7:16 〆 is a proper japanese character. It is read as しめ. It is an old character but it checks out. You can still see the character used in many places in japan in 2023.
i’ve always wondered whats with all the weird subtitles? finna boutta play paranoia (for extreme) (radio edit) ~dirty mix~ ANOTHER (from nonstop megamix)
And today we have bibibibibibibibibibbibibibibibibibibibibibibibibibibibibibbibibibibibibibibibibibibibibibibibibibibibibibibibibibbibibibibibibibibibibibibibibibibibibibibibibibibibibibibibbiibbi
IT'S THE BUS STOP B*TCH SONG! Fun fact: the "DON'T DO THAT, DO THIS" soundbite is a reference to a different ska song that found its way into a DDR game - "One Step Beyond" by Madness. It made its first appearance in the home console release Dancing Stage Fever for PAL regions. The full song starts with the singer commanding the listener "HEY YOU; DON'T WATCH THAT, WATCH THIS! THIS IS THE HEAVY, HEAVY MONSTER SOUND! THE NUTTIEST SOUND AROUND! SO IF YOU'RE COMING OFF THE STREET, AND BEGINNING TO FEEL THE HEAT; LISTEN, BUSTER - YOU'D BETTER START TO MOVE YOUR FEET TO THE RAGGEDEST ROCKSTEADY BEAT OF MADNESS!" However, that intro doesn't appear in the shortened version present in the DDR version
About IX While I don't know what the lyrics are (as they seem to be nowhere to be found from what I can tell) the name IX does hold some significance. It references there being nine innings in baseball. IX was released during the Nettou! BEMANI Stadium event, which held many references to baseball. Also, take a close look at the jacket. They're in baseball uniforms. And I imagine the lyrics are about baseball as well.
One title I like is "19, November" by good-cool. It was given that name because the artist was tired of always seeing dj nagureo's "20, November" at the top of the song list all the time.
I've never seen any DDR content like this before and it's soo good! Only other youtube channel I've ever seen with this kind of style might be Cybershell, so it's definitely very far in between on this platform
And here I am, wondering what the hell D2R is short for. Also, correction: the kanji for “three” can be read as “mi”, but only in the context of words like “三つ” (mittsu). Similarly, the katakana for the syllable “mi” resembles “three” eerily so: “ミ”. Also, Zephyranthes is a genus of flower. Sciency and pretentious, true, but Tag has an entire series of songs named after flowers, starting with… well, Flower. So given that it’s part of a series with thematic names, I think it flies. CORRECTION CORRECTION: The Flower series of songs belongs not to Tag, but to *Yoshitaka*.
6:14 nah bc that song has way too much going on in the title and banner. The paragraph of a song title already was enough but then they added all these symbols. Like there comes a point where enough is enough
There are a bunch of odd ones in IIDX, I could be here all day, but I'll just mention something even worse which is songs with BS knaji usage and readings. Like 天空脳番長危機十六連打 where "天空脳" is suppose to be read like Techno. Or maybe 二人ノ廃城幽踊宴 where no one really knows the actual meaning of "幽踊宴". Or 閠槞彁の願い where "閠槞彁" are "ghost characters" accidentaly included in JIS without any real meaning. At least it isn't as bad as 7★7★7★ in Pop'n music which uses a unique glyph that was made specifically for it.
Hmm... Here's one I believe to top it off..... Captain Jack has a song titled Little Boy (Boy On Boy Mix) It was supposed to be Boy Oh Boy Mix, but due to a typo, that's what came out....... Also, Highs off U by Scorrpio on DDR Extreme US has the word Fuck uncensored, and the Game got an E for Everyone rating by the ESRB.
Not only was (Boy On Boy Mix) in DDRMAX2, but the typo survived into the Japanese home version AND the next arcade release, DDR Extreme. If Konami is good for one thing, it's title consistency. If a song is capitalized in one mix, it'll be capitalized in all the mixes that follow, and the capitalization in the banners and background images almost always match. Exceptions include some of the 2nd Mix songs that received more descriptive titles in X3 vs 2nd Mix, and the original game's BUTTERFLY, whose banner is written in all lowercase.
I refuse to accept the fact that it is "nine" and not IX. Also, I do recall Little Bitch being in the song category. There is an arcade in Eau Claire, Wisconsin that had a DDR Extreme machine, but unfortunately they got rid of it. But I know for a fact that Little Bitch was in the game.
Arrabbiata is the name of a spicy pasta Indeed😂 but it happen because the word itself is the female declination of the verb rabbia (anger), so the pasta (in italian pasta is a female word) is angry and so it's spicy😂😂😂 Also being italian native speaker, please let's talk about "Lisa Riccia", it literally mean "Lisa Curly"😂 And well "Alla turca con passione" who yes it's the name of a classical piece with a notification used for musical sheets, but in italian it can also being understand in a far and hilarious way😅
I really like the concept of these videos! But may I suggest you improve your mic? You sound muffled and sometimes the music overpowers what you’re saying
One of my favorite DDR songs that would easily fit in the 3rd part about special characters would have to be Aether from DDR (2014) Oh I'm sorry, it isn't Aether...it's ÆTHER Still a banger song either way
One time I was listening to the DDR nonstop megamixes and I was devastated when they got to ONE TWO (LITTLE BITCH) and did NOT include the, "Hey you! Don't do that! Do THIS! It's the Bus Stop bitch song!" If you don't include that have you really even included ONE TWO (LITTLE BITCH) at all
So on *some* surface little bitch makes sense. People dance to Ska, Ska was popular at the time, so ok lets get some Ska. But WHY LITTLE BITCH OF ALL SONGS? That wasn't even their most popular song! Was it a hit in Japan? Do Japanese Rudeboys call themselves Little Bitches? What are we missing here?
For the first few years, DDR got most of their Japanese-market licenses through a product placement deal with Dancemania. That's why a lot of early DDR games sort of have themes going on with their licenses - 3rd Mix with its speed remixes, Extreme with its sports-related songs, and so on. They were just choosing songs from the most recent Dancemania albums.
this video is so hilarious
God this dude is hilarious though
Brain Power Camellia Remix when
Never expected to see Camellia here lol
um... whatcha doin here
I LOVE CAMELLIA
One of the most overkill songs names is
お米の美味しい炊き方、そしてお米を食べることによるその効果。which translates to "How to make delicious rice, and the effect of eating rice."
my mans didnt even talk about ZETA ~The World of Prime Numbers and the Transcendental Being~
Good. That song is a BOP
yeah the song kinda makes up for its shitty name by being a good song
I prefer the full version because the song sounds better in the full version than the short version. If you disagree, I respect that.
Zenius I vanisher
0:47
Jam & Marmalade is a certified bop with an ICONIC name and nothing you say will convince me otherwise.
For real. Such a classic beatmania track
5:47 Hachi = Eight
Yaso = Eighty
Ba = also eight (a variation of Hachi)
so roughly this means "eight eighty-eight".
7:16 〆 is a proper japanese character. It is read as しめ. It is an old character but it checks out. You can still see the character used in many places in japan in 2023.
3:40 that joke landed perfectly, it had me laughing for a bit

>a bunch of symbols and accents
>casually throws a French title in
Surprised Little boy (boy on boy mix) wasnt on here
The very ending of this video always kills me, no matter how many times I watch it 😂😂😂
When I realize I'm doing something stupid, sometimes "Don't do that, do this" plays in my head.
IT'S THE BUS STOP B*TCH SONG!

One of my favorites has to be HAPPY☆LUCKY☆YEAPPY
That bit about .59 being "tengoku" blew my mind, that was awesome

I'm learning so much rn
I knew all these, and yes I'm flexing

I was like... whats your problem with Monkey Business?
Good. There is none.
The Legend of MAX is probably making an homage to ZZ Top. XP
9:33 You don't mess with A Stupid Barber. He'll send his turbo dancing robot after you!
"The legend of quadratic formula" goes unbelievably hard
8:27 I actually wouldnt mind a "Love S Shine" or a "Legend of Cuadratic Equation"
probably my fav vid on ddr ever made lmaooo
7:16 it means Shime or End mark IIRC (btw, that song is a real banger)
I've never seen any DDR content like this before and it's soo good! Only other youtube channel I've ever seen with this kind of style might be Cybershell, so it's definitely very far in between on this platform
Monkey Business is the Knack 2 of DDR.
Ah yes my favorite song, legend of quadratic formula
And here I am, wondering what the hell D2R is short for.

You oguhta make a sequel: Bemani artist aliases and IIDX genre names
Your style of comedy reminds me of Videogamedunkey a little bit, and that brings me boundless joy
4:18 nice edit
Also, IX is a BANGER
6:14 nah bc that song has way too much going on in the title and banner. The paragraph of a song title already was enough but then they added all these symbols. Like there comes a point where enough is enough
This is an amazing channel. Waiting on you to blow up
This is both a hilarious and informative take on DDR history
Can't wait until we get a song just called something like "the" or "song"
IT'S THE BUS STOP BITCH SONG!!!!
Finally someone makes a statement about that Little B song. Confused me as a child
This right here is Japanese game design at its core. You'll never see crazy names like that in Western games and THAT'S WONDERFUL hahahaha
The Specials are in cuz Japan loves their ska my dude
6:44 The Nine Buttons Represent A Pop'n Music Cabinet's Buttons, Another Konami Game
How to read it? Xd
Pop’n Music DDR
i love this

I actually love chocolate philosophy even those the name doesn't make any sense at least the song is good.
3:47 link to this mashup
6:56
you: they made this symbol just for DDR EXTREME
me: may I present you with a Mobile Suit Double Zeta Gundam
I think one of the nonsensical ones I can think of is "A" "AA" and "AAA" which I think all of them are composed by the same guy
It gets a pass because they’re bangers
oh wait until you hear about the artists
Sexy Planet has a reason to be called like that ',:^]
9:30 DDR names are tame.
Try London Affairs Beckoned With Money Loved By Yellow Papers
inb4 i make a ddr song called

I’m guessing Little Bitch was in Dancemania Summers due to them thinking Ska=Summertime?
I’ve always wonder how the hell japanese people are supposed to know how to pronounce some rhythm game song names
✨Furigana✨
3:24 What am I seeing in the upper left o.o
What about Pluto Relinquish? That's a pretty good title, in my opinion.
you have Dunkey energy

what's the song in the outro?
Love is Orange
Like orange is the new black. Or retarded is the new white.
was about to say 1116 but it's from jubeat
Syuun says the number is a reference of the deadline for Give the song

Okay, I’m just gonna ask about it:
Where the hell is “Okome no oishii takikata, soshite okome wo taberu koto ni yoru sono kouka”?
One of my favorite DDR songs that would easily fit in the 3rd part about special characters would have to be Aether from DDR (2014)

Jesus, those are the most incorrect lyrics for Little Bitch I've ever seen.
So on *some* surface little bitch makes sense. People dance to Ska, Ska was popular at the time, so ok lets get some Ska.

Was the song little bitch actually in Super Mario Sunshine?
“they're just EXPERIMENTING”
