I've done all these things for decades. You are right, it is satisfying. I grew up and experienced lean times. I can't waste money or things. It is not in my nature. My children and husband have a hard time understanding this. They say that I make too much work for myself. They don't know the feeling of not having enough food or money.
In order to be able to be a stay at home Mom, I had to learn how to make my husband's income stretch. I started sewing again and made clothes, household decor, bedding, etc. I learned to do hair cuts, coloring, perms, etc. I think you're right about the sense of accomplishment that comes from knowing you can do things.😊
I love thinking about your comment on mending. It's so important to create a life worth mending. Relationships worth mending, clothing worth mending, a home worth mending. Something sometimes forgotten in our fast times
I was gonna add cooking before seeing the last skill. This is the biggest money saving skill for me. I still spend more money on groceries than I do on rent and transportation. My husband cuts my hair, my son’s and his own hair:), I do my own nails mani/pedi (never paid anyone), eyebrows, dye my own hair, diy home renovations, changed our own hardwood flooring, painting, etc.
I learned to sew from my mother; she was a master seamstress. As a child, she made all my school clothes. They were very detailed and pretty, but looked nothing like what the other kids wore. I hated being different. All I wanted was to buy the pleated skirt and sweater sets the other girl’s wore. Because of this, I never really made use of my sewing skills. And I probably won’t. Living in my car has taught me to pare down my wardrobe very small, and to become attached to very specific items. I have become attached to clothing made from modal, a natural fiber made from the pulp of eucalyptus trees. It has natural anti-microbial qualities that prevent it from smelling for days. I have black t-shirts I can easily wear for several days. But I am not fashion forward like you, and much more concerned with comfort and easy care. I pretty much live in black modal t-shirts and modal pants in various colors. As for cooking, I have done it all my life and am good at it. In the car, it is necessarily pared down. I mostly use a small electric skillet and a HotLogic, which is like a small warming oven I can plug into the car. In my skillet my favorite things are rice and beans, with various additions like avocado, cheese, salsa, corn, green onions, sour cream, hot sauce, etc. just depends on what I have. I also love sweet potatoes and make various concoctions with them. So yes, I think cooking is an important and undervalued skill. I have saved myself a lot of money avoiding fast food. I would say nomading is a skill. I know how to hide in plain sight and live in my car in any town or in the wilderness. And yes, there is a lot to learn. I’m very pleased with the skill I have built! I also think your ability to turn your ideas into well edited videos is quite remarkable!! Bravo! Good job! Love to you and Brian. I’m on the road in Canada now. It’s very beautiful! 💕💕
I do my own hair as it's the best decision I have made. salons are so overpriced, and they never do my hair right (i have 3c hair, very curly and difficult to manage). learning how to cut, style and maintain hair has saved me THOUSANDS of dollars over the years. I also learned to cut other people's hair and it's such a good skill to have.
I think it is so important to know how to make things and also how to repair things in your home. We have many young neighbors and it’s like they are all helpless. Most don’t know how to cook, so they go out to eat everyday. They cannot repair items in their homes and rely on neighbors to lend them the items they need to do any work. We do not mind helping people, but many times when we receive the tools back, they are in poor shape. It can be very frustrating.
Hi Ana, thank you for your video. My mum taught me to knit and sew from a young age, she made all our clothes from off cuts that my gran bought at her work at a clothing factory. We would open the large bundle with excitement to see what was there. The fabrics were beautiful as the factory made beautiful clothes. Linen, lace, cotton and lace. That is, where my love for natural fabrics started. I used to knit clothes for my doll and teddy bear. I have always enjoyed cooking and find it a great de stressor. Like you I practice self massage and studied, massage, aromatherapy and reflexolgy much later in life. Thank you for sharing your passions with us. You are really a talented being with so much to share, thank you. I would also love to learn how to cut hair, I have trimmed here and there on my own hair , but I don't have the expertise, keep us posted on your haircut journey . Big hug to you and Brian❤❤❤Gale
Hi Ana, my father was a self taught and extremely skilled handy man. Whether it be carpentry, plumbing, electric repair or auto repair, he just figured out what to do! He saved us hundreds of dollars yearly in car repair alone. An amazing man. I, on the other hand, have a long and impressive list of failed attempts at home repair projects. My current strategy is to take care of things the best that I can, so I won't need to call in a professional very often. Regarding hair cutting, I had to resort to doing it myself when the pandemic struck and the salons closed. Fortunately, all I need is an electric clipper. I put on the correct hair length guard and mow it down, just like I do when mowing the lawn! ☺ Saves me $20/month!
Hi Ted, taking a good care of things to make them last longer without any repairs is a great strategy! Clippers are such a great investment and they can even be used for different types of cutting hair. I will have to research this better 😊
I really appreciate that you know the limitations of your knowledge and don't demonstrate your exact techniques. When there is so much misinformation online, referring people to experts instead is such an important public service. P.S. Your crocheted vests are so amazing!
Being able to provide for yourself is so empowering, I love your insight on this topic. As humans, we’re drawn to shortcuts and have these totally restrictive perfectionistic tendencies… which ultimately keep many of us stuck. Society would tell you that wealth and materialistic pursuits are where you find happiness, but I think most of us know better. There’s joy in giving yourself permission to try new things. Not for money or to make other people admire you, not for any other purpose than just allowing yourself to express yourself and create. It saves money, and as you said, clears space for powerful insight -both internal and about the world at large. We’re all going yo die after all… so why not get our hands dirty, and immerse ourself in this crazy magical unexplainable experience?! Thank you again for your valuable, inspiring insight! ❤ Oh! I cut my own hair, it started during my punk rock days when I shaved my head. I cut my husbands hair too, which for some reason is a little more challenging. Thank goodness he usually wears a hat! My advice for cutting your own hair: 1. Don’t do it after too much caffeine… you may be inspired and emboldened to try, but the outcome usually looks… jittery. 2. With that being said, if you do mess up, nobody notices. 3. I think it’s easier than many people think. To be clear, my haircuts are not symmetrical, plus I don’t have a ton of thick hair to whack away at…
Hi Katherine! I resonate so much with what you've said here, perfectly put ❤️ Thank you for the hair cutting advice, I'm definitely going to be terrified with my first tries 😅
I love cooking and it's my love language nr. 1. I try to repair my clothes and I started cutting my own hair. Art and music making are my hobby and I was able to earn money at least for the music. I grew my own veggies and herbs and I would like to do this in the future. And I let go of many material things which serve me no longer like books for example.
Ana, what a happy film! I have done all of these things; mostly sewing and creating art. I used to make some clothes. It’s just that I lack patience! These days I am using my sewing machine for repairs and alterations to my own clothes, such as shortening hems on trousers. My mother taught me to sew. She used to make most of my clothes when I went to school. I have even cut my hair numerous times. It didn’t turn out too badly, although I am not trained at all in that skill! It’s going to be fun, and I am glad you’re going to try it!
I recently discovered darning. I've been having so much fun darning socks, fitted bedsheets, towels etc. Trying different colours and patterns making the darned peaces more fun. I also got into sashiko mending. That's a Japanese mending technique using very beautiful patterns.
Hello! Thank you for this content! I am slowly adding skills to my list. I dabble in simple sewing and mending, crocheting, and am currently learning knitting. I have also learned to make dish washer powder and liquid laundry soap. Homemade deodorant is a work in progress😂. And my oldest child (23yo) has trusted me to cut his hair for the past few years now. It is not a fancy or fashionable cut, but does what he needs - keeps his hair tidy and out of the food (he works in food service). It also gives us a chance to chat and catch up while I cut. Cooking has become not only about survival, but also a chance to bond with my husband, who loves to cook new things, our children, who want to help and spend time with us, and a chance for us to explore different cultures through food. Drawing and painting are things I do for enjoyment. I would like to learn to read music and play an instrument.
These are all great skills to have! 😊 I started taking my physical fitness really seriously this year, and I continue to gain muscle from it. I went to put on my linen jumpsuit today and could not get it past my thighs and glutes! 😅 The torso is a roomy wrap-style fit, so I cut away the torso, hemmed it, and will be sewing the matching fabric belt to the hemline to make a wrap-style top! 👍👍 Later on I will find a way to reuse the fabric from the bottom half of the jumpsuit as well! 😊
I’m trying to start crocheting clothes now. It is very satisfying, my grandpa was tailor and He teach me how to sew, so I would like to sew me clothes 😊 Love your videos!!
Ana-First, let me say you look so beautiful. 🥰 I think the sills you describe are the ones that used to be handed down from older generations- parents and grandparents and mentors. These skills enable us to slow down and live life intentionally and mindfully. It’s easy to thoughtlessly toss something in the trash and run out to pick up another. But slowing down to assess whether the item can be repaired is good for us and good for the planet. I enjoyed this video. I have been cutting my husband’s hair for years and it has saved us thousands of dollars. He does complain that it’s hard sometimes to get an appointment if I am really busy. 😊I know you can learn this skill, too!
Yes, Ana, you will learn how to cut hair! Covid turned out to be a blessing in this regard for me. I bought a set of secondhand Wahl hair clippers and practiced on my own hair. With practice using the various sizes of guards that came with the clippers, I now love being able to cut mine and my husband's hair anytime we want. We have even received compliments on our hairstyles. Even now when we could return to the salon, I find I don't wish to! I now have over 3 years of haircutting experience, and I'm not stopping! Take care, and remember, it's just hair, it does grow back!😅
You certainly make some beautiful art work and clothing, Ana, and I love that your dress has pockets! Pockets are so handy! Cooking is something that I've done for years, for my family and myself, and I used to love mending, but carpal tunnel pain makes that more difficult now. The self a massage is a great idea, and various exercises can help with those chronic pain issues. There is so much we can do to live more simply in this crazy World, and you are an inspiration! Take care, dear Ana! ❤🌼🌺
Yes, I do many of these things and enjoy them. Sometimes it's probably not cost effective to spend time and money on making or repairing but there's great satisfaction in getting exactly what I want when I do! 😊❤
I do all of these things to some extent. I knit and crochet, but I don't sew clothes. I do mend them, though. I have very short hair now, which I cut myself with an electric razor, and when it was longer I used to trim it myself. I'm sure you can learn this skill!
I haven't bought new clothes for 15 years, only in charity stores (with a few decided on exceptions). It has saved me so much money. I would like to become better at home DIY, especially working with wood and metal.
It’s a blessing to be able to make & do things for yourself without always having to rely on others. Another wonderful & enjoyable video. Thanks & keep well ❤
By the way - you can def. Cut hair! Its not that hard - and there are amazing videos about cutting mens short hair (if that is what he has) on YT. Sectioning is key. Trial and error. You can do it!!!!❤💫🥰
Hey Ana and Brian! Hope all is well with you and yours. Very helpful and encouraging video for all. I love gardening, prepping and cooking, designing and creating fiber and fine art, jewelry and fashion, cutting and styling my own hair, and self massage! What I'd like to learn is making my own mineral makeup and shake mixes, to be able to know what's in it and avoid cruelty and fillers. There's just so much personal satisfaction and pleasure in all of it, and we're sparing the planet and her resident incarnate souls from further contributions to industrial waste and slave labor, especially if using recycled fabrics, as you did with the tablecloth. I particularly like your hair, crochet fashions and bags, and collage and drawing art. You're very gifted and your posts are inspiring. Namaste'. 💖
I cut my own hair….some cuts are better than others, but no problems, it just grows back🙂 I am lucky to say my hair has a little curl to it so that can blend away some minor mistakes
Hi Ana, before I comment I want to let You know that You reinforced parts of my attitude towards minimalist and frugal living. I hope that You and Mr B (as I think of him) are doing well where You are during the heatwave in Europe. I have a sewing machine and grew with a grandmother born in 1898. I learned many thrifting "hacks" from her. I live in a big City+City area in the Southern US and when people groan about costs and Bill's and stuff and then fall off their chairs when I tell them that my fluctuating food costs per week over a year are on average of $25 -30. Choices are ours to make! Do I NEED this? Most likely not. Do I like it? For sure. Will my life be better if I can make it myself or get a secondhand/yardsale/ no brand sub? If that is the case I start ruminating and searching. Minimalism and Frugality are 2 different horses that can work beautifully as a team to pull the waggon of my life. Love hug to You and Mr B ❤ Edit: "food costs" include pet supplies etc.
@@wolfc8755Oh! Thank You so much for your compliment. Several branches of my Grandparents grew up with "Plowing Teams". There is always a "team"! ❤️ In loving memory
Ana, I so wish you had access to the thrift stores we have in the US! I'm a hardcore secondhand shopper and I can't imagine not having thrift stores. Like everything else, prices there have gone up so much recently, sometimes I find things there for more than you would pay for new. My biggest tip for finding craft supplies is estate sales, as you mentioned, older people almost always have some craft supplies, and often they are beautiful, vintage versions for far less than new, cheaply made items. Your tablecloth dress is amazing!
I haven’t been very good at do it yourself projects, I’ve always paid for them but I’ve always wanted to try to be more skilled. I’d like to improve my cooking skills and I’d like to learn how to knit and crochet. The only thing I’ve been good at is mending clothes. Thank you Ana for another useful video. ❤️🌹
Thank you for this!! I made a skirt from a bedsheet and an apron from a pillowcase just last week. It feels good to repurpose! I also haven’t paid for a haircut in many years :)
I really love your thoughts! I used to sew everything and got away from it quite q few years ago and now plan to get back into it .i do all my own painting in my house. art work is my sanctuary. I also garden and have taken a class learning what wild plants are edible and encourage them to grow in my yard. Love cooking I like to figure out how to make things with wood
Thrift/ charity shops are better in eastern europe, we (rural uk) only have the really worn-out local stuff, but all the stuff not sold here from posh areas gets shipped to eastern europe, from stylish countries too, like italy (i had eastern european friends is how i know). We never see the nice stuff from posh areas
I’ve been cutting my very short hair for about 4 years! It’s totally doable with practice. I did invest in cordless clippers and good shears and thinning shears. There are of course tons of RUclips videos about the subject! Good luck! You can do it! ❤
The self massage is essential for me now. My face, jaw and neck needs Daily help❤ Your clothes are amazing! The crochet vest is so modern 70s. 🦋🥰 I try to sew clothes as well, but I find that right now altering clothes is more viable for me and my patience😂 I have learned crocheting and I will take it up again in winter time. Right now I make music, artworks and food and love my journey ❤ It is so beautiful here. The song is soon done Anastasia. Thank you for giving me light in this time ❤
I have a rectangular hairbrush with coarse black plastic bristles, and a transparent blue, hard plastic handle. Nothing gets the knots out of my neck better than this hair brush! And it has sentimental value because I bought it in Iran where I grew up, over 15 years ago (I'm 29). I've also been getting rid of stuff for the thousandth time, but trying to keep the little things that hold a bit more of me in them. It's nice when they serve a dual purpose. This reminds of the plastic scalp massagers- why not just use your fingers or a hair brush?
Anita!!!! I’m always so happy to see a new video…no pressure tho 😂 I’m on a journey to learn how to crochet. I know how to knit but not crochet. I also want to make my own clothes
I've been cutting my own hair since I was about 14 years old because I was never happy after leaving any stylist. I've got rather difficult hair to work with lol One thing I can say for certain is that there are so many brilliant tutorials on RUclips these days that it makes learning very accessible. You will make mistakes in the beginning, and sometimes it will look horrible, but that's what hats are for :) you won't learn all of what you have to do to get it right without doing wrong a few times. That said, don't listen to what anyone says about "proper technique" because all that matters is that you achieve what you set out to do and enjoy the results. Cutting hair is like art, there's no one correct way to do it. Good luck!
Hi Ana My mother always knitted and sewed and I have always knitted sweaters for myself and my children, when they were small. I endeavour to repair everything that I can and there is definitely a sense of achievement in doing so. Take care of yourselves x
Same here, I see exactly what you mean. Learning the skill of cutting and dying my own hair is something to be taken in proper consideration 👌 However much I love my hairdresser I'd love more to be self sufficient in this field, thanks to Ana and you for the suggestion 🙏
I just found you channel today and I’ve been binge watching while I carry out my chores. You come across as a very calm, wise, thoughtful and caring person. I too am a crafter and introvert who struggles with anxiety. Thank you for opening up and sharing your thoughts and experiences. Next year I plan to learn crochet. Are you on Ravelry? I love the crochet vest you made, would you be able to tell me what pattern it is please. Kindest wishes for you ❤❤❤
I came of age in the 1970s, at the height of the women's liberation movement in America. My mother was very involved in this movement. So, at a very impressionable age, I absorbed the mindset that cooking and cleaning were not tasks for me or any self-respecting female. I was to go to college, and become a professional, which I did. I wouldn't exchange my childhood for anything. However, I feel like I really missed out as I have no cooking skills or handyman skills, and hate to clean. Why did I not watch my father fixing things all those years? He had a workshop and I could have learned from him. I'm at the point now where I feel overwhelmed by basic house-keeping skills I do not have, and feel too old to learn.
Hi Nanette ❤️ I'm sorry you have that feeling of being overwhelmed. But after all, our skills do not define us, we all have our unique paths. While society's paradigms change so often 😊 Thank you for sharing your story and your perspective, dear friend 🌸
Its funny but everything in my house is fixed by me. I had to learn from a young age living in a village because there was a distinct lack of men in my household lol... people are quite suprised by what I fix and tell me they would just call someone to fix it for them, when they are simple fixes.
I really love your videos. I've worked in the corporate world most of my life, but now at age 44 I'm experiencing a sort of midlife crises, I've quit my job, and now I'm mentally adrift. My husband and I don't have children (not by choice), so I'm thinking, why aren't our live easier than those who do? I know we'll be ok, because I've always had a positive, survivalist instinct/attitude, but recently things have been getting me down and some days I feel hopeless. I realise that things will be ok and fall into place when the time is right, I just need to slow down mentally, but it's really hard. Your videos really calms me down and yanks me back to reality when my mind goes haywire, thank you.
Hi Tillie 🌸 I understand your anxiety and fears so well, trust me... And I hope that everything will turn out just as you want it. It's hard not to follow the mainstream and please don't forget to give yourself credit for that. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experience here❤️ Sending love!
For a racing mind go for a walk in a park/ forest/beach. The whole idea is to walk in nature. Don’t go with earphones for music. Listen to the sounds of nature: birds, a stream/river/ oceans, children playing, laughing crying or screaming as they run, watch insects, wild flowers, green grass). Look up at the blue skies or clouds. Stroll aimlessly with no agenda than just to wander and marvel at God’s works. Believe me, I kind of know how you feel. Gratitude and being out in nature grounds me. Hopefully you will try it out and it will bring you peace.
This is a wonderful video Ana! I started cutting my own hair after all the shops near me closed and I refused to go somewhere that was not in walking distance. Also my Mom was a hair stylist so I was overly confident. You will be great at it! I love the clothes you have made, that dress is so lovely and so perfect for the hot summer here! Have a great week!
Dear Anna, thank for sharing your tips! Wanted to share my experiences on saving money, too: I used to have a totally different budget 5 years ago and sometimes was having food out three times a day, now I cook all of meals at home and eat out 1 or zero times a week :) I switched to hobbies that doesn't require spending money: like doing yoga at home, hiking, cycling. I stopped paying for services that I can actually do myself: I learnt how to do manicures, pedicures, epilation, face cleanings etc. All of that helped me live happily while limiting my expenses 5 times. Cutting hair is also the thing I would love to learn! Also wanted to ask you about the dress you made. I guess such project requires a sewing machine, right? I also want to try to make my own clothes but can't imagine for now having it cause I'm living a nomadic life and move a lot. Maybe you give some tips :)
Hi Nataly! Yes, I made the dress with a sewing machine, but it can be done with hand stitches too. There are some good hand sewing tutorials on RUclips and also Skillshare (by Bernadette Banner). I had to sell my machine as we decided to move again, and eventually I would love to get another one. But I've also heard about sewing coworking spaces where one can just come, pay a fraction of money and sew:) I hope to find one!
@@anagoldberg oh, that’s great! Thank you so much for your advice! That would be a great thing to find a coworking space like that ❤️ I’ll definitely check then lessons on hand stitching 🪡👍
My mother made sure that we all knew how to cook and sew. She was a tailor by trade so we all know how to make clothing although it's been years since I have made anything. I even learned how to draft a pattern from someone I once worked on an upstart clothing line with. I was always naturally gifted with art and am currently pursuing that as a career.
Hi Ana, like this video a lot! I feel it leads to something very crucial. We can can start today with our more sustainable life. It is interesting, beautiful and saves us a lot of money. What concerns the haircut, i would recommend a certain attitude. Love your hair. Start a journey to know more about it. Accept, that it is a living part of you, Get into a dialog. Learn about your beauty beyond fashion. Find a style that is close to your nature and is easy. May be you have to change your outfit to be in good resonance with your hair. I have a lot of curly hair and i could not accept it for a long time. It was a struggle with no satisfying result over many years. Then, some years ago, i was so tired of it and developed a desire to end this. My hair was very short then. First i stopped dying and anything else, I had to find out what does my hair like, when does it feel good and healthy. In the first month i did some cutting, because i still had certain styles in my head. In times of Covid then eyeryone in Berlin had growing, wild hair. Suddenly new things were possible. That is over now. But i have long, grey, curly hair in the meantime, which i can wear in different ways i like. I need a minimum of styling products, mostly water and sheabutter. No haircut any more and a lot of positive feedback.
Анна,какой вы милый,приятный человек. Такой отклик вызывается вашими видео и кажется,будто так много общего. И ваш "русский" английский,такой понятный ,заслушиваюсь. Вызываете исключительно тепло .Темы и рпзмышления очень близки
You are such an aware person, I know you have your own vision (of how you want to live), and this video resonates greatly! I would love to suggest you getting an oracle deck you would like to work with. I am particularly drawn to Linda Hill’s Red Seeds Oracle, but options are near limitless! I feel like sharing as perhaps you will feel additional touch of emotions, beautiful and immersive, insight provoking and, well, a message for a beautiful person - you! Ps just sharing what’s needed ❤ thank you
She certainly seems to have great insight, and know how to skills. I am certain growing up, living AND escaping from Russia taught her a great many things. The "escaping" Russia are my words, not her's. If any gop wins the White House, I will be escaping America!
Sei fazer todas essas coisas! Meus pais me ensinaram a cozinhar.
Apparently I am good in making something from nothing. Give me a choice and I will be miserable for days, but if I have to make something like a meal from a few products in the fridge, a curtain for a campervan (as we are maximalists in dreams, but minimalist in budgets 😅) , that's when i have a spark in my eye! Have a lovely week Ana!
I so agree that sewing and repairing lowers anxiety. Thank you, Ana.🌿
So true. Quiet manual work can in itself be a form of meditation.
I love thinking about your comment on mending. It's so important to create a life worth mending. Relationships worth mending, clothing worth mending, a home worth mending. Something sometimes forgotten in our fast times
I absolutely love this sentiment. So well said, my friend.
Thank you for sharing your story, Gale! Love to you ❤️
Hi Ana, my father was a self taught and extremely skilled handy man.
Thank you Ana, best to you....
Don't forget upcycling. Worn clothes can be a new quilt etc.
Thank you dear lady for these ideas.
Oh! I cut my own hair, it started during my punk rock days when I shaved my head. I cut my husbands hair too, which for some reason is a little more challenging. Thank goodness he usually wears a hat! My advice for cutting your own hair:
Your hair is really cute!
Wow!!! You made that dress?!? That’s amazing!!! It looks beautiful on you!
Oh, I LOVE how Sashiko looks and want to learn how to do it too 😊
Hi Ana, I wanted to mention this in your previous video: your current haircut really suits you, you look great with this length 😊❤
Ana-First, let me say you look so beautiful. 🥰
I think the sills you describe are the ones that used to be handed down from older generations- parents and grandparents and mentors.
Yay, Stine! Your plan about working with wood and metal sounds fantastic 😍
Namaste'. 💖
Hi Belinda! Thank you so much for your sharing and kind words, as always 🥰 Sending love!
I do all of what you mention here except the massage. I like feeling self sefficient.
Excellent video. Thank you!
I value YOU!!!!
I cut my own hair….some cuts are better than others, but no problems, it just grows back🙂 I am lucky to say my hair has a little curl to it so that can blend away some minor mistakes
Same😊
Hi Ana, before I comment I want to let You know that You reinforced parts of my attitude towards minimalist and frugal living.
Love hug to You and Mr B ❤
Edit: "food costs" include pet supplies etc.
Such an inspiring sharing! Thank you ❤️Sending hugs to you too!
Your second last sentence is pure poetry, beautiful!
@@wolfc8755Oh! Thank You so much for your compliment. Several branches of my Grandparents grew up with "Plowing Teams".
There is always a "team"! ❤️ In loving memory
@@ande100 😊
These things have always been obvious to me in my long life, and it always puzzled me that they are not to others.
Good to see you thriving! I wish the best of everything for you.
Oh, I hope once we make it to the US, I will dive in thrifting experiences 🥰 Can't wait!
I was just re-watching this video and cutting about 3 inches off my hair… I think it looks about 50% okay…. Doesn’t matter, it will grow again 🙂
What an inspiring video, Ana! Thank you for sharing! Greetings from Argentina!
Greetings back to Argentina from Belgrade! ❤️
love the tablecloth dress!
I have added the skill of growing an allotment this year. It's hard work but I enjoy the calm, slow, meditative pace I have when in my allotment.
Lovely video Ana. I dabble in all but one. You motivated me to explore the forst one - self massage. ❤
Ana, thanks for the video :) So important topic! 😊
If you don't have an iron, heat up a pan and use that as an iron. Hand sew if you don't have a machine.
@@mysli_vsluh Круто! Спасибо за подсказки))
I’ve been cutting my very short hair for about 4 years! It’s totally doable with practice. I did invest in cordless clippers and good shears and thinning shears. There are of course tons of RUclips videos about the subject! Good luck! You can do it! ❤
Thank you, Chris! ❤️
Ana I’m so happy I found your channel. I love your vibe and find your videos so inspiring and helpful.
I'm so glad to read this! Thank you for being here ❤️
Another great video Ana. Hope you and brain are well
Ana, can you share with us some recipes? The food in video looks delicious 😍
Oh Ana, self massage recommendation landed to the right place for me. Never did it, but I really want to try it now and search for tutorials.
Hi Vera! It's a definitely life-changing skill for me now:) Hope you'll find it useful as well!
The self massage is essential for me now. My face, jaw and neck needs Daily help❤
Your clothes are amazing!
The crochet vest is so modern 70s. 🦋🥰
I try to sew clothes as well, but I find that right now altering clothes is more viable for me and my patience😂
I have learned crocheting and I will take it up again in winter time.
Right now I make music, artworks and food and love my journey ❤
It is so beautiful here. The song is soon done Anastasia. Thank you for giving me light in this time ❤
Yay, I'm so glad your music making is thriving, dear Mio ❤️Thank you for all your kindest words, as usual 🌸
"me-made" is self-made in standard british english. Cf self-sufficiency
Terrific!! You are so inspiring...looking forward to your hair cutting video😊
Thank you, Catherine! ❤️
Yay, I'm excited for you to learn crocheting! I often like it more than knitting because of less messiness as you have just one hook to deal with 😅
I've been cutting my own hair since I was about 14 years old because I was never happy after leaving any stylist. I've got rather difficult hair to work with lol
One thing I can say for certain is that there are so many brilliant tutorials on RUclips these days that it makes learning very accessible. Good luck!
Thank you for this advice, my friend! 🌸
Hi Ana
My mother always knitted and sewed and I have always knitted sweaters for myself and my children, when they were small.
I endeavour to repair everything that I can and there is definitely a sense of achievement in doing so.
Take care of yourselves x
Hi Claire! Thank you for sharing 🌸 It's so heartwarming to have garments created by someone who loves you.
Would like to cut my own bob and do my own highlights! I live in Michigan and pay $200.00 including tip every 12 weeks. Yikes!
Kindest wishes for you ❤❤❤
Hello Melanie! Thank you for your kind words so much ❤️ I don't have a Ravelry account and unfortunately the vest doesn't have a pattern in English...
Thank you for your reply. Take good care of yourself ❤️
While society's paradigms change so often 😊 Thank you for sharing your story and your perspective, dear friend 🌸
lovely!
@@anagoldberg Thanks for the kind words💕
@@wangarimuriithi8748 thanks😘
This is a wonderful video Ana! I started cutting my own hair after all the shops near me closed and I refused to go somewhere that was not in walking distance. Also my Mom was a hair stylist so I was overly confident. You will be great at it! I love the clothes you have made, that dress is so lovely and so perfect for the hot summer here! Have a great week!
Thank you, my friend! 😊 You too, have a beautiful week ❤️
Wishing you all the best on your artist career path ✨
Did you sew contrasting fabric to the bottom of your pants in the beginning of the video? They look so cute.
Thanks Emily! Yes, I added cuffs to my linen pants to make them longer 😊
