      @@geo-305 Here's how I would rank the basic trainings
      1. Marine Corps
      2. Coast Guard
      3. Army
      4. Navy
      5. Air Force
      I know absolutely nothing about any of the branches' basic trainings, but based off of experiences I've heard and videos I've seen, that's how I'd rank it.
      I plan on going to either the Naval Academy or Coast Guard Academy.

      Last Strike Mapping navy is 3 because of the fact you dealing with water and land training no stop but you mostly deal with water since that’s where you’ll be a lot and you can easily past out in the training in your body isn’t trained right or in the right conditions

    I went to Coast Guard boot camp at Alameda, in the late 1970's. I was placed in X-Ray company (bad boy) for a week prior to graduation, so I was held back an extra week. Whatever you see here in this video is a cake-walk compared to I went through during hell-week in X-Ray (Alameda).

    100 meter swim and a 5 minute tread...? In my swiftwater rescue class we had to do a 200 meter swim then a 10 minute tread followed by a donned pfd 200 meter swim and a victim retrieval, then we had to swim and do drills in the rapids for 10 hours for the certification... And that was for a non state certification, for volunteer fire/ ems swiftwater rescue. If this is the make or break for coasties then this is nothing.

    • @jay2357
      @jay2357 2 года назад

      Being an ast is not just knowing how to swim… do your research it’s one of the most physically demanding jobs in the military. And most of their cases aren’t even rescuing people from water they rescue people off cliffs, search for missing people, respond to people with medical emergencies on boats. And plus they have to take care of all the equipment for their team on the heli. They have to be certified EMT as well.

      The mental stress of it is harder than the physical. CG basic is said to be the second only to the marines and that's only bc the Marines is more physical but not as mentally challenging. I went through CG basic in Cape May in 2010. Good.experience but wouldn't want to do it again.

    • @paint4r
      @paint4r 5 лет назад +1

      Lucas Tantanella well marines boot also has the crucible which puts it in its own level almost by itself in my opinion

    • @lucastantanella
      @lucastantanella 5 лет назад +4

      @@paint4r from what I've heard crucible week is more strenuous physically not necessarily emotionally/mentally. From day one to graduation the mental/emotional level of stress you go through in the CG imo is harder. Plus, throughout the course of the 8 weeks the CG tests you 3x on required knowledge in order to pass basic. That's additional to the swim test and PFT's.
