For those who want to restore old guns: Step One, Clean the damn thing and clean it mercilessly inside and out so you can see if it’s got cracks that could lead to a very painful failure. Some oil at this point would be good.
Buddy, when your gun is so bad of a shape that you have trouble chambering, and things don't work as they should.......it's time to step back and think of what you are doing.......it's a firearm, respect the risks, or they will bite ya in the face.
