- Olympic legend and world record holder Ryan Lochte comes up against Mason Manta Rays' Carson Foster - who, a few hours before, had broken the pool record by a full 2 seconds. Joining them in the Men's 200M IM A Final are Abrahm DeVine and Jay Litherland.
Will it be the twelve-time Olympic medallist, the University of Texas commit, the #4 in the nation or last night's 400m IM champion that will take first place? Join USA Swimming at the TYR Pro Swim Series at Greensboro to find out.
Lochte a great swimmer born in the wrong time, he was under Phelps shadow all his career
not rly all the time, Lochte came out on top in the 200im :P
@@williamwarren9397 never won 200IM at the Olympics.
@@game4ever818 which year?
Yeah who also made ALOT of bad mistakes
except in 2011 ( 200 IM WR 1.54.00 ) - he beat Phelps in 2 major races ( 200 free & 200 IM )
U guys gotta quit doubting lotche this is a meet in the middle of training for him u can tell, but if he gets in better shape he’ll be back very soon
dude, there is no way Lochte will make it in the 200m IM. The Lochte/Foster match at trials is one to look forward to though
Lochte will be 1:55 next year.
MrVpassenheim he wasn't that fast 4 years ago. Didn't he go 1:57 high at the Rio finals?
you’re high. foster is insane
Crazy how fast Lochte is while looking so sloppy
yeah cuz hes still got the speed lol, it doesnt all dissapear in a year
@F ST or next summer if he makes the olympic team again lol
@Allen Xu very few can, even now
@J H WOW hahahah!
Lol yeah look at his pullout it’s so sloppy but he still kept up with carson
Dude seriously swimmers have their own body type.
I like to call it dorito
why does lochte have a 50 year old man body
wouldn't that include some sort of gut on average
Da Beers!
Perhaps it’s because he’s 35 years old !
Oof wow yeah
It’s 90% muscle
he’s pretty old and still doing this stuff i’m impressed
Man Lochte needs to stop wearing those high waisted suits. Not a good look
I mean highwaisted does help with your core a bit, but it is just preference.
@Space QuackHD oh yea for sure, it's definently better
Space QuackHD I like the venzo🥵🥵🥵 I own one
It looks so ugly lmfao
He needs to lose weight
Holy smokes Foster! Only added half a second from Jr Worlds!
He is in training, The fact that he's this close to his Jr worlds performance is actually impressive.
Am I the only one who thinks Lochte can be the best in the world again,he is not even in shape here got 2nd
"my brother is a breast stroker" - Carson Foster
The frick is this comment supposed to mean? In what sense is Jake not a breaststroker?
I'm calling it now: Carson foster will win the 200m IM gold in 2024 paris. That is assuming he can obtain a typical college growth pattern under eddie reese.
thats if eddie reese doesnt die of old age before that happens
just one or 2 years with Greg Troy will be enough ....
@@BlueHopi144 don't quote me on this, but I think Eddie Reese' swimmers have obtained more hardware than Greg Troy's swimmers have.
This is one of the time the audio is faster than the video. Is he seeing what I'm not seeing?
i'm just a passing swim fan but Lochte didn't even look like he's in shape. is there a back story surrounding that i'm not aware of?
Smoking out munching with Phelps .... You know that high power performance enhancement...
just coming back from a ban at the time of this vid i think
Doesn’t lochte still hold the wr in this event?
yes
Yes
1:54.00
@@kocayhan yep, 6s slower at the age of 35
William Warren I think he was 1:57 in the summer. This meet is fairly un-tapered
All right, Lochte, just a few more months to get in shape. Go, baby.
Well, I mean he’s doing what he was born to do so good on him
I hope lochte can get in better shape by trials otherwise I'm doubting he will make the 2020 Olympic team
I think he will put a great efford for third at trials. I simply can't see him punch through the sea of 22-26 year olds that he needs to beat.
8 more months of training is still there to be gained from ....no worries
@@verward the older guys u speak of rarely been close to 1.56 apart from Kalisz ....so he has as much chances as the young unexperienced guns ....
Ryan Lochte! Go! You are the best!
Anybody noticed @ 4:31 Jay L (lane 6) was clearly looking down in the back-to-breast turn b4 touching the wall?
yeah, should've totally been DQ
lol this looks so rare, looking an olympic veteran who still looks young loosing to a swimming promise who looks 15, and then congratulating each other like it's not a big deal
its not a big deal - just fun racing
Ryan "Ryan Lochte" Lochte
Great Job, Ryan Lochte!!!! I'd pay ZERO attention to the keyboard warrior haters - none of them are out there swimming because it's what they love do to, in a meet where they're seconds away from beating a KID who grew up idolizing them, or working their assess off IN THE PUBLIC to rectify their past mistakes and earn a new reputation as an Olympian AND AN ADULT the country can be proud of. Ryan Lochte is doing what we should ALL strive to do when we've screwed up in the past, but we accept our responsibility and we put in the work to make it right. Give the man a chance...I guarantee that's exactly what YOU want people to do when you make mistakes.
And lochte is what double fosters age? Lol
Pretty much
yes
Being 18 isn't an advantage. Not in his prime yet.
Ryan Lochte been eating 12 to many Doghnuts lately....whats up with those old man shorts to hold his gut in???
For once, nice to hear a race call that's a little more straight forward without the screaming from Rowdy Gaines chiming in.
I like when they say the national record from other countries.
Think lochte just swam as many events as possible to make up for all the racing he's missed. Would've won 200 im at least if he had swam less like at nationals
I don't know. 1:58.9 is crazy fast in season. I don't think Lochte couldn't have ever done that at his age.
Ward Huyskes Lochte went like 2:00. Carson was the 1:58
It certainly would have been a lot closer. Margin of victory was only 1.7 sec, after all.
To make up for training he missed lol
Racing is the best training. His goal is NEXT year; he'll lose weight and taper, then we'll see if he's too late. He's got the talent. Remember what Phelps said after returning from his "retirement" between his 2nd & 3rd (I think) olympics? "You get what you train for."
This guy is crazy
isn't Lochte the one who embarrassed himself and America in Rio with all those lies??
Yup.
That was a real wake up call for him. He's making adjustments.
Yeah. Second best swimmer ever too. Don’t miss that fact out... dickhead
@@foolanhi8183 You can be an excellent swimmer and still be a giant tool, which Ryan was in 2016.
@@foolanhi8183 LOL.....first best liar.
On this video all swimmers had a good time
Ayeee, das my pool
Lochte will go 1:55 next year.
Carson will go 1:52 next year.
@nico 003 You don't know that.
@nico 003 No it's not, how come Caeleb Dressel swam an inconceivable time of 17.63 for a 50 free?
Luke Johnson short course yards, more training, and more experience?
@@SauceCake0I know!!! I swim a 19.84 50 free in short course. Tell me about more training and experience.
Couple of months before he made 200im almost 3 seconds faster than this time. What happens ? And I'm sure he has trained much harder before this race
He enter in a lot events, also he is fairly untapped.
@MotivationalBeast exactly
How exciting.
Where's Chase Kalisz?
at home ...or racing this sunday at ISL
His body says it all 😄
Lochte is powerful but is carrying a big frame thru water.
This is the best way to hype up swim season
The Announcer Should Have Said
Look At All Those Fishes
Why?
wow they are all looking quite heavy no?
So thats what dad bod looks like in swimming world.
What was that kid?? Faster or Foster? Or both? 😂
His brother is the faster 😂
Ryan... lookin a little old there. And completing the look by pulling your water tights up to your armpits. :D
The lochte roasts are too funny
But this is inspiring he’s a beast
Why are people getting so bent about comments on this?
how unsync this is makes me sad :
Despite Lochte's past, it's cool that he's this old and still pulling good times in his event. But on the other hand, at 4:33 in the video you can see him hit that illegal breaststroke pullout. Too bad Cody Miller got DQ'd in Peru for something Lochte just got away with.
Can you explain how it's illegal? I don't know swimming haha.
@@ahildy Well with a breaststroke pullout you're technically allowed one dolphin kick, most breaststrokers take the dolphin kick, then pull their arms down, but as they pull their arms down their legs tend to follow a natural rhythm that can resemble a very subtle dolphin kick, this is probably done on purpose by most athletes to get a slight edge before they breakout; not to mention it's hard for officials to see without an underwater camera. This issue is what got Olympic Swimmer Cody Miller disqualified in his 100 breaststroke at the Peru Pan American Games. It's an obnoxious discrepancy and truthfully officials should just leave it be.
@@andysteinkamp9708 Thanks.
@@andysteinkamp9708 I don't see anything ilegal in his pull out. On the other hand, look the Lane-6 back-to-breast turn... totally ilegal
Swimming, wow. I hope curling is next.
I want to see how fast can he go real rested, but man, it doesn't look good
heavy training with Troy - never heard of that in season slow Lochte times ? u were hibernating or soemthing all those years ?
@@BlueHopi144 During late 2015 and early 2016 he only swam 1.58's in the 200 IM, and in Rio he went 1:57. Now his best time is 1:57 and he goes 2:00. He is slow. Check your facts before trying to make someone look like an ignorant...
the future is now old man
Lochte good
Time waits for no one
Michael Andrew vs. Carson Foster.
Luke Johnson both guys are beasts but very different, Andrew is a sprinter and Carson swims IM hella good, I’m saying this right now, Carson will be on Tokyo 2020 for 200 and 400 IM
@@erickp.c4665 I know but it would be fun to see.
@@erickp.c4665 u forget Litterland , Lochte and Kalisz ....or Seliskar in the mix
Bluehopi Waltz lots of fun next year on trials
@@erickp.c4665 oh yes ....it will be fun & exciting to watch 😄
It's early. They all look out of shape
This was the weirdest swimming video to watch for the lack of noise and cheering.
I know!! Very strange.
Results of a sober 18 year old vs a rehabed former Olympian. Those empty carbs make all the difference. Looks like a manatees chasing a penguin through the water.
Astonishing how fast foster is..bad for Lochte I wish he could make it to the 2020 Olympics but I don't think so
@F ST age gets to your muscles. It's harder to be a tight when you get older
u are way too fast with that little mind though bubble ....it shows u dont know Lochte's fighting competitive spirit at all . Trolls always troll without facts
Carson has the fastest 400im of 2021, missed out on the Olympics but beat everyone who raced in it. he got a 4:08!!
I thought swimmers were supposed to be ripped
lochte did not win gold in 2012 or actually ever in the 200 im
yes he did in World championships ....get informed dude
He sure did . Please know facts before saying something. Please and thank you
Bluehopi Waltz Phelps won the 2012 olympics but Lochte beat him from the world record at 2011 Worlds. Lochte never won the 200 IM at the olympics.
Farrah White You get informed bro, he didnt win the 2012 olympics in the 200 im idk what youre on
@@pureloor8634 correct 100 %
Lochte is so much cooler as all u haters together...
Do they carry extra fat for buoyancy?
Every swimmer in that A final easily qualified for the 2020 Olympic trials. Carson was 11 seconds faster than it. Carson also beat world record holder Ryan Lochte.
The trials cut is a 2:04.09. Not everyone in that heat got it. Carson Foster was only a little more than 5 seconds under, not 11.
@@Shawkster6 It's actually 2:09, check the right website next time grandpa.
u have been smoking lately ....it shows
@@danielfoley9034🤦🏻
Lochte looks like a turtle... Carson should pick up his game!!
I hate the whistling during breast. You fucking cant hear that shit jn the pool
No Phelps. Like watching NBA after Jordan left
Locate looked out of shape and pretty unconcerned.
You all act like Lochte is this idol..... do you not remember the 2016 rio Olympic Games?
Not a fan of Lyin' Caught-me. Rio. Disgracing himself is one thing, to repeatedly lie and disgrace your country is entirely on another level!
Ryan needs to retire and bring Rowdy with him.
@Space QuackHD Smallest? You must be a special type of stupid.
ok boomer
retire? why? if he doesn't make it to the olympics or even he if doesn't win at all, who cares if he still enjoys it, he still doing impressive times at 35. Not everything is about winning specially when you have given all. What happens to love for the sport?
