Just got this on clearance at CVS and it didn't impress me. My kids love it, though, they think it's fun and keep asking to sweep now so I guess that's a win.
we used to use this at the daycare i worked at and i loved it! the key is to go fast, and press hard, i loved it so much i bought one to use at home, this item takes practice but works great!
The only problem I have with any of these kinds of products is the plastic and cheap construction like handles which can bend/break with too much force, the end up in landfills way too often. I'm not sure it's worth the environmental fall out to replace a regular broom with wooden handle that will last for years.
I'm thinking if the handles screw into the product you might be able to get one that is solid and twist it in. Places like Lowe's or Home Depot have wooden handles or solid metal ones. In the past I've used the wooden ones from a different product to replace a cheap plastic handle and it worked just fine.
I wish most brooms were collapsible for easy storage, or atleast aesthetically hidden in the dustpan so I can store them better in the kitchen without looking at the nasty bristols. Maybe I'm just really picky. I don't like how you have to touch the dustpan to empty on these devices, there should a button.
We have one which is made of metal and plastic but it can’t pick up ham sandwich www.kohls.com/product/prd-394048/bissell-natural-sweep-cordless-sweeper.jsp?skuid=89739152&ci_mcc=ci&FLOOR%20CARE&CSE&CID=shopping15&pid=googleadwords_int&af_channel=CSE&gclid=Cj0KCQjwo6D4BRDgARIsAA6uN1-dakuSy1iKqp-LvcqPawnuwUJKu4Dl_CPMDh2qbfUjLxyi77zavfcaAoVpEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds
You always do some pretty good reviews, on TV they make it look so easy, but you show us the true facts, I was surprized that it did as good a job as it did. thanks Man!
I agree this product has a few shortcomings, but overall, I love mine and imagine if I had kids, they would love sweeping with this thing. I never really liked to sweep until I got this thing, because it’s self-contained, fun to use and pretty damn satisfying to see virtually nothing left after a quick pass 😂
Thank you for your honest and to the point review. I based my purchase of this product on it, and the 2 main reasons I am happy with it are: first I didn't expect miracles from it like I would have by just watching the ad, 2nd I knew how to use it: no carpet, little pressure on the handle, always go forward and a rather slow motion. I don't have pets and I have even wood floors with no grout where stuff could get stuck but if I did I might not have bothered buying it.I use it to do a daily brief pick up of food and dirt on the floor and it works, it also works well on edges. But it's only the bulk of the mess I'm after, I keep the fussy cleaning when I vacuum once a week. It cut my sweeping time by over half: no more slowly dragging dirt all over the living areas and fighting with corners and edges. I'm not fussed about the quality of the materials used but hopefully doing only light work it will last. It was cheap so I won't complain much.
Here is why I wouldn't but buy the broom. 1. The middle roller won't be able to handle the amount of hair from the animals 2. You can't go backwards 3. It's really noisy 4. It looked like it was having trouble when you run it against the walls 5. You can't use it to go under tables because you can't go backwards. 6. You have to pick it up and only go forward 7. The container that picks up stuff is small 8. The handle kept getting loose so he had to tighten it real right. They need a redesign and tweak some things
1. I have huskies, it works. 2. Yes you can, it spins on a 360 degree handle rotation - kind of like a Swiffer wet mop. 3. No, it's actually not. 4. It's pretty good at going against walls; that's what the side brushes are for. 5. Yes, you can, refer to point 2. 6. No, again, refer to point 2. 7. This point I actually agree with, but it works pretty well otherwise. 8. Hasn't happened to me. Have to buy it to try it.
We have one and I use it on our throw rugs in the kitchen. It works just fine on low tight carpet but best on our hardwood floors. Thanks for the review!
I just bought this for $4 from T.J Maxx on clearance. I just had new vinyl flooring put in and was going to buy a broom instead of pulling out my vacuum that has a hard floor button but saw this and thought I'd give it a try. I know it doesn't work on carpet but it picks up pretty well on my kitchen area rugs. I don't think I would have paid $20 but I'm pleased with the job it does for the $4 I spent on it!
I ordered my spin broom without having read or watched any reviews. I am not happy with my purchase because it is loud. I’ll just use it as needed but will stick to a regular broom and dust pan for daily use. Great video!
I wanted to like this product, but as shown here, stuff comes out even while pushing it forward. Returning mine to Wal-Mart where I paid $20. If I have to go over same area 2 or 3 times to get it to lift everytging, I may as well use broom and dustpan.
My dust pan broke so my husband bought this for me. I like it. Dog and cat hair does get stuck in the bristles but it also got stuck in my broom bristles. This comes with a little black comb to get the animal fur out of the brush.
I have a spin broom-green. It's fabulous! I have a new 5000 sf showroom with all hard surface. It's so fun and easy too use. I actually go quite fast and turn it in every direction but backwards. I don't use ANY pressure on it and it holds a lot of debris. Also, I've found no need to pick it up the way you show in the video.
Unnecessary for most people but I feel like it might be a good product for the elderly or disabled who have trouble bending down or carrying heavy objects like a standard vacuum. Also useful if you only have one hand.
Great review. I just bought one and debating on whether I should open it or return it. I have porcelain tike floors in the while house. This product came free with the purchase of the Hurricane Mop. Still haven't opened that either.
On hard floors, I just sweep everything into a pile, and use a vacuum to vacuum the pile up. To avoid the whole annoying line of dust that refuses to sweep into the dust pan lol. That's the fastest, most effect way to do it for me..
I'm glad I found this review... for some reason reason I thought it was electric or battery operated... like a small vacuum... dissapointed but glad I now know.
Thanks for your thorough demonstration. I was tempted to buy one until I saw how much of the collection remained stuck on the brush. One of the problems in our home is our continually molting puppy so I don't think this is for me. I'll stick to my Dyson cordless vacuum.
From Germany and there we have these really old models that are in most households but they go on carpets and hard floor. Made so much better and will last a few generations. My grandma would piss on that model.
I am glad I found your video on the Hurricane Spin Broom, I was thinking of purchasing one for me and one for my Mom. I see you are using this on a smooth surface, so what about rougher surfaces?? I have vinyl flooring in my kitchen, but looks like "grooved" or "rough surface" ceramic tile. I wonder how it works on that.
I haven't used it on a rough ceramic surface. It does seem to miss particles that are in the grooves of the tile, where I will go back at a different direction. I think it would also depend on the depth of the grooves. Sorry that probably isn't much help!
I've noticed every example in the commercial is using a hand-held dustpan, not the one with the handle, just to make it look too tiring to use normal broom and dustpan
I got my Hurricane Spin Broom for $9.99 from PulseTV. I get a lot of stuff from them because they seem to get the best prices for name brand stuff. 😁 I like that I don’t have to bend over to pick up what I am sweeping like you do with a broom and dustpan. Also, the broom I had had a plastic handle so the whole environmental thing gets shot on that too. Personally I like it and it seems to work well for me. 😁
Looks like a manual roomba, the brush setup is similar to some models i've seen. It would be nice if you could at least easily remove the center brush to clear the gunk, something roombas usually do.
Thanks for this video -- curious what "utensil" is the one you prefer to grab in your home when something gets spilled and you have to clean it up right away on the hard floors -- do you have a favorite "go to" unit? :)
Just watched your video comparing Roto, Spin & Easy brooms and that was very helpful too -- but still curious if the Easy Edge would be one you always grab? Thanks
Hey Becky. My wife is more of an obsessive sweeper than I am, but we both grab the Hurricane Spin Scrubber and Easy Edge about equally when there's a spill or something to pick up. Easy Edge is easier to empty and a bit quieter, but they both pick up about the same. We rarely use Roto Sweep. It's just not as good as the others.
Do you think you could possibly try the Rollie next? It is an interesting kitchen gadget and i think you may have a bit of fun reviewing it :) Keep up your reviews though!
good review, thanks ! i was actually going to write a comment about how very too specific this broom would be until the baby powder test ! seems like those front brushes really do the work, not just for relatively big stuff one wouldn't really need such a thing to pick up. i have to wonder if any of them could adapt to carpets.. animal hair just seems to gravitate there !
Thanks for the comment. I've tried these on carpet, and those brushes dig right into it and the broom stops in its tracks. With four pets, I know what you mean about animal hair!
Just a thought...I saw the powder being picked up but what if you cleaned an area, dry then sprinkle with powder the wipe the area with a colored cloth to see how much it really picks up? I'm pretty sure only a mop or vacuum will be the best but it would be nice to see just how much of the waste is picked up. Oh and did it get it out of the grout on the floor? I'm going to put in flooring to replace carpet in my house and would like to know if a shop vac would really be the best way to go but for quick pick up in certain areas would this do the trick until deep clean day? Thanks and hope I'm not a bother. :)
Bought mine at a consignment shop today . Of course the last owner didn't clean the black brush good . I ran it over their floor at the shop cuz little boy drop some paper and it was an example . Well the blue brushes didn't hardly move even tho the black brush did . But it still pick up the paper mess . Thought it had batteries holder , and couldn't figure out where it when. No one knew how it ran , so I knew if I search on RUclips I find a video some where and I did . Thanks for making one cuz least I know now what it does and such . Even for a used dollar spin broom it still pickup even if the blue ones barely moved .
I put together my broom and noticed how cheap and lightweight it was, but when I tried it, it worked great and why would I want extra weight? It doesn't take much downward pressure. I feel it was $20 well spent even though it serves as a "back-up" and I keep it where i can grab it 10 times a day and keep my floor clean between cleanings. I have five cats and they graze all day and spill every other bite on the floor. Cats never eat their spills. Their pet hair, my spills while cooking, the myriad things to be found in my floor every day...it's well worth the price.
Thank you for the invaluable tip, but you might not realize my broom and dust pan are stored in a utility room and the little broom illustrated is kept handy. You might not realize because it is none of your business and your snarky reply, if you feel you must, goes unappreciated.
Do you think it could replace a hoover in a small appartement with no carpeting? Just found out about your channel and subscribed. Great channel idea! Looking forward for more reviews.
Thanks for subscribing! I think it might be possible, depending on the size of the apartment. Having pets makes this a bit more work because the center brush will need to be cleaned more often, as pet hair seems to stick to it.
how much pressure do you have to out on the broom to work well? will it be easy enough for an elderly person to use and do you find one worked better than the other ? maybe you can do a video on which one you find worked the best , try all of them using stuff like flour , sugar, coffee , pet hair , crumbs and cereal because those are the most common spills and see which one picked up the fastest and ease of use. Thanks!
Hey Rosie. I'm waiting to get either Turbo Tiger Sweeper or Roto Sweep, then I'll do a 3 (or 4) way comparison. There is some downward pressure required, but I don't think it's much more effort than using a regular broom. I have heard from people who have said they didn't think this worked, but I still use both of these brooms regularly and find them to work. The only real problem I've found is that dog hair collects on the center brush rather than being deposited into the dustpan, requiring regular cleaning.
Freakin' Reviews well that goes with the territory of owning pets , I am constantly cleaning vacuum brush , dust pan brush etc from dog hair so that's not a problem, but looks like a very useful tool
I’ve got a hack for when you spill dog food.......let the dog in to clean it up lol! Dogs can also be used to clean up human food spills and crumbs! Works every time and with them cleaning up after us, it almost makes up for having to pick up things they drop in your garden pmsl!
The problem with this broom is the going forward only requirement. I felt like he was not being honest in his review. You should try sweeping a whole room not just one line to test the awkwardness of moving forward only. Whenever you pick the broom up or move backwards, the dirt falls back out.
Thanks for reviewing this product. I was wondering if you happened to try picking up a full sandwich with this broom as advertised on their commercial?
OML! It ate the freaking batteries! Just like my grandkids lol! Maybe it WANTS to be battery powered....😂 Seriously it doesn't look bad. Especially for people who are physically challenged with old style brooms and dust pans. Thankyou! Awesome channel!😍only thing is it won't fit tight spaces...or will it? Around and behind toilets?
Can you tell any difference between this and the Fuller Roto Sweep, or do you think they are exactly the same? thanks! How hard is it to get the pet hair out of the brushes?
I actually compare this with the Roto Sweep in my full Roto Sweep review. I found this one and EasyEdge to both perform better than the Roto Sweep. ruclips.net/video/Xq9yYQG8aMw/видео.html
We need a comparison of the three spin brooms vs. Bailey! :p Which one cleans up better? I know my dog does a great job in cleaning the floor and mops it too!
Thank you for the review, was wondering how good/bad they were. We don't feed crap kibble, so won't have that problem, but we do have golden retriever hair. Worth $70? Nope
I'm from Australia and got on eBay for $30 including P&H, and it's the original one. I wouldn't have paid more for it, I don't think the quality is good enough and I wouldn't have bothered either if I had pets
It's not too bad. My mom is in her 70s and uses this and the EasyEdge sweeper daily. They require a bit of cleaning to work properly, but so far seem durable enough for the job.
This is a bad product. The handle assembly looks like it will break in less then 3 mins. There is no upper lip for the dustpan to hold stuff in if you do go backwards. Where they should be a G shape where the entry point would be the opening of the G shape with the majority of the derbies being trapped below the lip when it gets sent to the holding bay. Instead there is a \_, shape and that is why stuff just flies back out when you go backwards with it. Swivel handle these flat out do not work and forces your point of focus so you exert more physical force to keep it going straight. Brushes will get clogged with hair frequently. The drive train is not completely flush. The spokes for the outer brushes are very thin plastic which looks like they will also easily break if you were to say drop it from about 3 feet up while emptying the holding bay if 1 spoke goes it will severely disable the outer brush causing jamming and breaking the other spokes in the process. So $20+ for something that will fully break in 5 mins. Or less then $7 for a wooden handled straw broom that will last a good 10-15 years and a metal dustpan. Broom and dustpan beat this product easily.
I just got one today on clearance at T.J. Maxx for $4. For what I paid, I'm happy with mine and it does what it says and it's more convenient than using a broom and dustpan.
I just want to say thank you for all the reviews you do you are awesome because of you I bought the hurricane fur Wizard and I absolutely love it although it's very hard to pull out of the thing that gets the hair off but once you get it out it does work very well thank you so much for your hard work and your reviews greatly appreciated

I'm going to put in flooring to replace carpet in my house and would like to know if a shop vac would really be the best way to go but for quick pick up in certain areas would this do the trick until deep clean day? Thanks and hope I'm not a bother. :)

is it good at picking up dust ?
In England we have a broom and a dustpan and brush tried tested for many years costs 2£ lasts years
Your reviews always seems fair and honest.
Their pet hair, my spills while cooking, the myriad things to be found in my floor every day...it's well worth the price.
broom dust pan, works wonders
I love how the graphic in this video is better than the commercial
how much pressure do you have to out on the broom to work well? will it be easy enough for an elderly person to use and do you find one worked better than the other ? maybe you can do a video on which one you find worked the best , try all of them using stuff like flour , sugar, coffee , pet hair , crumbs and cereal because those are the most common spills and see which one picked up the fastest and ease of use. Thanks!
Can't wait to see that.
Hello, just have a question.. Does it also pick up fine dust particles
Honey get the broom, I’ve dropped my ham sandwich
I work in a warehouse for a major department store, ive unloaded multiple shipping containers of these
Too cheaply made and the fact you have to press down then clean the dirty mess. Yuck. A simple broom and dust pan is still good enough for me.
Is it used to pick up pet hair? I can see pet hair at the end of the video, but I ask, is it complicate to clean? Thank you.
Thanks for a very helpful review!
Is it a bit awkward? Or do you get the hang of it?
Can we use it on carpets?
Just love how you don't mind dumping crap on your floor...lol👍
Hah it's all in the name of a comprehensive review.
It seems to work well...thank you so much. Excellent video
I’ve got a hack for when you spill dog food.......let the dog in to clean it up lol! Dogs can also be used to clean up human food spills and crumbs! Works every time and with them cleaning up after us, it almost makes up for having to pick up things they drop in your garden pmsl!
Can I ask you if you get any compensation for testing these products by the companies?
No, I purchase all the products myself.
The problem with this broom is the going forward only requirement. I felt like he was not being honest in his review. You should try sweeping a whole room not just one line to test the awkwardness of moving forward only.
Whenever you pick the broom up or move backwards, the dirt falls back out.
He looks like Mr. Clean with a beard.
Do you have to move slowly to get it to work or was that just for the video?
You probably don't have to move as slowly as I was. My wife uses these brooms almost daily and moves at a pretty good clip.
Thanks for reviewing this product. I was wondering if you happened to try picking up a full sandwich with this broom as advertised on their commercial?
thank you for this video I was going to get a regular broom or this machinary. well you just made up my mind going to the old ways thank you
I bought this and it's a waste of money, I wish I can get my money back. It's a cheap piece of garbage.
Have you done reviews on Dyson and shark vacuums?
OML! It ate the freaking batteries! Just like my grandkids lol! Maybe it WANTS to be battery powered....😂
Seriously it doesn't look bad. Especially for people who are physically challenged with old style brooms and dust pans. Thankyou! Awesome channel!😍only thing is it won't fit tight spaces...or will it? Around and behind toilets?
To reduce the gear noises, you could lubricate those gears.
Going to get one of these, thanks.
Thank you for the review, was wondering how good/bad they were. We don't feed crap kibble, so won't have that problem, but we do have golden retriever hair. Worth $70? Nope
It's $20, not $70.
For Australians it's around AU$70 due to overseas postage & handling. US$20 is approximately $28 Australian dollars & that's before P&H.
I'm from Australia and got on eBay for $30 including P&H, and it's the original one. I wouldn't have paid more for it, I don't think the quality is good enough and I wouldn't have bothered either if I had pets
@@joa7302 why would you buy this piece of shit lol?
...thank u for the review...appreciate it much!🙂
I'm thinking of buying one of these, but it seems pretty flimsy. Is it?
Broom and dustpan beat this product easily.
japanaman2 never buy anything off of tv. They buy it for a dollar in China
In your opinion, which one is better: Hurricane Spin or Easy Edge?
Easy Edge. I'm currently working on a 3-way comparison of Easy Edge, Hurricane Spin Broom, and Roto Sweep, which I will post tomorrow.
Freakin' Reviews Can't wait to see which one of the three you consider the best.
Can it clean dust from the floor?
I actually love this thing. Got it for $5 bucks at DD's. Not worth $20 imo.
I just got one today on clearance at T.J. Maxx for $4. For what I paid, I'm happy with mine and it does what it says and it's more convenient than using a broom and dustpan.
got mine for $3.50 at Big Lots I'm set
I was ready to buy and then I saw this video. A broom can do the same things.
I really appreciate it. I'm glad my reviews are useful to you!

No good ! just like the hand held they came out with a long time ago !
Plot twist : That's not pet hair it's actually his beard trimmings
Thanks for the review...very helpful.
I feel like it would work better with battery's or a rubber wheel that drives the brushes.
