    A look into Chris's contribution to modern movement would be amazing!

    Cool to see how different comp was back then.

    This is why they set wacky coordination stuff in today’s world cups - if they just set regular hard boulders there would be too many strong people like Sharma who could just flash all of them!

      I mean you can always set so hard that not everyone can do it. However it's just not that exciting to see athletes give it one try, fail and then basically wait out the 4 minutes because you don't have the power left to give it a serious second try anway. In addition it's very hard for anyone to appreciate the difficulty of these kind of routes if you aren't into serious climbing yourself. These flashy coordinaten / parcour routes can be appreciated even by casual viewers so it's better for marketing the sport.

    Die Griffe… und vor allem der Stil der Boulder!!
    Heute würde man sagen: was für furchtbar „greisliche“ Boulder 😂😂🤣
    Ein historisches Dokument , merci dafür 🙏

      Jede Zeit hat ihren eigenen Kletterstil und ihre eigens dafür geschaffene Boulder. Ich find es gut was er da macht und wie es für damalige Verhältnisse geschraubt wurde.

    anyone know why at 1:09 he goes for the other foothold (the one farthest left) before going for the last hold?

    • @kevinpietersenl
      @kevinpietersenl Год назад +1

      I think because his right hand was holding a gaston, so left leg creates a good balance and force for last move. Best for gaston.

    2:51 Is Chris really asking for a brush in German?

    • @felixr792

      I don't think it's him saying this. It's being said in a way only native speakers would say it. Very funny though :DD

      I also think it's another guy saying it. Though it is very uncanny how perfectly the sound matches Sharma's mouth^^

    Das ist Bouldern! Alles andere ist Parkour.
    Das hat wenigstens noch Ähnlichkeit mit Bouldern am Fels.
