    The Morin Khuur is so haunting and beautiful I am surprised more Western classical musicians are not performing and writing for it. The Hu Band may popularize the Morin even more.

      Hi, i’d just like to say “Mor” means “horse”, “-in” means “ ‘s” and “khuur” means “fiddle” so if you want to use it in its short version, “khuur” would be better. Have a good day!

      Dulguun Duurenjargal this is not justMongolian instrument (like throat singing) this is a Turkic and Mongolian common product

    I can't believe this doesn't have more views. Honestly you two are amazing. I haven't played a bowed instrument before, usually didgeridoo, woodwinds, and various stringed instruments. How difficult is it to learn to use the bow properly?

    wow! It's Mongolian national musical instrument "Morin khuur" with 2 strings and horse head.I think only Mongolians can throat singing,but you guys so amazing!

      urangoo oyun, Not only mongolian nations throat sing. Other steppe nomadic nations as kazakhs, yakuts, khakasses, altai people and some others do that also

      @@lorriemiller6750 cant forget the dead cultures like the germanic tribes of roman and post roman europe infact id go as far to say most nomadic animist tribes practiced some form of throat singing it only makes sense as throat singing originated as a ritualistic thing and quickly evolving to what it is today

      Very interesting Instrument. Some kultures in Mongolia habitat and Moorin khuur is from the Biggest Imperium of history.

    Very nice, all the songs you played are spot on. Not only for the playing put also the singing. Great job, it amaze me really tat the vocals is almost exact the same as I have heard from Mongolian singers. Where did you learn it that well? I am trying to do some throat singing but this is really amazing all those different songs.

    I watch this video once every week or two and I cannot understand how to make such high notes with throat singing. I know its the resonance from the shape of the mouth, and I play khomus/vargan so its probably fairly similar in that regard. Do you have any tips for making the overtones louder?

    Is it possible to switch the male and female string the other way around for a left handed player? As in, is it difficult to restring a Morin Khuur? Do you have a HOW TO video anywhere of re-stringing?
