For the people who suffered great traumas in the past the "thing to do" that is not a waste of time (but that feels like so) is to piece themselves together. It will feel like you're doing nothing, but in fact you either do that or, sooner or later, you'll break down.
@@jenniferschmitzer299 Yes. The sad thing about reality is that you can focus on yourself just if you have some sustainment, be it you yourself working, family, a charity or something (depending on your situation) so just some can do such thing. To "repair yourself" you first detach from the thing that causes trauma, then you spend some time to relax and then you have to introspect and/or get therapy. Skip the last part and the trauma will never be less powerful in your life.

@@jenniferschmitzer299 ruclips.net/video/kf3Err9MvDg/видео.html In short: if you don't know yourself you have to walk forwards, be it literally and/or figuratively. I've no idea what you were talking about your childhood or even if you meant something over 9 years old as being a kid, but one thing is constant among humans: if you want to grow you need to experience different things (absolutely not endorsing drugs here). Doesn't matter what state you are in, if doing something that creates something else makes you happy that may be a part of "you". I think you're a woman from the way that you addressed yourself, so hear me out: if you want to have a traditional-style life you can, but just if that would make you happy. I've been depressed since I was 11 and lost my faith too, but since since a young person has so much time ahead of itself and still doesn't and can't know enough about the world I just kept on going and just now, ten years later, I am finally able to take a breather. What I'm getting at is tl;dr yes, you still have a lot of life ahead of yourself, so don't do anything unreversable until you're completely sure that that's what you want. I don't have a script with me so I'm gonna close it with this: if you didn't have time to grow then you have to postpone it, but it'll never be as if the past never happened. A stunned plant can still be beautiful, even if smaller (this meaning that you're not less of a person, but that a traumatic past leaves scars, always, and we've to live with them). If you want more help don't ask strangers on the internet, more even on a public platform. Seek help, professional one, if you need to. Jordies misses the ball when it comes to proper depression so don't feel like a failure if "JuSt SmIlE mOrE!" doesn't work; keep yourself physically active, even in a gym, to keep a good body, because the vicious cycle of "having a bad body/being ill and unable to act normally" which fuels depression and depression that makes you "neglect your body/become ill" is a nasty one, basically impossible to escape from alone. Keep active, make yourself a temple, live, find people with which you can make true connections and then you will be able to truly be happy. Houses ain't build in a week and anyone who promises you to build a Tower of Babel just wants to harm you. Have good times.

That habit you're suggesting I form is exactly why I am in therapy. I'm not sure it's something you should aim to hone - asking yourself what you should be doing all the time often leads to you feeling fucking miserable and anxious. But that's just my 2 cents. Also They Live isn't a masterpiece but it's not crap. :)
I set goals, worked hard to achieve them, and got there. I then felt deeply, deeply unsatisfied. Achieving my goals did not give me anywhere near the amount of satisfaction I thought it would. Thoughts?

Hey Jordie can you make a video summating Eckhart Tolle's main points from his books, as I have read The Power of Now but it was at times difficult to distil the relevant ideas and lessons from the jargon.

So many people patting themselves on the back for recognising they waste time and rewarding themselves for the hefty effort of recognising it with more chilling and time-wasting 🙃
I think the only time it is okay to waste time is when you're in high school. Outside of basic study, school and a job, there's not really a whole lot you can do in comparison to the rest of your life, of which you can majorly change your predicament or improve yourself massively. Not saying that you shouldn't, as there are many great skills you should learn at this time of your life such as fundamental social skills with the same and opposite gender as well as what you're going to do with yourself after high school. Beyond that, there's not a lot that needs to be done or can be done, outside of a part time job, studying and school work.
