Agreed! A lot of stuff just looks plain, and when I see it I just say, "Oh cool it's warrior cats merch." I'd honestly be more interested in buying something like the figures if they made the cats have different poses and sell them in a box set. Ex. Hard agree! This is what I want from the merchandise: - Cheaper price or increased quality. The plushies are way too expensive for the quality it is. It looks ugly and overpriced - you can find cat plushies with softer fur and more accurate anatomy. The only reason these get to be as expensive as they are is because it’s “official warrior cats merch.” You can find better quality from fan artists though :/ - Unique poses and designs for the cats. Give them props! The minis have improved which is great, but I feel like the minis were modeled after funko-pops which is super limiting for the cats - but hell even the funko-pops have some variation. I would’ve also been down for some figures that looked like the Celestia/Luna/etc. figures in the Guardians of Harmony sets from MLP. Like a Tigerstar vs Firestar battle set? Would be neat. - I want them to try to cater more to older fans? A lot of the merchandise and the website seems to be encouraged to a very young audience - which is fine! But they don’t balance it very well, and even the stuff for younger people isn’t that great. There’s contests like one a month and then just… quizzes. They should make articles more often and try posting stuff for teenage fans too. - Give love to new characters! All merch so far is of old characters! I’d love to buy a Shadowsight or Bristlefrost figurine.
@@amyyeoman6559 I'm being serious, it really sucks. But I can't be sure it will happen again, I got the Firestar when the plushies were first released. So maybe they've fixed it now? But again, I can't be 100% sure.
Another thing that I haven’t seen anyone mention is how long the merch takes to ship. Here’s my story: I ordered a Skyclan pin in early July (2019) because my birthday is in July and I got it as a little birthday present to myself. The website said it would take 1-3 weeks to ship. Fair enough, as they need to collect orders first, and there are fans living all over the world. It ended up arriving to my house IN NOVEMBER! They never did anything to apologize or explain themselves, at least to me. You’d think that I would be living in the Amazon with the amount of time I waited, right? Nah, I live in Western Canada. Still far from Britain, but nowhere near far enough to justify the amount of time I waited for this tiny pin. By the time I got my pin, I didn’t even care for it anymore, because of how frustrating it was to prod them for answers for months until this arrived in my mailbox with no further explanation. I haven’t bought a thing from them since. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.
I ordered a Starclan pin, Thunderclan pin, and a Thunderclan bookmark back in 2019. It took a while to ship. I live in the southern US. They definitely should work better on their shipping, or work with a different company
It took a good while for my Brightheart plush to ship (live on the Eastern Coast of the US), but at least it didn't take months, holy cow. Thank God I'm not buying anything else from them, but it's not like I I ever planned to.
I hate the fact that half the merch have the minis in them, as if their design themselves don't suck. Also the make squirrelfligth a tabby.... what the f is wrong with them?
Technically all (real life) red cats look like they're tabbies regardless of if they have the tabby gene or not, but then again, as several people said, these here are fictional characters and realism is not really needed. I also always imagined squirrelflight without tabby pattern...
had to mention you when talking about fan content, especially considering you’re a huge inspiration when it comes to my art. the whole section about silhouettes and recognition was actually inspired by you! tysm for commenting! like i said, you’re a huge inspiration to me! and lmao- would’ve probably done the same!
I definitely think if they went with more stylized designs for their figures, it would feel a lot more interesting, atleast in my opinion. A lot of them feel like they’re going for too much realism, which ends up making the designs not really feel too personified, if that makes sense? Poses can do a lot, but design and style can definitely also do a heck ton in terms of making the characters feel more alive. Also, still salty about ordering a shirt a year ago, waiting several months with no updates and having to get a refund cause they apparently couldn’t find my order lmao I do hope they listen to the community, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they kept on with their current stuff. Don’t fix what ain’t broke/selling, right?
The mirror with jayfeather, I had the same reaction. Like he can’t even see- but I mean it’s kinda funny. Not worth it though. And I agree, they should make the designs more interesting and have more emotion, they kind of copy and paste the same designs over and over again, mix up the colors, and MAYBE a prop or a pose. It’s a big community, they should at least try to make it appeal.
The only thing I feel that was worth my money was the warriors figures, I absolutely adore them so much. I wanted figures of characters since I was a kid, back when the 3rd arc was being released. The pins, while being $10, are cheap compared to other stores online whether they be primarily a small business (ie Viziepop, which sells for $16) or official (ie the Field Museum, which sells pins for $10-16), which often have shipping added to it. Idk, maybe it's because I'm an older fan, but at least there is actually official march now.
I wrote an entire message and then it got deleted because I wanted to try and find the manufacturers for the pins lol. But I think I could be expecting better quality figures just because I’ve seen and been exposed to better quality. I checked Vivziepop’s shop and they look to be the same price? I don’t know shopping costs for them. I know that Warriors’ plus shipping is 16 dollars. I think the Field Museum might overprice just to compensate for the fact that they rely on donations and ticket sales for money, which isn’t the best. I’ve never been, and I’m not familiar with their prices so take that with a grain of salt.
I agree, linky! The writing team could do SO much more to engage with the community so we have something cool with them and we don't just rely on MAPs, and youtube- Also great video how do you have the guts to do something like that- You're an inspiration-
Thanks so much for liking my pin! You don't have to but it'd be great to see some links in the description of where to get all the fan made merch you showed! :D
I think avos was meh, same with some bits of omen of the stars but the newest series the broken code is definitely getting interesting to me. It actually has a big conflict, and for once thunderclan is falling apart instead of shadowclan, and all together im pretty invested in this series. I hope they all start to become more interesting
I remember when the first plushies came out, (the Graystripe, Firestar, and Jayfeather plushie) My mom ordered me the Graystripe plushie and a Riverclan shirt for Christmas that year. They didn’t even arrive at all. Well, in time for Christmas and it said it would. The shirt didn’t even come at all, I eventually got the Graystripe plushie in February though. And my mom did get her money back, but they didn’t even say anything. The minis my mom got for me came fine, but they still took a while to ship. But the first order my mom did was awful. The shirt didn’t come at all, and the plushie took 2 months to arrive when it was meant to arrive in time for Christmas.
Omg! You're right, when you look at their merch post on Instagram they have same face syndrome with the Acton figures and stickers. Not to mention a lot of people on their Instagram keep telling them to hire better artist for their merch and I totally agree, they should collab with other artists. And how are the plushies worth so much and they look... didn't want to say it but they look bad
I've been into warriors since 2012 and I can agree with you about the quality of the recent books. I loved the original arc, second arc, third, a fourth. But the most recent arcs just... the wonder that I felt reading them when I was 10 that inspired hours of speedpaint watching and drawing is just.... gone. It feels boring.
cant say much more than 'i agree' because you nailed everything i wanted to say here. the price on it's own is pretty crazy, but for the bland, cookie cutter designs of the plushies and figures it's just outrageous.
6:33 To answer your question yes! I do use the Mini’s like LPS a lot! I use it to keep myself occupied when I’m not doing much, and I find it very fun. And I also agree it would be more fun to have more personality in these figurines. The first series is well… the first series. Nothing really to complain about, but then I see all the mini’s sitting again!!! And, a duplicate Jayfeather because they needed to add his stick? Oof. Honestly, they could’ve made at least two cats in a different position or with a different expression and I would’ve been pleased. I also feel like your fan-base merch idea is great! Those photos of creations are amazing, and I would buy that Hollyleaf if I could! Keep up the great work ❤️
Personally I think the pins are reasonably priced, most pins I see are like $15-$30, but I agree with a ton of things you mentioned, they also always seem to be out of stock on things and barely restock, it takes months for them to restock and then they sell out in like a day!
I know this is just a very petty minor nitpick, but I can name a handful of Warriors fanartists that have a realisticish or heavily realistic style. slugswarriordesigns, dotstar, bigiswarriorcatsdesigns, and satzzzwarriorcats, all found on Tumblr. Sure, these designs are in the minority, but they do exist. Just wanted to point that out. Everything else in this video is perfectly valid, I'm just being petty, forgive me.
Tybaxel is another Warriors artist with a really realistic style, they’re on RUclips, and oh my good their art is great. They give so much expression to their art despite the realistic style, it’s amazing.
@@shinyaura I was hoping for someone would mention Tybaxel~ but Yeah, realism can be very expressive when done right. That’s the problem with the live action Lion king as well.
The mini collector figures you can just make on your own with those little 1 dollar lps toys and some bottles of paint that'll let you paint at least 20 cats how YOU wish to paint them, before you run out.
These prices are kind of average for me in AUD because USD when changed into AUD is always a bit more priced, so I’m not surprised there’s a pin for 10$ and 6$ shipping is pretty cheap... it’s usually around 20$ for shipping y’know? So it kind of sucks these prices are seen as sucky when it’s the norm for what I see 🤷
When i got the first set of plushies i ordered them around late November. I expected them to come in around December, but no. I got them in march. With the next set of plushies (ordered at same time of year) they showed up in APRIL??? They canceled our order once between that and we had to re order them. Its unfair and overpriced but i like the texture of the fluff so whatever.

I agree. This Fandom has always been very art based compared to other Fandoms and I feel like they should care more about this community that is supporting them and paying them but instead they just throw out stuffed animals that look like beenie boo knockoffs and figurines that just look cheap. Its just sad that this is the state of the warrior cats merch

Currently trying to order from all of you guys (and more) but I don’t have the money for it yet (bank troubles w adsense) will def buy when i can! your art is great!!
the merch with the minis on it has the same vibe as tshirts and stuff with funko pops on them. Like, why not just put real art of that character on them, not a picture of a toy of a character?
The figures are pretty nice! I’ve got all of them so far >:) don’t even read the series anymore but I have a small clan on my desk Plushies? Not as good. Pins n stuff? I see a ton of merch that just have simple images of the minis on them... which is sorta lazy? Figures are where the most effort goes.
commenting mid video but i fond it ironic ypu bring lps up because to me the figures make me think of knock off LPS toys, they look generic keychain quality. 😬
Well if you look at the collectable pokemon figures they have so much personality as the pokemon are doing dynamic poses, they smile get angry , use attacks ECT. that's how collectable figures should be
Honestly the lps customs are better quality ,they have more unique ness ,even if they are made from an lps base poeple add clay and such and give them unique markings and expressions
There's... Warrior Cats merch ? That's something that exists ? I haven't read a book of it for years, haha, but I was obsessed with them at some point. I don't indulge in the fandom, like at all, but this popped on my recommended and I was like : "wait what".
Not to mention, these mini designs have been copy pasted onto everything else in the store. Most of the other items are literally book covers on clothes. They used to have some cool, unique designs I actually wanted, but they got rid of all of it.
I 100% agree with you. I saw the trouble with the Warriors merch from a mile away. I remember two years ago before we even knew for sure there would be mini figures, Bright Guardian Akira did a whole video about what it would be like if they made Warriors blind bags. Everyone in the comments on that video seemed super excited, but I myself commented a whole long paragraph as to why that would be a HORRIBLE idea. For one, the plushies and toys make the series seem like it's centered for younger kids. This series is made for 8-12 year olds (but more like 10-14 year olds in my opinion). WHY ARE THEY MAKING TOYS FIT FOR 5-9 YEAR OLDS? LIKE JUST WHY? It makes the series seem like a series for little kids (which it's not), and that's going to stop older kids from reading it, and therefore there will be less content online about Warriors because it's the older kids and adults creating such things. Without the content and fandom online, the series would be WAYYYY less popular. I mean, how many people found Warriors because a video of it popped up in their RUclips recommended and they watched it and thought the series sounded interesting? The stickers (yessir, 5 sheets of stickers (which, each sheet has the same stickers on it so now variety) is 13 dollars. Even more expensive with shipping and tax), the plushies, and the figurines all seem to be geared towards younger kids. Like, nobody above the age of 5 is going to buy those stickers. And obviously no one 5 years and younger is reading Warriors, so therefore nobody is going to buy those stickers. Especially for that price! First I would like to mention the shirts. Some of them are decent, but still not something I would wear. But most of the shirts they made? EW! Like that whole line of shirts they made with the quotes and the figurines on it? That is literally setting kids up for bullying! It's so terribly designed and no one is going to wear that. An 8 yr old could design a shirt better than that! Not to mention, it's so terrible that it's going to make other people think the series is a joke and they won't want to read it when their friend tries to get them to read it. As for figurines, don't get me started. The merch wasn't great before and I probably would have never worn any of it ever even if it was given to me for free, but the introduction of the figurines made the merch WAYYYY worse. Like the Jayfeather mirror you mentioned. I saw that on the website the other day. I had the very same thoughts as you: Jayfeather can't see, so why are you making a mirror with him on it? I have an idea of why they did this. Jayfeather is a popular character, especially among younger fans who are the types to buy those kinds of things. You want a mirror, and you love Warriors. Why not get a Warriors mirror? To fans this makes no sense, but I do see where they were coming from on this. But thing is, what they thought would work didn't actually... sorry Warriors Store, but nobody wants a Jayfeather mirror. The figurines themselves are ugly to me. They're a bit creepy looking in my opinion. It looks like they tried to make them realistic but failed. Their heads are too big and their tails are too small. They have really big foreheads too... and there is no variance in their eyes. I'd like to see the figurines all looking different directions. Some of them looking above them, some to the right, some to the left. Maybe Ravenpaw would be looking at his paws because he's nervous. I think the designs for them should be a little less complicated looking. AND ABOVE ALL, THEY NEEDED TO HAVE VARIANCE IN THE POSITIONS. WHY ARE THEY ALL SITTING? That's soooooooo boring. Making some running, some standing, some walking, some sitting, some licking their paw. Some looking to the side, some looking in front of them, some looking behind them, etc. There are endless possibilities of positions they could make them in, but they choose the same position for ALL of them. The figurines could have been amazing, but instead they're poorly designed and pasted on shirts to grab extra money (except they're just losing money from that because nobody is going to buy those shirts). The plushies ARE kinda cute, but as you said they lack character. Other than the Brightheart and Jayfeather ones, there is nothing that makes the plushes different then the plushes of any other cat. Well known brands like Aurora and such probably have cat plushes that look IDENTICAL. So why not just buy one of those and pretend like it's a Warriors character? They're probably cheaper. Also in pictures the GRAYstripe one looks brown.... is that just me? I saw this all coming before it actually happened, but I hoped I was wrong. I wasn't though, which is pretty disappointing. Fans finally get the merch they wanted, then it's terrible like this. Ok that's all. Just had to get my anger out at the Warriors merch. You're welcome, and thanks for reading :D
Addition because you've got this all on my mind now and I can't stop thinking about it- The thing is, what we (at least me personally; I suppose I can't speak for all the fans) want isn't going to happen because of expense issues. I would love to get a pin of art of a popular character (such as Squirrelflight, Jayfeather, Hollyleaf, Firestar, Graystripe, Thunderstar, Brightheart, Leopardstar, Bristlefrost, etc.) just posing (standing, sitting, walking, you name it), but unfortunately that would be very expensive for the store to make. That's why I think they are using the figurines on everything- it's cheap and they may make a little money off of it. If they could hire artists to make individual art of characters to put on shirts, pins, posters, notebooks, etc. I would TOTALLY buy it. Like some decent art of my favorite character on a shirt that has say, Warriors and then the cat's name in cursive below it? Yes I would buy that. Same if they put similar things on pins, posters, and notebooks. If it was a cat with a proportional body unlike the figurines, then yes I would buy it. I would also buy the figurines if they were higher quality but less expensive like figurines in a brand called Schleich that I used to collect. Those things would be worth it, but unfortunately they would be expensive to make and Warriors doesn't want to go through all that, I suppose.
Honestly the only bit of warrior cats merchandise I have is a charm bracelet and a Brightheart plushie, and that's just because Brightheart's design is so unique that she looks like herself unlike the Ravenpaw and Squirrelflight plushies. The figurines however.. I kinda get what they were going for with the resemblance to Funko Pops but these are cats and harder to distinguish from one another. The figurines need personality, kinda like Littlest Pet Shop toys would have, I don't even think the props will save them personally. (They need alternate poses imo) But at the end of the day I think Warriors is only a cash grab nowadays. I'll always love the fandom and all that's been born from it but I rather stay away from what is official (books, merch, etc.)
I do really agree to an extent, but people do have to remember that Warriors is a pretty small fandom compared to other fandoms with merch, epically in the terms of how many people have money to buy merch. So obviously the quality of merchandise is not going to be as great as like Pokémon merch because they dont have enough money too make it like that. I do like the new figurines because in each box theirs a character doing or holding something unique. Though I think that they should really push for stylized products more than realistic ones, as that's what the majority of the fandom enjoys.
I don’t think that’s true at all. I’m a single person with a tiny Etsy shop, I have less than 100 sales and I have better quality products. I think they are just very out of touch with who their fan base is and what we enjoy
@@mangepelt8831 Im not rlly familar with how etsy works, so idk about that one lol. I was saying that the items such as plushies werent going to be as high quality as other larger fandom plush, not things like shirts or other things because those can obviously be improved. (The plushies can be improved too tho their very cheap lol)
This video made me realize I've been in the Warriors fandom for almost 10 years at this point, wow lmao. Guess I'm a boomer now (also, the first book in Dawn Of The Clans was released over 8 years ago?!?) (Edit: spelling)
i agree SOO MUCH on this, the designs in general are also just.. kind of weird. idk. id also like to see maybe some different versions like.. Tortoiseshell black and white tawny pelt vs brown and golden tawnypelt, yk for characters that have largely debated on designs so that everyone is happy. (oh btw ur discord link + carrd dont work)
(Writing as I watch) I’ve been saying for so long that the “official people” are very out of touch with the community. Fans by f a r carry the series. I really think that they should get input from fans when creating merch and things, even the covers of the books themselves. Anything official Warrior Cats barely feels like Warrior Cats to me sometimes. I’m nearly 20 and have been into Warriors for about a decade now and I’ve always actual figures and plushies but these just really aren’t what anyone ever wanted
I would love to have a stuffed animal of a character, but the price is not worth it. The designs make it seem like each should be valued at 5$. Personally, I'd love Squilf or Ivy if they weren't such eye sores. Fans designing them would definitely help. Look at almost any MAP or animation, and you'll see awesome designs. Sure, Ivy’s scarred bc it's a big part of her story, but in fanart she doesn't look horrible, she looks beautiful despite it. Same goes for Brightheart. Yellowfang looks more gruff and worn. Ravenpaw looks like he's prepared to jump at any time. Squilf, in most things I've seen, has this cute look to her, but you can tell she would do anything to protect her loved ones. The Merch doesn't have these characteristics, and that doesn't sell it for me
What frustrates me is that I would prefer cat Stuffies from Ty (older generation) in general, I can just get a calico stuffed animal and ca it maple shade, I just wish they weren’t so ugly?
I gotta be honest... I never got past sunset I started it years ago.. But i already know too much of things that will happen next and i just get bored and slightly annoyed
My little sister and I played with the action figures(?) and made a whole story off of them. It's honestly funner to pretend they're your own characters than warrior cats because they have no personality originally.
I think they r cute, but, this is for the artist, GIVE THEM PERSONALLY!!!!!! I mean, I get it, ravenpaw, but, dude, make her ears go back, cinder pelt, I don’t, whatever, lol, sandstorm should have one paw out. Like, give her sass.
I will use the cats as lps but i don’t like them much and im poor Also the cinderpelt one I thought maybe it was her putting herbs on brightheart after the dogs I have desided to not test the pose, on any cat Also maybe they could do the mini figs and make them how we draw the cats and make it a fan contest
The warriors figures are the best item in the shop by far and even those are lacking severely. Half the time I cant even tell who these cats are supposed to be like why is Cinderpelt like a muddy brown color? I thought she was grey? I had no idea that one was Sandstorm and the last set i didnt recognize Tawnypelt or Leafstar. And now they are making doubles of some figures and we are only on set 2! I wish the figures were done in a different style and not rubbery. And I wish they worked a little harder to make the cats more distinct and obvious who they are.
another note; i think if it was like a service where you could design your oc in, say, that character creator they made, and then get it printed all of this would obviously be fine...but these are canon characters. like erin hunter. my guy. come on
The mini designs on shirts and notebooks and that mirror-it’s just so lazy!! It would be so much better if they just had actual cat designs or else it’s so not worth it
That's actually very a reasonable price for enamel pins. As someone who has done research for getting my own pins made, that's way lower than most manufacturers will charge for a batch and you can't expect them to sell them to you at cost.
I’ve been doing research into enamel pins as well, specifically pricing and how they’re manufactured. I can’t determine how much it would exactly be, considering I don’t know if they use screen printed colours or not. I don’t expect them to pride them at 1 dollar, but I think 10 dollars is a little much. Also, the price I gave per unit is an estimate, and I do not know the manufacturer. Although, I do have a theory that they’re using Alibaba, a website similar to Amazon based in China. There’s a lot of people who will do customs, and the pins I’ve looked at on there go for as little as 28 cents. The reason I think they might have found a manufacturer on Alibaba is because the Warrior Cats movie is being produced by Alibaba Pictures. Though the two aren’t necessarily related, it is completely plausible that the Warrior Cats team looked up Alibaba when researching for the movie and stumbled across this.
I didn't understand a lot of things in this video and used the translator like..100 times a minute, but in general I kind of agree(?) But I see that figurines and in general the entire official merch in the English fandom of warrior cats is not very appreciated (or something like that). And I saw a lot of people in rus-fandom who admired it. But they can't buy it at all so it's quite..strange
Not as into the wc fandom as I used to be, but I agree that the books have little sincerity and the writers seem to have disinterest. Most of the characters, even the main characters in each book (especially them, even) seem very flat. They have little personality, and when they do have sassier attitudes (Think of Squirrelflight or Jayfeather) they come off as grumpy or annoying, rather than "how interesting, some spice to the character!" The developers for the merch designs, honestly, eh. It's okay they have their own style. But they don't listen to what the fans ACTUALLY WANT when it's most needed, like merch. Theres a reason the majority flocks to fan created merch & content and prefers it, rather than the "canon" merch designs. The fan creations breath life into the fandom, as any fandom at that, but Warrior Cats heavily relies on the people who make OCs and roleplays, whatyouhaveit. Theres a lots of people stumble on wc through its surrounding community, rather than the books themselves.
I'm going to be honest. I've seen the figurines advertised on the Instagram and just assumed they were fan-made and just being called 'official'. Like, the details of the markings are great imo and everything looked cool from a stylized/art standpoint- the style reminds me of Funko Pops with less personality- but I noticed they were all in the same pose and just... generic looking. Just didn't entirely scream true official to me.
I agree with you, but I love all the merch either way TwT My only question is why didn't ehy make another Jayfeather figure even though they already made one? Its annoying because there were so many options
Heartily disagree. Just because the canon version of the plush and hard plastic toys don't match the fan versions of the warriors, doesn't mean that there's any less passion. And it isn't necessary to hire fans, when they can make their own content that doesn't have to follow strict licensing rules.
With regard to all the official merchandise, the least effort and manufacturing cost are to be desired by the warriors team so they can make the most profit. That’s their number one priority and it shows…
For me I just find all the merch ugly. Like the plushies are pretty agreed upon to be less than stellar but I just can’t find myself to like the figurines at all. I really miss the hoodies with the descriptive words for each clan on the back. Sure they were overpriced but weren’t too bad of quality and I really loved wearing them in public. Pretty disappointed in how down hill the store has been going :(
The minis look like the merch team went "okay Funko pops sell well, right? Okay look at this a lot of Warrior cat fans make custom LPS ! So let's make our collectible figures a hybrid of Funko Pops and LPS! What can go wrong !" The merch is so disappointing to me They're slapping the minis on everything they can get their hands on What about the polish warriors covers? They would look so sick as posters/tshirts I asked the merch team about this and their reply was essentially "lol no"

Another thing that I haven’t seen anyone mention is how long the merch takes to ship. Here’s my story:
I ordered a Skyclan pin in early July (2019) because my birthday is in July and I got it as a little birthday present to myself.
Thank you for coming to my TED talk.
currently buying a set of the mini figures… i’ve seen a few stories like these and i might make a whole other video about that if i see more
I ordered a Starclan pin, Thunderclan pin, and a Thunderclan bookmark back in 2019. It took a while to ship. I live in the southern US. They definitely should work better on their shipping, or work with a different company
I live in Australia and I got my figures within a week and two weeks, which I thought was pretty decent.
It took a good while for my Brightheart plush to ship (live on the Eastern Coast of the US), but at least it didn't take months, holy cow.
Thank God I'm not buying anything else from them, but it's not like I I ever planned to.
@@gracosaurus you're lucky to have one lol
I hate the fact that half the merch have the minis in them, as if their design themselves don't suck.
Also the make squirrelfligth a tabby.... what the f is wrong with them?
Technically all (real life) red cats look like they're tabbies regardless of if they have the tabby gene or not, but then again, as several people said, these here are fictional characters and realism is not really needed. I also always imagined squirrelflight without tabby pattern...
And I oop! o///o Wasn't expecting to hear my name!
had to mention you when talking about fan content, especially considering you’re a huge inspiration when it comes to my art. the whole section about silhouettes and recognition was actually inspired by you!
tysm for commenting! like i said, you’re a huge inspiration to me!
and lmao- would’ve probably done the same!
Also, still salty about ordering a shirt a year ago, waiting several months with no updates and having to get a refund cause they apparently couldn’t find my order lmao
I do hope they listen to the community, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they kept on with their current stuff. Don’t fix what ain’t broke/selling, right?
I was annoyed that ravenpaw didnt have yellow or purple eyes
He has canonically green eyes so it's obvious they would give him green ones.
:I there going with canon looks not fan looks
With their basic merch designs he and breezepelt would look identical XD
purple eyes aren’t natural. while warrior cats is a fiction book series, it tries to at least be realistic in a way.
@@Sadakorka tell that to Heatherstar and her pink fur
The writing team could do SO much more to engage with the community so we have something cool with them and we don't just rely on MAPs, and youtube-

And how are the plushies worth so much and they look... didn't want to say it but they look bad
the plush looks like something you would buy at the dollar store
Seriously or like something from a claw machine LMAOO
i flippin ordered a Jayfeather mug, and was sad when i found out they gave me a FireStar mug .... AHHH-
I've been into warriors since 2012 and I can agree with you about the quality of the recent books.
I bought the Cinderpelt and Brightheart minis and they made Cinderpelt BROWN.

To answer your question yes!
Keep up the great work ❤️
I wanna make a speedpaint redesigning every character they made now 🧎
Personally I think the pins are reasonably priced, most pins I see are like $15-$30, but I agree with a ton of things you mentioned, they also always seem to be out of stock on things and barely restock, it takes months for them to restock and then they sell out in like a day!
OKAY BUT CAN WE TALK ABOUT HOW THEY CAME OUT WITH JAYFEATHER TWICE IN THE FIRST TWO WAVES
god i rlly hate the giant heads i kinda crave a balance of realism and cartoon for the figures, but thats probably just me pfft
The mini collector figures you can just make on your own with those little 1 dollar lps toys and some bottles of paint that'll let you paint at least 20 cats how YOU wish to paint them, before you run out.
Personally, I like how the official art for warriors is realistic, but it definitely works better on a book cover then as a shirt design

I agree. the merch with the minis on it has the same vibe as tshirts and stuff with funko pops on them. Like, why not just put real art of that character on them, not a picture of a toy of a character?
The figures are pretty nice! I’ve got all of them so far >:) don’t even read the series anymore but I have a small clan on my desk
Plushies? Not as good. Pins n stuff? I see a ton of merch that just have simple images of the minis on them... which is sorta lazy? Figures are where the most effort goes.
I love LPS lol
Those figures don’t have the same vibe- they just look weird-

Well if you look at the collectable pokemon figures they have so much personality as the pokemon are doing dynamic poses, they smile get angry , use attacks ECT. that's how collectable figures should be

Yup, I totally agree and have since the start… merch just doesn’t fit the series.
Akita did a good vid on this as well :)
There's... Warrior Cats merch ? That's something that exists ?
I haven't read a book of it for years, haha, but I was obsessed with them at some point. I don't indulge in the fandom, like at all, but this popped on my recommended and I was like : "wait what".
I agree with this! I will say, however, that the silhouette tote bags are beautiful. I absolutely love that kind of art! Still a little pricey though
Addition because you've got this all on my mind now and I can't stop thinking about it-
The thing is, what we (at least me personally; I suppose I can't speak for all the fans) want isn't going to happen because of expense issues.
This has been going on for like 2 months-
*and it’s getting worse 😫*
Wow I used to play with Mlp and Lps all the time, it was great before I grew out of it! Before I sold them tehe.
ive never went onto that shop but ive heard lots of warrior cat fans rant about it, all them have fair reason to aswell.
(They need alternate poses imo)
But at the end of the day I think Warriors is only a cash grab nowadays.
Guess I'm a boomer now (also, the first book in Dawn Of The Clans was released over 8 years ago?!?)
(Edit: spelling)
i agree SOO MUCH on this, the designs in general are also just.. kind of weird. idk. id also like to see maybe some different versions like.. Tortoiseshell black and white tawny pelt vs brown and golden tawnypelt, yk for characters that have largely debated on designs so that everyone is happy.

I did want the Graystripe plushie but I absolutely HATE how it looks and I’m kinda glad it went unavailable before I could buy it LMAO
The Merch doesn't have these characteristics, and that doesn't sell it for me
Eh the minis are cool but not the new shirts
What frustrates me is that I would prefer cat Stuffies from Ty (older generation) in general, I can just get a calico stuffed animal and ca it maple shade, I just wish they weren’t so ugly?
I just remembered im the age most people get into warriors (i got into it in thr third grade) so now ima get back into it-
I agree with you about the way the cats look.
I never really liked how they looked.
I gotta be honest...
I never got past sunset
I started it years ago..
A fricking mobile game has better Cat Merchandise than Warrior Cats. Aka Castle Cats
I gotta agree on the shop is rlly dissapointing......but I might buy the Brightheart plush still.
I will use the cats as lps but i don’t like them much and im poor
Also the cinderpelt one I thought maybe it was her putting herbs on brightheart after the dogs I have desided to not test the pose, on any cat
Also maybe they could do the mini figs and make them how we draw the cats and make it a fan contest
Awesome... I thought you had the answer to wth cinderpelt was up to
It confused me so much when i saw her
another note; i think if it was like a service where you could design your oc in, say, that character creator they made, and then get it printed all of this would obviously be fine...but these are canon characters. like erin hunter. my guy. come on
The mini designs on shirts and notebooks and that mirror-it’s just so lazy!! It would be so much better if they just had actual cat designs or else it’s so not worth it
5:25 YES WE CAN WOOO
I also think that youre right
The second you mentioned lps i had a million flashbacks
They have little personality, and when they do have sassier attitudes (Think of Squirrelflight or Jayfeather) they come off as grumpy or annoying, rather than "how interesting, some spice to the character!"
The developers for the merch designs, honestly, eh.
They know they don't have to *try* to get buyers, they already have a dedicated community.
Yes. I honestly have to agree
Only bright guardian arika did this video I think. So your not late. Also I agree with you and him lol
I agree with you, but I love all the merch either way TwT
My only question is why didn't ehy make another Jayfeather figure even though they already made one? Its annoying because there were so many options
I feel like the figurines are okay, but the other Warrior Cats merch sucks.
Same
amazing video, you’re absolutely right
Obviously Cinderpelt is signaling the car to stop lol.
Fr though, what even is that pose?
Heartily disagree. Just because the canon version of the plush and hard plastic toys don't match the fan versions of the warriors, doesn't mean that there's any less passion.
And it isn't necessary to hire fans, when they can make their own content that doesn't have to follow strict licensing rules.
She said "Prices"
and then it mentioned something ABOUT prices on my Dragon city game, this is creepy XD
Linky is a boy :3
With regard to all the official merchandise, the least effort and manufacturing cost are to be desired by the warriors team so they can make the most profit. That’s their number one priority and it shows…
For me I just find all the merch ugly. Like the plushies are pretty agreed upon to be less than stellar but I just can’t find myself to like the figurines at all. I really miss the hoodies with the descriptive words for each clan on the back. Sure they were overpriced but weren’t too bad of quality and I really loved wearing them in public. Pretty disappointed in how down hill the store has been going :(
cinderpelt is warning you
The minis look like the merch team went "okay Funko pops sell well, right? Okay look at this a lot of Warrior cat fans make custom LPS ! So let's make our collectible figures a hybrid of Funko Pops and LPS! What can go wrong !"
The merch is so disappointing to me
They're slapping the minis on everything they can get their hands on
What about the polish warriors covers? They would look so sick as posters/tshirts
I asked the merch team about this and their reply was essentially "lol no"
I would honestly love to work for something like that, designing and stuff. :/ just not sure how to contact them
