    The problem with Smith is the herring the bass are chasing and eating are 3 to 5 inches. I live 30 minutes from the dam and it's really hard to get them eat anything over 5 inches this time of year. The spring though, that's when the 6 to 8in baits slay.

    Reminds me alot of Lake Oroville. I caught most spots on an underspin 2.8 kitech. Minnow woulda been better I guess. Thanks for the cool video dude! Much love from NorCal❤😊

    Growing up on herring lakes here in SC you had EVERYTHING tied up that could get you paid except a weighted TX rigged fluke & a top water crawler! Which all these techniques we learned about from West coast hammers mostly. Summer spotted bass eat the most out of season crap sometimes but you can’t beat the minnow and it gets better mid day. Just have to follow the schools 😅

    Hey Chris...could you maybe do a video on best baits for shallow summertime Florida strain! That woukd be awesome.

    • @Zaldaingerous
      @Zaldaingerous  5 месяцев назад +1

      Hey Daniel, I will include these in upcoming vids but shallow FL strain in the summer love faster pace baits either on top or around grass/brush.
      Buzzbaits, frogs, and ploppers are my favorite. But faster retrieved swimjigs in bluegill colors and large 10-12” Texas rigged worms around grass or brush are hard to beat in the summer!

      @@Zaldaingerous ya everyone has different experience on these lakes they change so much and with spots its challenging for sure I actually fished a lot at that lake and I catch dinks for the most part but I have randomly stumbled on some real big largemouth that's the reasoning. I never been to McClure I need to check it out obviously coming from you

      Those spotted bass are a lot more hardy than you think. I’ve seen them literally beach themselves trying to eat bait at Smith so I don’t think 20 seconds out of the water is anything new to them 😂
