FUCK THE HARD DIFFICULTY OF ALL-STAR MODE! SERIOUSLY! I'm not a fan of All Star-Mode of Smash games if it wasn't for the one life "limit"(Since if you get KO'd at any possible moment, you have to start the entire mode ALL OVER AGAIN! THIS IS JUST PAINFUL!) & I got the feeling that in every new games, it get more worst & more frustrating. This All-Star Mode of this game is without the doubt the most frustrating I've ever seen for many reasons. 1. The Rubber-Banding CPU whom they were SO FUCKING CHEAP as ever! 2. You have to fight 7 CPU opponents(3 at a time) meaning that you're gonna take alot of damage from them no matter how good you are. 3. I swear the healing items between rounds are a bit inferior than previous Smash game's All Star Mode since you have Maxim Tamato, a Fairy Bottle(Which was a terrible item to use in battle which is why that in Smash Mode, I have to turn it off), & 2 Heart Containers. 4. NO FUCKING RANDOM ITEMS THIS TIME AROUND UNLIKE PREVIOUS GAMES! WITHOUT THOSE THINGS, THIS IS THE MAJOR REASON WHY THIS GAME HAS THE WORST ALL-STAR MODE I'VE EVER EXPERIENCE ESPECIALLY WHEN DEALING THE HARD DIFFICULTY WHICH IT'S CPU OPPONENTS ALWAYS GIVE ME PAIN NO MATTER THE CIRCUMSTANCES! NO HAMMER, NO BEAM SWORD, NO HOME RUN BAT, NO SMASH BALL, NOTHING! 6. One of the challenges require me to do the Hard Difficulty with all characters which itself IS A COMPLETE MADNESS IN A TEDIOUS WAY! IT'S JUST STUPID PADDING IN A FRUSTRATING WAY ESPECIALLY WHEN USING SOME OF THE WORST CHARACTERS OF THIS GAME! 7. You can't use customization in this mode! With Stadium Mode not using it, I can understand. NOT HAVING TO USE THE CUSTOMIZATION IN ALL STAR MODE IS JUST UNACCEPTABLE! LIKE #4, NOT HAVING THE OPTION TO DO THAT MAKES GOING THROUGH THAT MODE IN HARD DIFFICULTY A FUCKING HELL! 8. Because the game chooses whatever it wanted due to it's luck-based mechanics, your character will be at it's disadvantage if the game choose the stage that's not comfortable. 9. Usually when new opponents spawn when old opponents have been defeated, they usually give you a cheap hit as soon as it appeared which is FUCKING annoying. No doubt that this game's All Star Mode is the absolute worst I've seen. It's actually the worst part of the Single-Player Mode(Not counting the infamous Smash Tour). WHY IS IT THAT THE SINGLE PLAYER MODE GETS MORE WORST IN EACH NEW GAMES!? Once again, they pale in comparison to Melee's Single-Player Mode.
HAL 9000 GOD? You mean a hardcore player? If so, thank you! When playing some of the worst characters of the game like Villager, it took me so many "Game Overs" & wasted so many hours to finally beat that damn "Hard Difficulty" all because of so many problems this All Star Mode have. Everytime I've lost to this mode, I raged! And I raged HARD! I hated any shit that forced me to do the entire thing all over again every time I get a Game Over. I'm glad I've beaten all the challenges & for that, I'll never go back to Single Player Mode ever again. I'm the gamer who wants to have fun & I hated anything that's frustrating.
I'm a hardcore smash player myself and I'm STILL trying to beat all of the challenges, But JESUS CUNT CHRIST the true all stars on hard is a fucking. I have beat almost every characters but not the villager he's weak as FUCK😡💀👿
HAL 9000 If you desire to beat all the challenges, maybe you should do the practice mode against the CPU not just to find the best way to use the best moves of certain characters, but also dealing with the higher leveled CPU. Can you try? After beating all the challenges, you'll never play the single player modes again?
I'm good at smash I don't need practice hell, I'm really good at 9.0 on classic mode but all stars mode is a pain in the ass for me. I will still play single player until I get all of the custom parts for the character and does damn hard to find Amiibo figures.
A short animation someone should make: Ness tries to knock himself back to the arena with a Psi Thunder but Villager pockets it. Ness barely manages to grab the ledge anyway. Then he looks up & there's Villager standing over him. Just looking him dead in the eye with a smile on her face. Holding a bowling ball. Side note: Her little dance at the end of the credits is adorable.
True All-Star Mode is where you'll fight every character in the game. Regular All-Star mode is just the default roster without the unlockable characters.
I hated the Villager as a Smash character. From the moment this character makes an appearance in the first reveal of the game, it give me the lame impression. I believe that if the character's moves are not executed well, it's gonna be one of my least favorite characters of the game & for that, I WAS RIGHT! Villager was without the doubt the worst character I've ever played of SS2014 for many reasons. 1. The Up Strong has a poor range even if it can launch opponents upwards 2. The Side Smash is not only slow to execute, but also having a piss poor range. 3. The Down Smash only works on grounded opponents. It never works on anyone who jumps a bit low. 4. I swear that the Up Smash has a bad hit detection similar to Samus's Up Smash. It only works on airborne opponents & big opponents which I rarely do. 5. The Dash Attack has a poor recovery. 6. The Side Air Attack uses a Slingshot which was pathetic since the hit detection is bad 7. I SWEAR THE UP & DOWN AIR ATTACK IS RANDOM WHICH I HATED! 8. Neutral B is only used on items & projectiles which is what I call situational. 9. You can only fire one Lloid Rocket at a time & it's power is weak. I rarely used that Special. 10. "TIMBER" IS SO EXTREMELY SLUGGISH & SO AWKWARD TO USE THAT I NEVER USED IT! As the result of those flaws of the "Villager", it's straight up there with some of my least favorite Smash character to use of the Smash games(Along with Wii Fit Trainer, Pokemon Trainer with the exception of Charizard, Lucas, & the infamous Pichu). Unless I'm using the customization(Like giving it the Beam Sword for more added range or the Home Run Bat for getting more KOs), this fighter stinks as a whole.
It takes a lot of practice to be good with Villager at high level play. He/she’s very technical and therefore you have to make use of ALL their tricks. There’s no single smash attack to spam that’s reliable. Have you tried the down tilt A? It’s surprisingly effective.

What is 'True' all star mode?
True All-Star Mode is where you'll fight every character in the game. Regular All-Star mode is just the default roster without the unlockable characters.
