    One of the most important factors for me when choosing a base location is its proximity to cave exits. The cave system is incredible.

      WTF 1: Cave system? WTF you talking about? I've seen the icons but my only experience with them is killing a boss and finding the exit to the cave he was in was marked on the map, which seems really stupid considering that, from my perspective, it's marking nothing more than the exit to a boss room.
      WTF 2: DDG has suddenly stopped working. Regardless of what I search for it tells me there's a problem displaying the results and to try again, so I literally cannot find the answer myself.

      @@sokar_rostau
      WTF 1:
      On the expanses of the game map there are several marked caves, which are divided into entrances and exits. It is very easy to understand the difference - the exits are located in such a way that it is impossible to get to them (hills with canopies blocking any access), and the entrances are completely free and do not in any way interfere with interaction. This is an instant fast travel that is not blocked by the presence of resources in the inventory.
      Moreover, all entrances are located in distant locations (Gloomrot, Silver Hills, Cursed Forest), and exits are concentrated in the Farbane Forest and Danli.
      Most likely you are talking about the boss bear, and for the first time I also thought that this was a mark for the exit from his cave, but this is not so. The exit from the boss is not marked in any way, it is just literally 3 meters from the exit from the cave, the entrance to which is located in the Silver Hills.
      WTF 2: I have no idea what you're talking about, I don't understand what DDG means...

      @@YARSCORPG DDG is DuckDuckGo search engine. It's literally just Google for people who are paranoid about their data being shared, despite it being a compromised search engine, lol.

    • @Senscrall
      @Senscrall 23 дня назад

      @@sokar_rostau I believe there are five cave entrances that connect to five exits, though it might be six. I recall one being removed or altered in the cursed forest after an update, but I could be mistaken. Regardless, it's an excellent fast travel system since you can take all your items with you without restrictions. However, it’s one-way, so it's mainly used for returning to your base. For instance, there's a cave in Silverlight Hills that exits far to the east of Farbane Woods.

  • @YARSCORPG
    @YARSCORPG 26 дней назад +46

    The beauty of the plots in the Cursed Forest and Gloomrot lies not in the ease of use, but in the atmosphere of the environment.
    If you are guided only by logic, setting up a base somewhere outside of Danli is a completely crazy idea. There is one exception - the left part of the Farbein forest - since there are exits from three caves at once, which makes the player incredibly mobile.
    But if your focus is not on speedrun, but on a relaxed, meditative game, if you spend most of your game time collecting resources and designing a magnificent castle, then a gloomy location covered in thick fog or an area with an incessant thunderstorm, where lightning strikes from the sky regularly set fire to vegetation and can even kill you...
    can become extremely tempting for moving.

    On the server that I play on I’m in southwest Silverlight, the closest plot to the Brighthaven Dock. While it’s probably not gushed over the most because it’s not the largest plot, it is the easiest to get to, without getting shot at. There’s a little path over a stream and voila! you’re there. It’s close to the vineyards for grapes and making merlot or getting seeds to make your own vineyard. Once you’re higher level 80s-90s it’s nice to be close to the dock for night fishing and gold harvesting, while looking for those 90+ or 100 bloods for your prison. It also has its own pond as well.

    Ok so, if your playing on PVE server, there is two things to consider, one is the plot size and distribution, and the other one is location, you need to be central, or maybe near a good cave, but overall it doesnt matter.
    On a NO Raid PVP server, you need to consider proximity with Mortium, because of shards runbacks, so now Cursed forest become very interesting, also the east side of dunley, and places in silverlight close to the cave of Cursed Forest.
    On a Full PVP server, you need to consider the things i mentioned before, but also choosing a good defensive plot, which is a plot with only one entrance, and with good distance between the entrance and the castle heart, the best ones are the double layered ones.

    I think north gloom rot looks better than south gloom rot, but there is benefit in living there. From a PvP stand point both are much like silverlight in that they have enemies everywhere. The norths roaming machines and constant lightning and the souths large patrols and mutant ambushes can lend to defense and act as a deterrent to potential raiders. Your also right next to both power stations and most massive metal deposits. Glass, copper, sulfur, iron, tech scrap, radium alloy and depending on what side of gloom rot your on the silver mine is not far either. As for PvE Im sure Gloom rot can be a decent back drop for a moody castle. Especially with the right colors on the walls and lights.

    The dunley one in the top left is actually the best location in the game. Easy access to silverlight, gloomrot, the cursed forest has a cave drop off that is location to the far right of the forest near mortium as well which drops you off in front of the base.

    I build my castle above where the iron mine is which has more enough room to get your prisoners and garden and such in I personal opinion.
    And it's pretty centralised in the map so it doesn't take much time to go around and do your v blood hunts which is a plus for me.

    But I have 1 main and 4 smaller castles ATM, just to make traveling easier .. when not able to use wing power.
    All good and an interest video.
    edit .. If you wish, I could drop a screenshot of my castle location for you.

    Id like to point out that Im using a space you didnt cover, the one directly south of brighthaven, its technically tiered, though the bottom part at ground level is quite small, the upper main section is pretty big, and theres enough space to allow for a mostly symmetrical castle, what I like about it in particular is that it has its own stream for fishing, is a 5 second flight the brighthaven AND is very close to a large source of grapes for large quantities of blood merlot, since brighthaven is so close, particularly the docks, you have easy access to large quantities of fish, also lets not forget that brighthaven itself usually has higher quality blood carriers, brute, warrior, rogue, even scholar, theres also plenty of workers around too!
    While the plot featured up north is also pretty close, the south side is closer to the vineyards, merchants and dock, but relies on bat form for easier access, having bat form wont make travelling difficult from any base really, but 5 seconds is doable, even during the day!

    My personal favourite in Gloomrot is the spot just to the right of Adam's place. it's a double plot, but the left one has a humongous southern area to work with, and then the raised top bit is perfect for a personal stronghold. Then therse a bridge connecting you to your neighbour (or your secondary fort if you are playing on a private server) which in itself can function much like a bailey of sorts. There's also the added interesting factor of a Gloomrot patrol moving through that exact area so you have a simulated semi-raid by an NPC faction whenever they show up. Somethin i'd with the devs would/could add in a proper way. ..that and being able to put in a bridge of your own rather than that decrepit looking thing you'll be stuck with. Overall, favourite spot. c:

    You can start a new, single player game with level 90 starting equipment, which would help you show off raw places to build castles, without any pre-builds on them. Other than that, a useful guide, thank you!
