Recreating Pearl Jam Live Tones! | Crazy Tube Circuits Unobtanium Pedal Demo

- In this pedal demo I see how close I can get to nailing the first 10 tones from a random Pearl Jam live show (Oakland 2022-05-13 - • Pearl Jam - 2022-05-13... ) to showcase the range of tones you can get from the Crazy Tube Circuits "Unobtanium" pedal. It basically has a Klon on one side and two Dumble amps on the other, pretty rad! Enjoy!
Riffs played;
Long Road
Given to Fly
Once
Interstellar Overdrive
Corduroy
Throw Your Hatred Down
Quick Escape
Dissident

As a massive Pearl Jam fan, I'm grateful for the insight into the tones and what Mike and Stone are playing, so this is gold. Thank you as always, and you make it all look so easy too! 🥲
You're welcome Neil, 5 years pretending to be Stone in a PJ tribute band helps with these demos tbh haha but this pedal is seriously impressive, hard to find a bad tone and Pete Thorn is currently touring with it on his board so that will tell you something ;-)
Amazing!!!! Massive PJ fan, you play their stuff perfectly - and I just bought this pedal. Tx. For doing this. Please do more!
@@joetoe9207 welcome mate and enjoy the pedal. It’s a cracker!
@@LetsPlayAll Thanks! I found your Nirvana one. Also great. I don’t know if you did the Foos (I’m a 90s guy). Great playing!
@@joetoe9207 yea lots of foos too, check out my playlists 🤘
Awesome job man!
Thanks Jason! 🤘😊
Just bought this pedal, what an awesome pedal !!!
enjoy mate, it's a superb thing!! amazing tones galore!
Wow. Sounds absolutely amazing. Thanks for the brilliant run through (looks at wallet...wallet looks nervous...) 😄
😂 cheers mate glad you enjoyed the vid!
As always, this is great! You always nail the riffs and tone.I was actually at this show. Amazing.
oh wow that's very cool! setlist looked rad for this one and thanks for the kind words!
I'm starting playing guitar and when I watch your videos I think you are doing magic. 😉
Haha thanks Oscar, I assure you it’s all achievable! 😀🤘
Nice work🤟
Thank!
Wow! That’s a great sounding pedal. What amp did you say you are playing through? A Morgan? That’s not what I expected from Dumble style tones. Really impressive. And my god you gave the tones and parts NAILED. Fantastic channel mate.
Thanks mate! Morgan MVP66 - banging amp and takes pedals really well. When i got sent it I thought I'd probably do a John Mayer style vid but nope, it totally nails the PJ live tones! Amazing pedal, really loving it!
@@LetsPlayAll ah OK. It’s a KT66 JTM45 flavor right. Sounds class. I’m looking for a dual drive pedal. This could be a serious contender. That’s not how I thought it would sound at all. Thx for the reply. Appreciate it
@@kampalaband thanks mate, it's a banging pedal, wealth of tones in it!
Love it brother!
Thanks mate!
Been using this combo for years for some solo tones. I use my Centaur (#3913) & a J Rocket Dude, into either a 1x12 Princeton or Dr Z Maz 18. Great fat, chunky sounds, exactly what you’re getting here. Excellent playing as well!
nice set up mate and thanks for the kind words!
Awesome 🔥🔥
Thanks bud!
Brilliant as always. i love the way your ear is very close to the things you try to sound alike and that helps you to mimic these tones. also i must say i just luv your telecaster guitars!
say in given to fly , what guitar do you use? also in the neil young song what type of guitar is that?
keep up the good work!
Thanks Yaron, much appreciated mate! GTF is a Karl Longbottom "Fulvia", Neil Young one is a custom build i picked up second hand by a UK luthier called Dave Walsh (Eternal Guitars), the Tele is a Seth Baccus Shoreline T :-)
@@LetsPlayAll amazing guitars!
@@yaronnir thanks mate! All great tools 🤘😀
I'd be up for a video of a combo amp and a guitar and to see what you can nail out, so the kids can see what we had back in the day.
I did a vid with the boss katana combo a while back but that has a tonne of effects in it. These days there’s so much amazing gear available to new players but personally speaking even back in the day I always had at least a couple of effects 😊🤘
Super mate! I'm a better player because of you, and I'm no slouch in the tone department either!
Ah thanks so much for the kind words mate, glad you’re enjoying the vids too!
SPOT ON, MATE!!!
Thanks buddy!
Got the 1991 pedal now have to save up for this.
Haha nice, solid goals! 🤘😀
Sensacional 🤘👏👏👏 , por enquanto estou tirando o melhor do meu Amplificador, difícil à introdução de pedais, no Brasil sempre muito alto custo de equipamentos😀
In recent times I’ve noticed what seems like some sort of compression on Stone’s live tone, it’s distorted but it’s tight sounding.
I think he does have a compressor on his board but i've no idea on the use case for that :-)
Was wondering if you could do a lesson on Floyd the barber, love your videos
For sure will do them all eventually mate! Patreon best bet if your in a rush for it 🤘😊
Does Mike McCready use a dumble amplifier or klon pedal?
neither, but the Klon is a similar tone profile to a TubeScreamer which he's always used to boost his amp, and I found the Dumble side of this pedal got close to his live tone. SRV famously used a Dumble amp and Mike's tone/style has a lot of SRV influence so not too suprising this pedal get's close to both live tones (imo anyways!) :-)
U should do tabs for given to fly
Already have a lesson for this with tabs mate 👍
Meanwhile every player that now has players chasing their tone.....never chased a tone they just got what they liked and made the music they wanted to. The tone chase is a false money maker for the industry. Its all in the player you are!
I highly recommend anyone to just fuck around with any settings you have on your amp or whatever you use and see what you can come up with that you really like. It's really fun to see what you can get from one amp.
Sure, some players were the trailblazers that didn’t have any point of reference but not many in the past 30 years (Mike is known for his SRV influence both in style and tone), and I’ve always loved trying to dial in my fave tones. Each to their own tho!
@@NHR_Music for sure I’d absolutely recommend wringing all the tones you can out of what you already have 🤘
@@LetsPlayAll My comment wasn't directed at you rather than our society as a whole nowadays although I caught your video at that moment...not a thing wrong with what you do, I love your channel.
@@SIXX2772 thanks mate and no worries at all! I’m always happy if any vid sparks a convo 😀🤘
I am a tone chaser and 90% of guitar players are, If I wasn't I wouldn't have a strat, les Paul, telecaster, Ibanez, classical and a acoustic. Though I do get really tired of seeing overpriced boutique effects and amps along with computer programs. It kinda falls in to the auto tune category. But throughout history even the greats were tone chasing.
Your going to make me spend more money
Don't do it! Well, unless you absolutely have to ;-) For what it's worth, I don't ever demo pedals I wouldn't use myself but this one is ridiculously good. It's a personal fave for sure!
@@LetsPlayAll if I bought every one you demoed 🤑I’d have already more than I need , or is that a ridiculous statement. I just may have to pick this one up. I enjoy your lesson and demos. I’ll have to check into your patreon🤙🏼
By the way if ever you chose to let go of that one because you just don’t need it.
I’m sure I can make space for it..🤣🤣Keep up the enjoyable work
@@GatorUp haha thanks mate but I can see this being a mainstay in the collection for a long while! Got a demo coming up for their Crossfire soon too, that’s another awesome one! 😀🤘
@@GatorUp thanks mate pls do! You don’t need all these pedals haha, as long as you’re having fun that’s the main thing! But I do really enjoy the demo work and that (and the Patreon support) really helps keep the lessons free on here which I’ve always wanted to keep doing so it’s all good!
