Must of been awesome growing up around that loft! And having Glenn Kotche as a drum teacher is not to shabby at all. Sounds great Spencer! Love the Tweedy album.
I remember seeing him for the first time on "I'm Trying to Break Your Heart" slapping out the beat to "Heavy Metal Drummer". So cool to see him now, so talented.
I like that he plays so dynamically and quietly - just shows you don't have to SLAM the drums all the time for great tone. Drums really sound cool if you back off and play softly.
Forgive me if these are dumb questions but Im getting a pair of ribbon mics , and I just was wondering , how much total gain can these guys give out, and can you get alot of clean gain/headroom before they start driving/getting crunchy? I'm just asking because I'm abit worried they wont have enough clean gain for passive ribbons? And I'm sure I will enjoy driving the CB quite hard in some situations, but I also want to know that I will have the headroom for ribbons without driving them to hard! The reason I'm so interested in these is because I was looking at the AEA RPQ 500 pre's because they have the low cut and some high end eq options, but I think the CB could give me what I was looking for in the RPQ plus more! Thanks JHS!
Sorry, one more thing. Does the Eq Boost and Cut or is it always boosting if its in? Sorry, it's just hard to find certain info on this module! Thanks JHS!
I’ve got a fairly decent general knowledge about recording - I’m curious, though, as it’s never really explained - do the mics go straight into these modules, and then strait to the recording interface, or are they in an effects send, or is a there something else altogether happening?

I have a feeling that he will be very sought after in the future. The kid really has some original sauce in his drumming, I think.

Great drumming there!
Love it. Precocious player.
Comparable to the Vulf Compressor in terms of the lofi-ness and drum sound.
I did not know that plugin, THANKS MAN!
So good!
Wonder how he got his start?
I am so beaming with pride...and he's not even my kid...
Very cool. Just picked up the pedal colour box. It is fantastic. Is there a trick to max the clipping/sag without gate/stutter?
If you like Spencer Tweedy, check out TED DUCHAMP - CARS BY NIGHT, think you'll enjoy it, cheers xx

We designed the Colour Box 500's to work with ribbon mics perfectly. Loads of clean gain.
Thanks for the reply, cheers, P4 Studios!

Shit he's _good_

The EQ is always in, but when the knob is at noon, it's neutral. That's all in the video.
Sorry must have missed that, Thanks, P4 Studios.
the gear...... ugh. there's a Travis bean right there in the foreground.
Guess being able to keep time ain't a requirement when demoing gear, whodathunkit?
The fuck are you talking about this kids got chops on chops on chops
Sweet, nepotism.
