I searched up "how i became an er doc" and found this video. I'm 23, I just got my EMT license and am feeling inspired to go all the way with medicine! I never thought I could become a doctor... never thought myself as a school person, I come from a poor background... but now, I'm saying WHY NOT TRY! God bless you man, I really want to believe in myself as I try to pursue medicine. Even if it's not becoming a doctor, I know medicine will have a place and purpose for me!
congrats on your journey and thank you for sharing! i’m studying for the mcat now and it gets hard to stay motivated at times especially with everybody making videos about how they are quitting residency. this gives me some hope lol
Thank you for this helpful video! I am in my 4th year of med school. Currently considering FM/EM dual certification. Thank you for sharing your story. You've got a new subscriber :)
Congrats doc! I'm an M4 dual applied EM and PMR and need to submit my rank list soon so been thinking a lot about the two fields. Loved my EM rotations but not sure if its sustainable in the long run so also applied to a more life style friendly specialty although not as interesting/exciting as EM. Will need to come to a decision soon! Thanks for shedding some transparency and makings videos and glad to see you're happy and have a good work-life balance
I’m in the middle of making a decision. I’m 39 basically at the age where I’m starting over. I’m a EMT currently. Deciding on going to become a nurse practitioner. But becoming a ER DR has been on the back of my mind. Figured, why not?!? I got all the time in the world plus Incan help more! Advice?
Dope! I think it depends on your personal situation. For ER Dr, your looking at taking prerequisites (undergrad), MCAT, med school then residency, so you're looking at at least 9 years. You can also consider becoming a PA where you can become an ER provider in half the time

Appreciate you! Yeah, my goal is to put out as much transparent content about the field as possible. More to come!
