    @Randy - Good video. Very curious why you don't use a swim jig in water with greater than 3ft of visibility? I crush big Smallies on them post spawn with visibility up to 10ft up here in Massachusetts.

    I’m curious, what do you fish in super clear water, it seems like every lure you talk about is visibility 3’ or less.

    Many years ago fishing in Canada before the swim jig craze retrieving my jig back to the boat the bass would bite the jig, just like Randy said. So instead of pitching jigs in the weed beds I started casting and swimming them back. Sometimes as fast as you could retrieve it. Those crazy bass, you never know.

    12-15 inches is muddy water. If it isnt 4-5' visibility then its not very clear. Black and blue/purple works excellent in Florida. Have never caught anything on a white jig except in cases of moving water where they hit anything that touches the water.
    What is a good jig to use in just rough fishing conditions, lily pads, large amounts of underwater logs and sticks and clear water? I go back in areas where only kayaks can get to due to shallow water and log blockages and have caught and seen some massive bass but it is really rough fishing and spend half my time spooking fish by trying to unstick my lures.

    Hi do you think the color of the clothing you wear matters when bass fishing some people say the fish can see you

    A small window air conditioner needed for your bass cave. Now I love jig fishing caught my largest large mouth on a black jig with a purple tail , don't tell anyone 🙂

    Really trying to learn the swim jig as a bank fisherman it seems to work the best for all around. I fish mainly ponds with a lot of grass.

    Do you agree with the view that says wherever you fish a spinnerbait you can fish a bladed jig? Can you use the same type of retrieve?

    Tom Monsoor and some of the other upper Mississippi river fishing greats have been swimming jigs for bass probably longer than anyone really. I've been fishing them since the late 1990's when I got onto that technique really heavily. I agree that simply reeling in a "flipping jig" and having a bast bust on it may be a way that many people got on to the technique. But no one really knows who or when it was "discovered". I think probably the guys up north have been really doing it the longest and they have it really dialed in on how it's most productive. Not sure what you mean by "perch pattern" ?.....Perch and sunfish are not even closely related. Perch look more like walleye. Sunfish pattern, I agree, can be really fantastic and is way underutilized by most. I think it works better than shad pattern (even on mainly shad lakes).

    Hey Randy why do you cut the wire off the jig? Why don't you just remove the split ring, swivel and blade. We are talking about a jig thats $2 more than your jig. Thanks for the color tips.

    those megabass things aren't swim jigs -- closer to a skirted underspin.

      What's the difference in a skirted underspin with a weed guard and a swim jig? Sadly, Randy would agree with you.

      HIGH APPEAL SWIMMER
      but all us working class people don’t really care about that because it’s a swim jig to whoever calls it one so go argue with someone else on another ch if you don’t like what is said shown are talked about

      Yea but they will not come through wood like a spinnerbait it will roll with the wire it’s on and put the hook right in the wood trust me and the 30$ lesson I learned brother but grass is awesome with it

    • @clay7514
      @clay7514 2 года назад +1

      Yea I’m just not sold on em yet that they will do any better than a spinnerbait when they’re on a spinnerbait bite. And I bet so, find every hang up in the lake

    • @brianpierson7708
      @brianpierson7708 2 года назад

      Yea but they do have a really good spot in my box because sometimes they just will not come out the grass for a spinner bait but a jig will pull them up if you drop in the holes but it has a lil flash to get there eye but not like big shad being chased like a bluegill running small shad but you cut the wire off with dikes and you have a jig that shines in eelgrass and roseo cains but I’m in southeast Louisiana fishing rivers and the marsh

      Yes...I spent many years on the design. While it is an honor to have Megabass copy and produce my patented "Laterally Spaced Spinner" US. patent #5,956,886 it would be nice to at least have some recognition for being the one who designed the bait. Megabass began making and selling this bait before the patent had expired. Having a disability an enduring many corrective surgeries over the past 20+ years I was unable to defend my patent. To date I haven't received so much as nickel, a phone call or
      recognition for this lure design from Megabass... That is disrespectful, a disgrace and without honor. Prove me wrong Randy
