Definitely beneficial for those on a high-carb or junk food diet, because you want to sweep that material out of your body, but for those on a nutrient-dense animal-based diet, any fiber (and other anti-nutrients) eaten alongside the meat can bind to it and prevent nutrient absorption (making "expensive poop"). I'm a carnivore but also have a garden. The only fruit/veg I personally eat is what I grow, or what I get from a local grower. That means that in northern Utah, I only have any fruit/veg sparingly, and only a few months out of the year. The rest of the year is hardcore carnivore. Hey Mike - Regarding the dog's dry poop on a raw diet... have you researched this? I was relieved to hear you say this because our dog is the same and I was worried that he is missing some sort of nutrition and appreciate the peace of mind!
I know they say that on the Carnivore you don’t have as much poop and you don’t go as often. So I’m sure it’s a bit difficult for people new to this diet when they now go sometimes only once a week and don’t see very much in the toilet. At what point does the food start to rot in the colon ?
Why would meat 'rot' in your colon? Your digestive system is quite capable of digesting meat and those who must wear ostomy bags report that meat liquifies completely, unlike plant foods and fungi which look like you chewed them up and spat them back out again.
I try to avoid grains, and if I do it has to be mid day not earlier or later, but I eat fruit, herbs and meats. No pork, its just too fatty, but I do love me some bacon.
LOL, I went on Carnivore, and we started feeding our dog green beans and lean meat scraps because they can't handle the amount of fat humans can. She dropped 5-8lbs plus she has more energy at 14 than she did at 8 , she dropped weight faster than we are.
Keto is great for me, but not carnivore. I added frozen blueberries with greek yogurt, cheese, nuts/seeds, homemade fermented vegetables and homegrown sprouts. Now I’m running on all cylinders. Still keto and measure blood ketones - keep it around 1.0-2.0.
@@cassclare nuts and seeds help me with digestion and are great for hiking since they are nutrient dense and calorie-dense, and don’t go rancid or need refrigeration, so easy to carry and easy to buy at stops along the way. Also enjoy the texture of seeds in salads and with yogurt/berries. Whatever ‘anti-nutrients’ you claim to have, the benefits outweigh the costs for me, and i feel better eating them and enjoy eating them.
Eating a diet heavy on cruciferours, vegetables, mushrooms, and legumes with a minor amount of animal protein is how people in Asia and South America live well into their hundreds with little or or no health problems. These folks that eat mostly meat won't be around beyond 70s or 80s.
@@Dirk_van_Tonder They have no idea. There are no long term studies on people eating a carnivore diet, ruminant-only especially. Not to imply that any nutritional studies are good science. A hint though - the first nations peoples of North America had tribes that thrived for at least 15,000 years eating primarily meat (in the form of bison, deer, elk, fish and small game). These humans didn't move to more "diverse" regions, nor did they die out. This doesn't even include the Inuit, but they're invoked too often. Perhaps people in the past could subsist on the diet mentioned in the comment above, but the world has since been poisoned and so too have those foods been. That doesn't mean all meat is clean either, so choose wisely... Those folks in "their hundreds", are they still sharp? Able to be active? What kind of high fibre diet made arthritis worse? It's extremely misleading to make that statement because people are definitely reversing arthritis on plant based approaches. I'm not a vegan activist but I have seen people heal with juice fasting and raw vegan diets as two examples.
A vegan diet is a starvation diet. It's exactly like fasting complete with all the short term benefits. Longterm you're staring down huge deficiencies and the major health issues that come with them including a much higher risk of stroke and Alzheimers disease. All omnivores must eat meat. It's not a choice. This is because mammals who are unable to ferment plant material in a specialised organ and enable the utilisation of cellulose for fat and to generate B12 must obtain those nutrients from animal based sources. It's very basic biology and how we are genetically coded.
While dogs have carnivorous roots and require meat for optimal health, they are best classified as omnivores due to their ability to digest and benefit from a variety of foods.
@furyofbongos when my dog was getting close to the end of his life he was having problems with his anal gland. The vet recommended pumpkin, and it really did help him for the short time he had left. I believe pumpkin as well as some other plant based foods help with some digestion issues, while some irritate the gut.
There's always issues with studies. For example high fiber diet. The source of the fiber is very important. Getting fiber from a natural non gmo orange is way different from getting fiber from wheat and oats. Since the fiber isn't isolated in these studies, confounding variables would be the sources of fiber. But of course many things get over looked when it's usually big business that funds studies to sell things. There's been plenty of manipulation of studies for profit gain. And could it be there were more nutrients in stool because the higher fiber group studied ate more nutrients, therefore had an over abundance therefore getting rid of what it doesn't need?
Diet alone unfortunately doesn't explain the rapid rise in these issues, given how long people have been eating average and processed food for. Its either the food has become more and more tainted which means its not the food itself, or there are other current environmental factors like non native EMF's, I know people who are completely hooked on modern tech and they look terrible, not aging well at all. The other issue I believe with dementia is the certain wide spread use of certain heart medications contributing to it, which I am sure we are not allowed to talk about.
@@Coach_Jose no diet alone does not explain the rapid rise of pretty much all illness and disease. It is just a convenient narrative for some people and these endlessly stupid diet cults trying to simplify complicated problems. And you have no idea what my diet is, you just assume so because I commented under this video.
I think that organic/grass fed/pasture raised/unpasteurized meat/animal fats/eggs/cholesterol etc. have definitely been wrongfully demonized by the mainstream media. I think most people would benefit if they eat more organic/grass fed/pasture raised/unpasteurized meat/eggs/animal fats than the mainstream media suggests. However that does not mean that I think most people should entirely eliminate plants/fruits/vegetables/fiber. I think people might benefit most by rotating their diet/food groups based on their unique individual needs/activity levels at the time. I think you can definitely get significant benefits from keto/carnivore but I don't think they will necessarily last forever. Benefits may eventually stagnate and go the other way. There seem to definitely be unique benefits to the other food groups as well. A rotation diet makes the most sense to me. The main points are to eat whole foods and avoid processed foods, seed oils, inflammatory agents, GMO's etc. I get a sense that some strict carnivores appear to be eating too much meat to the exclusion of other things. The healthiest looking, fittest, longest living people seem to be omnivores from what I can see. Carnivore/Keto seems to me to work best as a temporary healing diet within the rotation. The healing properties of plants/herbs are just too well established throughout all of human history.
Are people obsessed with taking giant poops? 💩 seriously I feel like people freak out if they don’t have a giant 💩. I know our systems are different than a dog and cat but the one beneficial side effect to feeding them a balanced raw meat/organ diet is smaller less stinky poop. I would think similarly human 💩 would also become smaller maybe less stinky??? I haven’t gone total carnivore but I have followed more of a Paul Saladino style diet.
You look at nature and our nearest relative the chimp and they eat a high fiber low glycemic diet with bugs and meat when they can get it. I personally think if you dont exercise at moderate intensity you are far better off with more low glycemic plants, fermented food, fish and eggs and less meat. I eat a ton of meat, fish and eggs but i see the benefit of high fiber, fish and eggs. The biggest benefit of dogs on raw animal based diet is no tooth brush and small disintegrating white poop after a few days
Our digestive system is not the same as a chimps tho. Our small intestine has far more volume than a chimps while a chimps colon and cecum has far more volume than a human. This clearly points to apes being more suited to eating plants and humans better suited to meat and fat.
What about uric acid though? I have some older men I’d like to get on carnivore … but they’re all convinced their alleged gout possibilities could be made worse by the addition of a lot of red meat.
I spent the most part of 35 years chronically ill. Three days on the carnivore diet I knew things were different. I'm almost 4 years on beef butter bacon and eggs and I will never go back. The difference in my life is staggering. I guess it's not for everybody😢
I love your channel but I am sceptical about your views on fibre. From my own experience working with an excellent dietitian/trainer, fibre is essential for digesting protein. With respect to whey protein anyway, your intestines can become stressed and inflamed trying to digest whey protein without fibre.
The dietary protocols promoted herein confer physiological benefits in the short term (for 10-15 years) at the cost of later lifespan/healthspan. It is unwise to assume that an intervention improves healthspan just because "one feels great in the beginning"..
@@ArcoZakus Biogerontologists are in agreement that healthspan (years of disease-free life) is decreased with a high-protein diet like "a carnivore diet". Check out their published works and interview them to learn more.

I try to balance and accommodate the possibility that the blood viscosity/LDL school has some merit by supplementing Niacin and doing intense cardio. Who knows? Place your bets.
Been carnivore for 7 months, I think I crave steak more today than i did at the start. The question about being bored of eating steaks doesn't match my experience at all. I find i eat less and less chicken, pork, lamb or anything really, i just crave beef.
One of my problems is that I like to grow okra and cucumbers as a hobby, but then I feel obligated to eat them and make expensive poop
I'm a carnivore but also have a garden. The only fruit/veg I personally eat is what I grow, or what I get from a local grower. That means that in northern Utah, I only have any fruit/veg sparingly, and only a few months out of the year. The rest of the year is hardcore carnivore.
My point, if there is one, eat the cucumbers if you like them. Don't be cultish like vegans, and like carnivore is becoming.
Just sell them.
🤣
I raised tomatoes, okra, cucumber and squash. I ate what I raised.
@@philliprickman1394
I’m not sure about the okra, but the others are all considered fruit, which I think is the part of the plants we’re meant to eat. I feel way better after adding fruit to my carnivore diet. Low/no carb/high fat took away my energy. Now, I can exercise again.
Dogs should generally poop daily. My dog is on raw and has one small healthy poop daily. I would be concerned about constipation, too little food, or not enough exercise to move the bowels.
Yes, dogs have a 5 hour digestive cycle- humans 8-12 if I recall.
💯 Meat based animal diet is proper human nutrition, over 200 pounds fat lost using this proper nutrition & stretching walking consistently every day, my major disabilities are still there but quality of everyday life much improved, Thanks again to Dr.Baker, Dr.Berry, Dr.Chaffee for your honest youtube video information

Great job
He looks so good

Do u feed your dogs just raw ground beef? No supplements?
…also curious about this.
I try to avoid grains, and if I do it has to be mid day not earlier or later, but I eat fruit, herbs and meats. No pork, its just too fatty, but I do love me some bacon.
What kind of knives are y’all using?
I get iron overload when I go carnivore. How do you both avoid that?
LOL, I went on Carnivore, and we started feeding our dog green beans and lean meat scraps because they can't handle the amount of fat humans can. She dropped 5-8lbs plus she has more energy at 14 than she did at 8 , she dropped weight faster than we are.

Best diet to lower triglycerides and a p little a. Will lowering these two lower blood pressure?
Mr. High intensity, do you buy your meat or harvest your own?
Keto is great for me, but not carnivore. I added frozen blueberries with greek yogurt, cheese, nuts/seeds, homemade fermented vegetables and homegrown sprouts. Now I’m running on all cylinders. Still keto and measure blood ketones - keep it around 1.0-2.0.
Why nuts and seeds though?
They have anti nutrients
Oh really? What is it about meat that would shorten lifespan. Do elaborate
I gained back my body eating only ruminant meat, I'd rather die in my mid 70s still able to climb mountains than live to 100 lost in the miasma of memory loss and/or unable to leave the building that confines me.

There’s been studies as well that show long-term diets, that aren’t flexible, numb the microbiome too. I’ve always cycled. Keto, Ketovore, carnivore … but I’ve never been on the same diet for years and years and years. It’s fascinating to me that some people have only eaten meat for 10+ years 👀
I wonder what Mike Cola would have to say? He’s not anti protein, but always recommends to his clients to focus on protein and fiber. I’m an inclined to believe b:c he’s always teaching clients how to lose weight. Period. Interesting stuff.

For constipation do a 10 or 14 day raw milk cleanse either goats , cows. You can also do it with full fat sheep's greek yoghurt, just eating for 10 days nothing but that, you can have one cup of coffee or tea in the morning. Google up the raw milk cleanse diet Dr Porter.
A study was mentioned that says that increased fiber intake made RA worse. Can you post a link to that study? Everything I find says the opposite.

That's been debunked for awhile.
In all 50 states! Wonderful!
Dogs are carnivores. I believe meat is healthy for people, but so are lower carb fruits and vegetables. They contain lots of nutrients.
I eat a decent amount of fruit, but the added nutrients are negligible.
@@MB19ap yes, my son’s dog, also, has benefited from pumpkin.

Confirmation bias all over with every guy following any diet
For real, people successfully commit to a diet for the first time and are amazed they feel healthy....
Cool stuff. I'd really love to read the study about fiber increasing the amount of nutrients lost in feces. Is there a link/doi?
There's always issues with studies.
For example high fiber diet. The source of the fiber is very important. Getting fiber from a natural non gmo orange is way different from getting fiber from wheat and oats. Since the fiber isn't isolated in these studies, confounding variables would be the sources of fiber. But of course many things get over looked when it's usually big business that funds studies to sell things. There's been plenty of manipulation of studies for profit gain.
And could it be there were more nutrients in stool because the higher fiber group studied ate more nutrients, therefore had an over abundance therefore getting rid of what it doesn't need?
Of course he cut his seared flesh with the Rambo knife.
It is diet. You are just eating the wrong one. We are Frugivores.
@@Coach_Jose no diet alone does not explain the rapid rise of pretty much all illness and disease. It is just a convenient narrative for some people and these endlessly stupid diet cults trying to simplify complicated problems. And you have no idea what my diet is, you just assume so because I commented under this video.
Damn boys, now I'm hungry. I just want a big ass steak!
7:18 Now you know why they don't want you eating it.

If you dont exercise you need to lay off the fatty foods.

I wanted to watch this, but I just don't like listening people talk into microphones while they eat.
Boohoo
We feed our dog carnivore fruit and fiber.
The issue I see is C. Diff, I have to take fiber pills to keep it at bay.
