacific Northwest of Oregon USA. Wait until you can pack a picnic and go out so much fun.
I've had a fat tire bike about three years now and find it great fun. I don't ride as much as I used to now that I'm 68, but do enjoy it a lot. Best wishes from a cold Central Michigan...
I just love the way you two get along and have fun I wish I could be with you there in the highlands because I am half Irish and it's like a dream one day to maybe go there but I live there through you so y'all have a good day and be careful
Happy 2023! You both look great! The only thing with the bikes is that Ottis and Ollie are not with you. Wait... great idea; get yourself a kiddie bike attachment and then you can take them along. Here’s to new adventures! Cheers!
Hey Shaun and Colin.I see that you all are in the e bike craze. Richard and I just had are wedding anniversary and he got us e bikes. I actually think they are cool. Shaun I can almost relate to your fall. At first, I was a bit wobbly riding the bike. I almost had a nasty fall, but some kind away, I was able to catch myself. Ever since, I have been reluctant to ride. I guess it's like riding a bike. You have to practice. You all have have some beautiful scenery to go e biking. I hope you all enjoy riding them. Take care.
Great vid guys. I am grateful that Shaun wasn’t hurt on the fall . Lovely drone footage by the way - that’s amazing that you could handle the drone while also cycling . Greetings from Canada
Brilliant episode really enjoyed it. I'm thinking of getting an e-bike so this was really helpful. I live in "Independent State of Shap" 😉 (Lake District National Park to the West, and Yorkshire Dales National Park to the East, about 5 minutes by car into either) and have been thinking about a bike for ages. I have an old mountain bike but I'm more of a Shaun athlete than a Colin 🤣 so this looks like a great compromise. Basically I'm after a bike to cycle five miles down to the pub and back .....if I'm honest lol Again enjoyable really informative video and glad nobody suffered too much harm in testing out the bikes on ice for our entertainment 😉👍 Cheers lads.
As usual a great tour of the surrounding scenery. The bikes are interesting. 40+ miles is not bad as far as range goes. The fat tire are an interesting idea for off road. I think on road it will hurt. The bikes may get more range when it is warmer, the cold affects them.
Enjoyed this a lot. Hubs and I have new ebikes but I’m afraid to try riding. I’m 73 and worry about falling. I need to get over my fear and try it out. I definitely won’t ride in any ice!
Left the UK, 18 years ago. Going back for week in the spring and spending some time in North Wales and Scotland. Will be interesting to see how the country has changed. Thank you for the smiles you both give !!
Hi Colin and Shaun, "HAPPY NEW YEAR" to you both, just caught up watching your vlogs, love your knowledge on all that you do with your life, you both seem so happy in your land life😊I wish you the best of health and happiness ,love watching your vlogs, take care both, xxx
Gawd Shaun your not old your younger than us and we are only just having a boat built 😂. We need electric bikes too but probably fold up ones, your are so cool. We have also adored Scotland for many years and go all the time, it’s a magical place and we so get why you stayed ❤❤
We have foldaway Brompton bikes on our narrowboat which we have fitted with electric assist motors and we love them. They are just the job for exploring the places we moor up and for collecting shopping etc. Not tried them in the snow though lol. Those fat tyres look the business.
Loved that episode, looked like great fun just a wee bit cold. Bikes look great definitely going to visit site and check out bikes. Keep up the good work.👍
Beutifully shot & thank you for New Years eve live vlog watched on new years day & was extremely enjoyable(Edinburgh fireworks had to take precedence)❤
Those are brilliant bikes! I'm super envious! You can get studded tyres for ice, too. Studies have shown that people who own electric bikes actually get more exercise than accoustic bike owners because they choose the bike so much more often! My physio guy said cycling is the best exercise for dodgy knees, so hopefully it works well for you!
We ride fat tire bikes here in the snow.. basically the only bike that works in Alaska most of the year 😕 haha we even have studded fat tires for the glare ice.
Great fat bikes, really pleased you've made a video of your eventful ride out. Great fall off shaune but Colin was there to put you back together again. Corned beef hash one of my favourite dishes. Drone in a tree, too. guess it was laughing so hard at shaunes off it didn't see the tree! Gravel bike is defo a better bike for those roads and wood rides but e bikes are a fabulous invention have fun and see you next time on a kayak together maybe eh... love you guys stay safe. Kev the kayaker from Brinklow...
What a great adventure for the dead of winter. It's gorgeous there even when it's al frozen over. I'm glad you found a way to get out and about together. Thanks for sharing it.
Nice video guys, keep them tires at a low pressure on fatbikes of a about 12psi or lower....doesn't bounce so much... I love my fatbike.... I just live down the road from you lads.
I want one! I would like to think the battery would last longer here in the Mississippi Delta. Something to look forward to having!!! Thank you so much for this video.
Superb result with y’all’s rude about since neither Shaun nor the bike got damaged. Can’t wait to see what you post next. Please share hugs among the four of you from me. Bye for now from over here in Portland, Oregon.
Aww bless ya Shaun glad you’re ok .. those bikes though, wow, I thought my tyres on my voodoo hoodoo were big .. they look amazing bikes and like Shaun, my old knees could do with some assistance. Fabulous vlog and beautiful quiet roads xx
Shame on Shaun. I was having a cup of black tea enjoying you two talk about the e-bikes, and just when I took a gulp of tea, I abruptly saw Shawn with a pot on his head, and accidentaly spit out some tea on my computer screen and keyboard. It was hilarious, but I blame him for that. Thanks for bringing some laughter on this Friday morning.
Vintage sounds nicer than old and getting on a bit. Respect for the fact that you got 'a cunning stunt' out flawlessly.
Great outing 😊. Keep on moving guys.

Awesome vlog today. Love that you’re out and about with you new “toys”. Missed the dogs, though. Enjoy your weekend. Cheers❤❤🦴🦴
An excellent addition! Wishing you many adventures on your new bikes.
My God!, you two are so cute! ❤

Hi guys. Shaun should try some knee supports.

Great drone shots. Your videography skills are very professional. Have fun and keep well.
Those jackets look smart.👍
Those bikes look fab. Pleased you didn’t hurt yourself Shaun, Colin you are the same as me laughing, I did when Steve fell off his in a stream. 😂😂 x
Love you two to bits great fun👍👍👍😂😂
Great video guys and the electric bikes are a good idea. It does get pretty cold that high up in Scotlland but such incredible scenery. Keep well and safe. James.
Cool scenery and great ebikes
Congrats on the new wheels!! Did you know they make heated hand grips and studded tires? Oh yeah, heated clothes too😂

Enjoy the ride!!
Beautiful scenery glad you can enjoy together. Please pet Otis and Ollie for me
Happy New Year. Nice to see Shaun out biking with you x
Amazing drone footage, and what amazing scenery.
Glad you enjoyed it
have fun with your bikes, just need a carrying device for the dogs now
Shaun and Colin, Nanna Naps are now so old fashioned. You should now be going to have a SCAN. A Senior Citizens Afternoon Nap!!
🤣🤣🤣
Love it, Gents! I'm not big for lots of activity in freezing weather, myself--more of a drink a hot cup and stay under the covers person! Thanks for letting me live vicariously through you!
Good choice of bike. Stunning scenery. I think Scotland is at its best on a cold clear day....as long as you are wearing the right gear. Heated gloves may be useful.
What fun! Well, except for the falling down bit. Love ya! 💖💖💖💖
