Progressive contrast with the audience reaction at our 1970 Fondation Maeght concerts and encores for the final Albert Ayler victory. Filmed but never released in US. But the complete audio boxset is now out: “Revelations” on Elemental 5-LP (sold out) and 4-CD w 100 page booklet& still available Amazon etc. Albert Ayler Mary Maria Parks Call Cobbs Allen Blairman Steve Tintweiss (I’m the last surviving band member)
I understand the Swedish TV recorded a full concert during that same 1966 tour in Europe, but I never found it. However some footage, also unbelievable, is included in the "My Name Is Albert Ayler" documentary
@@JorgeLasHeras-js7uf I have been trying for years to obtain DVD copies of My Name Is Albert Ayler as well as Sunny Murray's Sunny's Time Now both long unavailable or unplayable in the US format.
@@theofficialdrumcovers I found his site and it looks like he has copies available, since I collect Sunny's discography, this is a must have. I wouldn't have known if you didn't tip me off, thanks bro.
ありがとう! 50年待ちました。あと10年待つからピーコック-マレイのトリオビデオよろしく! Thanks for posting this. I've waited 50 long years. And I'll wait 10 more years for the footage of trio with Peacock-Murray!
HOLY GRAIL!!! I'm starting to believe the claims of footage being destroyed is total BS. BBC perhaps, but continental European broadcasters if they were hip enough to film American jazz groups on their stage, they'd sure retain them, even if the audience couldn't understand the music. The reaction is certainly mixed here. Was the racist lens so powerful that they considered this challenging music so wild as to be primitive and out of control? Hardly. Look at these guys, and Tony Williams Lifetime. These guys are disciplined professionals, high caliber musicians. Best thing I picked up on this video is the technique of Beaver Harris,
I didn't know there was existing footage of Ayler at work; thanks!

This audience seems a little disturbed and divided. (btw...Great work with Patty Waters and others!)
were you the violinist?
No. That was Michel Sampson.
I played bass on the 1970 Maeght recordings referenced as a full audience contrast to mark Ayler’s eventual triumph.
Wow! Thanks for sharing!
Wow, what a rarity, I've never seen any footage of this Ayler band before, unbelievable!
