So fun to name your property after a feature of it. 8 years ago we planted 7 willow trees (6-7 ft tall each) around our pond (it's a big pond-Lol). This called for a name change, and our place went from "Chestnut Ridge" to "Willow Pond".
The whole time I'm watching you place them trees all I was thinking was that lane will look amazing at Christmas time with all Aaron's lights 😂
Me too and especially when Aaron is so serious about his lighting game! 😄

I use to drive Barbur Blvd coming into Portland Oregon to go to work. There was one section that was sooo beautiful in the spring and fall from the canopies of trees on both sides!!

Hi, Laura and Aaron. You know, I don't get emotional about a lot of things on RUclips, but this video, unexpectedly brought me to tears a number of times. I've seen so many trees cut down or ripped out of the ground and today is the best gardening video I've seen among all I've watched: the generous planting of a whole lot of trees for the mere beauty of it.
To see these fresh, huge trees being planted with such love and care is a once in a lifetime event for me. We've planted trees and I have several 90-foot Silver Maples around our house. They were planted when our house was built around 1930 and started with 8. We only have three left as they are so soft inside that they are like a soda straw for the trunk and golf clubs sticking out the top for the limbs...they are hollow with heavy, solid massive limbs. I love them a lot.
Your new trees are already making a big difference on your new property. I'm so happy for you and have to give you a lot of praise for looking after the environment so responsibly. I've been subscribed since before Benjamin was born and plan to stay subscribed. You're like a distant little family of relatives to me and to your other viewers who love you. I've passed on your site to everyone I know who loves gardening, funny and pleasant families, peaceful and colorful gardens, little kid{s) and, of course, a cat with thumbs.

So exciting! Can't wait to see the trees in all their glory. "I hate measuring!" I got a kick out of Laura's expression when Aaron pointed out that they should measure before placing the trees. Like a kid at Christmas who has to wait to open their presents. Love it!
This lane in the years to come is going to be stunning throughout the seasons. A beautiful shade canopy in the summer, breathtaking color in the fall and then snow covered with lights during the winter. I'm just as excited as you are. 🌳💚

WOW - 30 MAPLES. BEING A CANADIAN GIRL “LAND OF THE MAPLE TREE”. THAT IS A LOT OF LEAVES! I bow to your work ethic of raking girl. I spent my whole entire childhood raking leaves in our home backyard and neighbourhood to make Christmas money. I would do good at your place. CONGRATULATIONS I can’t wait to see the colour, the trees even green are perfect in that spot. 💝🇨🇦
Beverley Simmons Yes! I was thinking the same thing! I bought a maple and a Bradford pear when I was younger and couldn't afford an evergreen tree, such as an oak tree, and I swore I'd never buy a tree that loses its leaves in the winter again! Sooo much work! Not to mention the bareness of the trees.
Yes! I can't stand deciduous trees. The mess, the dead look half the year. I'm an evergreen girl🙂

You know what, that is actually one of the best and most unique aspects of what Laura and Aaron do (and why I am so grateful that they stick with RUclips!) We get to see the whole garden progress and grow and change every year! Where else do you get to see practically daily updates on the progress of people’s projects?!? I wanted you to know how much I love your channel. This channel is my happy place. My husband has been undergoing treatment for cancer over the past two years, we have a four year old, life is non stop insane. I take a minute, sometimes more, to watch this channel and it gives me ideas of things I’d love to do. Which gives me hope for tomorrow. Thank you for what you do.
I’ve always admired “lanes” that lead to a home. Yours is going to be a gorgeous one every fall, with that striking red color . I know you said they were fast growing, but how many years do you think it will take to make the canopy of your dreams ?
Sue Krammer I looked them up and it says average growth rate is 3’ per year! And they’re already so tall! 5 years maybe???
I have a maple tree in my front yard in full sun and it was planted 17 years ago when my oldest was born and the tree is as tall as my 3 storey home.

My autumn blaze was probably 10’ 5 years ago and I would say it is 15-16’ now. It barely grows the 1st few years but right as I moved, it really was coming into its own.

I am so happy for you and Aaron. It has been a very busy year but my goodness look what has happened! Water, power, perimeter road, flowers, vegetables, pumpkins, 25 watermelons and 35 maple trees (2.varieties). PLUS, All your regular plantings. Don’t forget it is not even October yet and you are pregnant...what a year so far...oh yes, Aaron got a tractor! The new place is looking wonderful and I love to see you and Aaron’s excitement.

I love that you are planting Acers! Thats a beautiful variety. My dad and I would plant the seedlings of our Maples over the years and we ended up with 10 generations of Acers! Silver and Red leaf maples. When Dad passed away in 2018 I wanted a way to honor him, so I decided to plant, give away and rehome trees in his honor. At first striving to reach the same number of trees as his birthday age (92 and 93 the next) Every year reaching close to 100 trees. So it makes my heart smile to see you plant so many at once. Its a dream of mine to see a large installation for my dad. Maybe someday!
I would love to know how old the trees are already (how long they were grown in the nursery) and about how long it should take for them to reach full size.

Laura, I do so love living your dream with you. I can relate in so many ways.30 years ago we planted Maples along the entrance to our 5 acre farm and I enjoy them so much each fall. Ours was a Dahlia farm open to the public in summer and we did weddings and special events. We sold 8 years ago and now live in a lovely house across the street. Maples are just turning that bright red now. I so look forward to each day watching you and your family live your dream. Thankyou for all the tips and inspiration your channel gives us all.

We had Asian Longhorn Beatles infestation here in the Northeast & it could have devastated tree our area & up through Canada, so the city removed tons of trees & then started replacing them. I remember how excited I was to have 11 trees planted in my yard. That was about 10 years ago & they all look amazing now. So I can slightly know how excited you are. Those trees are so GORGEOUS. On of my favorite things is when Aaron makes Laura multiply. Seriously fits----Laura is a machine who just keeps going lol. And when you speed the work up I just love it. I sit here giggling away. I love your excitement over trees. I feel the same way. Our town experienced a microburst and we lost a lot of trees along our lake- which is a real shame. There will be no money for tree replacement, I'm sure with the Covid epidemic. I will donate a tree or two if the town will plant as I feel we need to plant trees like our lives depend on it, as it does. And then I will go and hug them! LOL! We live in a rural suburb and had to take down a huge maple that was failing and I worried about damage if we had a storm. The whole neighborhood was bummed. We have since replaced with the 2 Autumn Blaze Maples in the front yard, that already has a nice presence and neighbors are commenting how pleased they are with the trees. The alley of trees of Autumn Blaze you and Aaron are putting in, are going to be real show stoppers!!!

Going to be gorgeous! We had the same cold snap last year too in mid October, it went down to 25 degrees! Two nights in a roll. We are in north Georgia zone 7b. Your trees look substantial enough they will be okay in some cold. Enjoy!

I thought there wasn’t going to be a driveway where the raised flower bed is around that tree by the garbage containers.. so you’ll have to drive by that area again sometime and explain 🤗 I know like a child I haven’t paid attention apparently!! LOVE IT! Timing IS everything! haha Nothing like a maple for beautiful fall foliage. We're blessed that our property had loads of native maples already here, we saved as many as we could when clearing to build, over half of our long drive is lined with them and they are just starting to turn. The other part of our drive (where it was clear of anything) we planted crepe myrtles (the old tall variety) and they have finally grew across to form a tunnel. I love it, a tunnel of pink blooms.
The area is gonna look amazing.
