I got mine a month ago after I built my personal gaming PC. I was supposed to get the Nitro+ but the last one remaining on the shelves have been reserved and the one I saw cheap posted in the FB market have been bought after I contacted the seller for a fast transaction when it was posted. I was intentionally getting the RX 6950XT but someone manage to beat me to it and have no option or a choice left I was given an option to pick either both brand new Sapphire or the Gigabyte version. I choose the Sapphire Pulse over the Gigabyte version. I must say I love my Sapphire RX 7900 XTX Pulse to what ever games I throw at it at 1440P it just wreck the shite out of them

You are correct, but to be honest the release price for the 6800 xt and the 3080 looks really good compared to what we have now. I'm not sure who is inflating the prices, the AIBs or the stores that sell them.
Nah it isn't. Nitro is quieter, has better quality fans and has better cooler. Its bit like going with cheap air cooler vs Noctua. Sure, maybe you're fine with the louder cooler, but I personally would always pick the model with better and quieter cooler.

Hey nice review, I have the nitro+, I experience the same temp delta as you, it's not a sample issue, I believe it's the vapor chamber design carstristic, it swings alot from 75 to 87
It's power density, and it's normal, AMD cards report highest probe while nvidia cards report an average hotspot temp which is lower than highest probe.

I currently own the RX 6800 XT 16GB but modded Skyrim with Eldergleam modlist heats it up to 90 degrees Celsius which is not safe at all. I believe that the RX 7900 XTX Nitro+ will do a much better job.
I see @ 07:01 that fan speed is 58%...then when you compare the Pulse the fan speed is 70%..so yeah that is making more sound I can understand. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Yes, in order to cool the card during intense workloads the Pulse needs to increase fan speed, and these leads to noise. As expected though as the Nitro+ has the better cooler
I just bought a used Sapphire Pulse RX 7900 XTX for 694 euros! Maybe I should have checked my PSU before hand, before jumping in :) . Anyone got tips on which make/model of PSU they have their Sapphire Pulse RX 7900 XTX running on?
I'd recommend a minimum 850w PSU, check on the internet for PSU Tier List and make sure to choose one from the Tier A list. Look for the one that has the best price in your region and suits your needs.
All partner model 7900 XTX and XT cards are very high quality. They're more consistent in build quality (VRM design, cooler quality, etc) than Nvidia cards are across the different variants. Basically, you just want to buy the one that looks good to you, has lower fan noise, or is the best price, but you really can't go wrong with any of them. Just don't buy a reference card.
@@BrotherYusuf I have a Gigabyte 4090 but I'd suggest an MSI or ASUS. Gigabyte cut some corners on the RTX 4000 line like missing fuses on the power rails.
It difference will not change. The games that can push the GPU to reach 460w+ will have the same lead. But this margin can be mitigated by the undervolt, so it depends a lot on the luck you have with the silicon. I still stand by my statement that the Nito+ is one of the best 7900 XTX and it's better then the Pulse, now you decide if the price difference is worth the gains or not.
@@casuallygamin9 I still don't get why Sapphire is still considered 'best' by community, your nitro+ got huge delta, which is not making problems but still, its 30c. I have 6650 XT pulse which at stock settings gets up to 65-70 edge up to 95-100c junk, @ 2200-2400rpm, and those terrible fans make really bad noise after 1.9k rpm, similar like your 7900xtx pulse. On most techpowerup thermal test sapphire is behind hellhounds and asrock phantoms, even asus tuf win sometimes, must admit tho sapphire cards are one of the best looking ones for sure. Luckily i could UV mine from 1200 to 1060 and underclocked by 50mhz, now its chillin at 1350rpm with reasonable temps 60/65 -80/85
I think in US they have great support and for their build quality. Performance wise, to me, these cards don't stand out. When it comes to noise, these are ok. I found the Aorus a bit better when it comes to coil whine andnoise on high RPM, but those don't need to spin that much to keep the card cool

It goes by default, have a look at the 420w fan speed in outcast 2. If it's getting hot, tweek a bit the fan curve. I would bum it to 80% if the GPU temps cross over 75. Mind you that at 80% the fans are loud. Do this only if the gou gets toooooo hot.

My power supply doest have 3 separate cables, they 2 cables split in more 2 heads, having 4 in total, but the same cable split in 2. Can I use it normally?
I would expect the XFX to perform better as it has the same power limit as the Nitro+. Also, as far as I saw, I was researching if I should buy it or not, the cooler is better then the one on the Pulse, but you have to adjust the fan curve as it can be loud. The Pulse can be loud as well at high RPM so I would say the the XFX is a bit better tehn the Pulse.

Both are good for CS2 as these are overkill for 1080. When it comes to overclocking I would say that it depends a lot on the silicon lottery. I would say that the RTX 4080 can be undervolted better, but again it depends a lot on the luck you have with your GPU. Get the one that makes more sense to you.
:))). Well this is why it's called silicon lottery. You could get a lemon or a golden sample, that will be worse or better when it comes to undervolting/overclocking
All cards will exhaust hot air, so it will warm a bit the room. I believe more the Pulse, but by a small margin. If left by default, there will be no difference
You're converting electricity to heat, different cards have no to little effect, if heat is an issue look for chips with lower TDP, something around 150-200w max, also you can always underclock and frame cap during the hot days and use it as an auxiliary hitter during winter!
Thank you for review. Pls explore Undervolting more to see how to reach stable work with minimal FPS loss...AMD cards in stock are still power hungry, more than Nvidia. Also pls can you test w/o RTX as I was first surprised by FPS for AW & CP in your charts.... IMHO - this is the proper way to test nett performance for both AMD & Nvidia
In the future I will add games without RT as well, as others requested this. Undervolting is tricky, what may go well for one GPU, may not work for others.
Undervolting can be done on basically any card. Question is how much you can shave off. With Amd it is usually like this -you loose 3-8 FPS , but also get 5-10C on GPU and 15-45W of power off which, imho, is a nice bonus. Thanks for reply !@@casuallygamin9
You should not lose any FPS if undervolting and keep the same frequency. But some cards my do better then others, even though these are the same model.

I didn't test those 2 RTX 4080 but those should perform the same. Now, it depends on the price. It think if the 7900 xtx is 150 EUR/USD cheaper, that is the better choice. If the price is less, then you need to consider what type of games you like to play and if you want to enable max settings with RT. In most games the 4080 is a bit ahead, when it comes to RT, but there are the Nvidia games where RT is designed around the Nvidia GPUs and, in those, the AMD card is in a big disadvantage ( Cyberpunk 2077, Ratchet and Clank, and a few others).
The 1000w will be better for the long run, I would say a minimum of 850w is better dor a 7900xtx. Make sure to buy a good PSU, as this is quite important, search on the net for the PSU tier list.

I think that it AMD cards can be good at Ray Tracing. As most games are tailored to work better with RTX, this creates a even bigger gap in performance when it comes to Ray Tracing, in some cases.
Who cares about that unfinished alpha state feature which doesnt even make a noticable difference? Only pathtracing looks good and even the 4090 needs to use upscaling to run it. Dont go full clown mode bro..
After getting an Nvidia for raytracing, I can definitely say that I use it extremely seldom, and in many games that have it, I just turn it off because it's not noticeable while costing a lot of frames.

3000mhz, 1100 core, +15 power, 2400 mhz min frequency, 2514 mhz memory. Keep in mind that not all cards are the same.

Pretty easy to choose the 7900xtx over the 4080. 24gb vram is a way better deal compared to only 16

It is a really good card, cool and quiet. You can increase the power limit and it is still quite.

Use 3 cables as this will be the best, regardless if one splits into 2 cables

Both are good for CS2 as these are overkill for 1080. When it comes to overclocking I would say that it depends a lot on the silicon lottery. AMD cards are not g sync compatible, these have freesync
