I loved how Kirk said he assumed they all rehearsed this until he also started singing. Like it was a team building exercise or just a huge practical joke his brother orchestrated.

So what can I say about episode 9.
Uhora, girl can sing. Sing it girl, sing it. Chaple, La'an and Spock also brought it. I sympathize with La'an and Spock. I ain't mad at La'an, Kirk is handsome. And poor Spock, now he has to live with all those pety human emotions, after having his Vulcan heart stomped on. Leave it to the klingons thinking singing their emotions is dishonorable. 😂😅😅 loved this episode.
Cecilia Rose Gooding is actually one of the few people on this cast who was on Broadway and got a Tony for it
Klingons sing operatic war songs all the time, so I don't get why they would think it's dishonorable. It was funny for us the audience, but in their 23rd century universe, it's weird they would start singing like a late 20th century/early 21st century Earth boy band.
@@John-ct9zs - It's unlikely that the Klingons were upset to be singing. Singing it beautiful. It was more likely that they were enraged to not be able to NOT sing what was in their hearts (there's a lot of subterfuge in the Klingon Empire), and then, to add insult to injury, the style of music randomly chosen for them must have been a real slap to the face.
OMG this was freaking fantastic. I usually find stuff like this dorky, but they did it masterfully. I couldn’t get the smile off my face! 👍🏻

I liked the Buffy musical episode! Indeed when I heard of this I immediately thought of that Buffy episode. "Once more with feeling. " Glad to know I wasn't the only one!

Because, while I still hate musicals... What the other video did not say was that the singing was caused by some kind of anomaly/quantum situation/weird effect in space...

Wait isn't M'Benga supposed on a severe court martial?
We saw the preliminary inquiry in the last episode - he was cleared. Pike said the official followup investigation will likely clear him as well because all the evidence supports M'benga self defense explanation with the implication the Federation wants to bury the fact their poster boy for reconciliation was a horrible war criminal.
Keep in mind everyone thinks Rah brought the knife with him to sickbay - the butcher had the knife and Rah convinced everyone he was the butcher - and bringing a knife puts the onus on Rah. Plus a witness corroborated M'benga's side.

ST: SNW definitely knows what a good ST show should be. Discovery and Picard are cringeworthy examples of how not to do ST.

What an absolute joke this show is...
The cast in the briefing room, to me anyway, isn't selling they believe any of this. There's an old show, concurrent with 60s Trek, called Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, and they had Lobster Men and guys in plant suits running around, yet the leads always took it seriously. But I'm not a fan of musicals, anyhow.
I really want to lose my mind on you people with the flowery, effusive praise of this strewn garbage you call a star trek episode.

This episode was unbearably cringey. It was entertaining, but I had to force myself to sit through the singing.
Agree 100%. Cringe level off the scale. Very difficut to sit through. Based on comments, I/we seem to be in the minority, because everyone seems to love SNW and this episode (and the many previous cringe episodes).
@@Oem75 I'm really starting to lose faith in the writers. For two seasons now, the plot goes off the rails starting with episode six. I was willing to give them a pass on the animated crossover for episode seven because I love occasional satire. However, episodes eight and nine have been disasters especially where klingons are concerned. Just when I thought they might start scripting canonical klingons again, the writers drop an Uno reverse.

Really? You do realize that there are many upon many episodes which deviate from the norm and jump into whimsy in all of Trek. The fact you are unaware or purposely ignorant of it shows you never understood Trek or aware of anything about it in a substantive way. The only criticism one can have of the episode is that it may have been to soon to try it.
@@eddiek8179 first, I would put my knowledge of star trek cannon up against anyone's. I said nothing about the lower decks whimsy. That was a whimsical tale typical of the occasional throw away show that adds nothing to the storyline. I get it, can't be heavy all the time. The musical episode was in no way meant for the trekers that pay for Paramount + and only watch trek. It's an attempt to widen the customer base.
