I’ve got 42 ish degree water right now so I’ve been fishing jerk baits but the last three days when that bite has shut off I’ve pulled out my new Old School jigs and caught more fish! Really good product!
Randy. Once you are done giving us all these special secrets. Please please please put all these videos on one dvd and sell it. It will last in my family for ever. I grew up watching Roland since I was born with my uncle and grandfather. My kids would grow up watching you !
I agree. The jig he was holding which he referred to as brown and orange looked like jeep green and orange. I thought well maybe its just how the video came out. But then, the next jig he holds is brown, and he calls it brown. And my eyes see it as brown. So ya, a discrepancy. I just assume he held up the wrong jig. Cause where I fish in California. Brown with a little orange is one of my favorites.
@Randy Blaukat where can I order skirts for these jigs? I can't find any good spots that sell them. Thanks in advance for any help, and thanks for sharing so much!
Between the type of lighting, color response of the camera, camera software, your ambient lighting, and the tech in your screen, you can’t trust the colors you see.
Randy, you rarely talk about fishing around grass. Do you even use jigs around grass edges or in holes, and if so what color? You talked in this video about jigs around wood, bushes, rocks, and docks... but my favorite lake has tons of tall weeds and grass. Any advice?
Hey Randy, on a FTM Live, maybe a year ago, or longer.. I remember you and johnny talking about how you shouldn't flip a jig down any bare bank, and that it should be used in "a specific spot, within a spot" can you revisit that for us? Thanks
Flipping and jigs is two separate issues. Flipping is a short-cast technique to reach a specific target. Jig is a type of lure. If by flipping you meant all casting types, then I just wasted a weekend assembling my jig kit, because I’m stuck on the bank.
Hey Randy your going to turn me into a jig expert thanks for all of this information I'm so glad when I do get a boat I won't be lost on what to do out on the water and what colors to use. God bless you and your family your pal fisherman Mike.

What’s the go to color for water clarity over 4ft? The Ozarks has a lot of water that’s quite clear as you are very familiar with. Maybe a jig isn’t the deal for very clear water?
Nice stuff Randy , I watch most of your videos. I might be jumping the gun here, but what would you suggest when bass are keying on bluegills? I used to tie green pumpkin on top with a mix of orange and chartreuse on the lower sides and bottom matched with a single tailed blue grub ....usually Yamamoto. This worked great early summer through early fall on the cal delta flippin & pitching weed edges...may not get a ton of bites, but usually big ones. I didn't fish em like a swim jig, just let em fall, most bites on the initial drop. When I started doing this I caught more 6-10 #ers in one season than the previous 4 yrs combined......thanks Cooch!
Great information as always and my Baitwrx order is on the way!! I got some of the black/ blue tensil and the all brown jigs and some 110's to boot. Things are thawing out here and can't wait to try these!! One thing, I watched a video on RUclips and they had a fish tank and they were demonstrating the difference between silicone jigs and the rubber jigs. It is unreal as to how much better the rubber jigs flared out in the water compared to the silicone, it made the jig presentation that much better!! Get a tank and do a video for us if possible please!! :)
ok just to be clear ,, your talking about brown and orange jig but your holding a green and orange jig .. so which is it ,, did you get tongue tied or hold up the wrong color ,,No worries , that happens tp me all the time Lol.....but i need to know bcus ijust ordered a few from you
Man I finally found a pack of the Dye Marker Pens been looking for 2 years at my local store. The dye pens have taking my jig customization to the next level ,really awesome man I can make so many different jig combo's its SICK AF! Usually I try to find a crawdad before I launch and whatever color he is I just try to match the natural forage of my river and on the days I do find a crawdad to copy, its usually HAMMERTIME ! Cant wait to get me some B.O.S.J.'s. Soon as I get my tax refund! BOOYAH!!!
Lots of guys saying that. Between the type of lighting, color response of the camera, camera software, your ambient lighting, and the tech in your screen, you can’t trust the colors you see.
What no red??? Telling you in TN a red (living rubber) jig pinkish hue. With e a zoom white pearl chunk dipped in red spike it garlic dye is money. Randy, have you never tried a red jig?
So I'm curious Randy, are you color blind or is your video color off maybe? That "black and Chart" is not black, thats brown maybe, and that "brown and Orange" is green.. I'm really curious about this.. the "brown" looks a slight lavender meets gray color..
Lot of guys already said that. Between the type of lighting, color response of the camera, camera software, your ambient lighting, and the tech in your screen, you can’t trust the colors you see.

I would love to catch more bass on a jig! The brown and orange jig looked more like green pumpkin and orange.
Yes.that straight brown is not the same color as that green and orange

I love living rubber it just comes alive in the water!
Yup love the videos
Hopefully get a boat and just have fun trying all these tips out
Excellent video!
At $9.99 a piece, these jigs must have gold in them. Just a ridiculously high price.
@Randy Blaukat where can I order skirts for these jigs? I can't find any good spots that sell them. Thanks in advance for any help, and thanks for sharing so much!
Why was the brown jig brown and the brown orange green pumpkin and orange?..

I used to get a jig that was brown, in certain light it turned purple. I used to catch everything on that color even landlocked striped bass.
You know you’ve made it when you have a gate at the end of your driveway.

I wondered the same thing..
Maybe if he brings out a swim jig...
Great video, left me wanting more
Great info! I can’t get out enough to experiment, so videos like this give me valuable rules-of-thumb.
Man randy ur killn it with the videos! Every time I thought that was the last one for the day, I get another tip! 🙏 Thanks
Suggestion for future video: trailer types and colors for these select jig color scheme scenarios you laid out out here today🙏
I would imagine in these cold conditions; we need to use trailers that do not have a lot of action or move a ton of water.
I have seen videos of Randy liking the zoom salty super chunk.
@@rhmrtrt9672 And natural colors, since slow winter bass require finesse.
This videos came out at the perfect time, I've been binge watching all your jig videos about to order some of your jigs thanks for the tips
Get some of these jigs they are worth it!

I remember that video also, they said that flipping a jig needs a specific target.

You're *
Last two yours are correct but the first one is you are or you're *
Great info but I'm confused...the brown and orange one seems a dark green and orange And the last one brown seems a dark purple one to me

Brown and orange looked a very light green,
Straight brown looked light purple,
Lighting difference?

@@ricksonora6656 thanks brother! Gotta check out a few baits through a lense and find similar colors!
@@marshmellow303 Great idea! It would be interesting to take pictures of various lures in sunlight, using filters that simulate water tint and depth.
I’ve caught hawgs on black and blue jigs , love the tensil too

Hey randy can you talk about scent ?
Shoot I guess I’ll have to get some of these jigs sometime. They just look so legit.
randy do you ever use bubble gum skirts on jigs or spinnerbaits for smallies?
Hey what kind and color jig did you use to win the buggs tournament years ago? Was it the one u modified in the pros pointer at the end?
Black/chart
I love jig fishing 🎣 Thank you sir !
Randy may be color blind … seems to mix up browns and greens … regardless, thank you so much for the info !
