Awesome video man my gen 2 19 is 30 years old all the internals are new the frame slide and barrel are as they were when they left the factory. Complete stock man runs great and is my EDC
Bought my Gen 2 Glock 19 NIB back in 1994, and it still looks brand new. I've fired approx 2,000 rounds through it. The only replacement was a new recoil spring "just because." Everything else is OEM. Still shoot a 2" group at 15 yards with the original plastic sights.
I agree with both of you gen2 is my fave itf gen 3 would have just had the rail and that be the only change then it would have been the perfect Glock to me not the perfect pistol but the perfect Glock for sure
I just bought one. Called Glock and they dated it December 88. Took it apart to see if it had the original parts or the replaced parts and found the factory lube still on the slide.
*cracks open Monster™ energy drink* Yup. They don't make 'em like they used to. Bought my gen 2 g17 for $350. Previous owner stippled it and shoots accurate as can be. I'm only 3 years older than that baby.
Turned 21 in 95. Got my concealed & walked straight into the gun shop. Bought the 19 & a galco Miami holster, ammo. Put the holster on under my jacket. Loaded the clips , slammed a clip in & walked out completely legal & strapped. I still have it & never jammed on me. Of course I paid for everything. In Oregon in 95’ with a conceal you could buy anything & wall out loaded. (Can’t be a fool of course). But yeah I still got it & no scratches. Very little use. It was only the 10 round mags however. Why would you need anything else, got my persuader mossberg & rifle.
Have one of these I bought used probably 15 years or more ago. Went into a little gun shop and the guy who ran the place, just did not like plastic guns, so go a great deal on it. It still runs perfect and I dont like finger grooved. Glad the Gen 5 did away with the finger grooves. Through a trade I acquired a G43 recently and love it, very slim design. I have other pistols that are better looking but if I was grabbing one for serious work, probably be my Glocks.
Very hard not falling in love. The 19 may be the best all around pistol, plus the Gen2 to Gen5 I don't think it makes much difference. Thanks for the view Dan, UGD
I have a Glock 23 Gen 2 and it fits my hand well. I have small to medium size hands. It was a LEO trade in and cost me $325 plus $20 for shipping. I plan on having the slide Cerakoated.
Question: that half moon cutout on the frontstrap, is there a way to cover that pinky killer? Is there a brand/maker of a magwell for my old beloved G23?
I'm am no Glock FanBoy, but they did change the gun world for the better and they run like a clock. The 19 is truly a Jack of all trades. Thanks for the view dmxx, UGD
Jus picked up a g19 gen 2 barrel has wear on the outside but inside rifling looks like new was dirty from previous owner but cleaned it up doesnt look too bad spent around 350 with 2 mags hope i didnt spend too much
I just grabbed another 1990 gun. Original “black” internals and a 1988 manual. The older g19’s with two letter prefixes are worth more and should not be upgraded.
No, at least not the Gen 2 pistols. Factory-option night sights didn't come until 2003 (five years into Gen 3 production and if I'm reading the serial number correctly in this video this pistol dates to April 1995). They're Glock-branded but made by Meprolight. The night sights on the pistol in this video are aftermarket, Meprolight Tru Dots.
But as far as they are made. Very well designed compared to newer gens. I know some one selling a g2 19 for 300 I'm debating it. Good price. Got my gen5 26 other day and was disappointed in quality after comparing it to my other gens. Seems like the newer gens are rushed during production. Don't have that lure that got me hooked on Glocks in first place, but that's only with my USA gens. My Austria ones are beautiful what gives???
That just tells me there too many Glocks out in the wild. I was looking in the "parts box" and I have a OEM Glock rod and spring, no idea how it got in there. Thanks for the view, UGD
A viewer talked me out of it. One of those guns, the moment I sold it, I regretted it. Only one way to fix, buy another Gen 2 19. And this week I bought a Gen 2 17. Thanks for the UGD
What's top value? I'm an original owner of a Glock19 Gen 2, serial number BDK (which I understand to be Glock code for April 1992) with 2 stock mags (both 15+1). I've never carried this one and literally less than 200 rounds through it.. definitely 'excellent condition' to say the least. I still have the tupperware style case, loader and receipt, etc. Anybody know what the top value would be for it? Thanks
I will say, i've seen people asking for prime examples like that 600-700 with a tup case etc. Not saying that's what they get, but the listings i've seen usually don't resurface so either they kept them or sold em. I paid 410 for my Gen 2 19 in very good condition, no damage/scratching etc (no case however) in 2016 and I haven't carried anything else since. Randomly found it at a shop and always said I would buy one if one fell into my lap for a good price since most of the ones i saw were either beat up or excellent but high price. I like it even more than my Gen 4 and gen 3 i used to have. Great guns and getting harder and harder to come by
Bought mine brand new in 1994. Still have it. My favorite of all.
Ditto!
Bought my gen 2 Glock 23 in 1990 still looks new 👍🏾👍🏾

I sold the Glocks in the 90s for LEO and Military only. I ran thousand of rounds through 22, 23, 17 and 19. Still waiting on my 1st stopage. UGD
Only 2K?
They had it right all along with the Gen 2.
It doesn't have a rail
I agree with both of you gen2 is my fave itf gen 3 would have just had the rail and that be the only change then it would have been the perfect Glock to me not the perfect pistol but the perfect Glock for sure
@@JK20239 I just added a rail from Amazon then the new olight balder. Works great.
@@dkveracity65able You can add a rail to a gen2 19?
I have one that I bought used, in excellent condition, BOD, 7/94 same as my daughters birthday. This will be her gun.
Great find...I love a gun with character marks
I just bought one. Called Glock and they dated it December 88. Took it apart to see if it had the original parts or the replaced parts and found the factory lube still on the slide.

Cool to have an old Glock. Love the gips of the Gen2. UGD
I just picked one of these up. Can’t wait to get it to the range.
Just found a Lnib for 399, 1995. Couldn’t say I’ll take it any faster.
Can not go wrong. Gen 2s just feel right. UGD

You lucky dog you! Awesome score Brotha 🇺🇸♥️💯
Bought mine in 91, still a smooth to shoot.
Just got my 19 today with lone wolf barrel upgraded sights lightweight

From what I've seen, yes. Thanks for the view, UGD
My old 23 can still mag dump as ever with orange follower g5 mags.
I think the original did not have a captured guide rod
