Same crap happened to me today. I just picked up My 2023 Model3 from the dealer and literally 25 miles later going 80mph on the freeway fast lane i got the same message my car went limp. I thought we would crash. My 12 y.o daughter was hysterical crying. Had to call Tesla to tow it. Thinking of suing them for endangering us-could have been killed or seriously injured us or other cars.
Sad to say this has happened to me also. The day after I picked up my 22 Model Y it happened while in a line of traffic at a medical center. Plenty of angry people but not dangerous. Had the car towed to Tesla and they replaced a VC controller. Picked the car up and the next day the same thing. This time in very heavy highway traffic with no shoulders. Plenty of angry people and this time it was dangerous. Towed to Tesla again. So far I've owned the car the two weeks. I have maybe 20 miles of driving in it. I am very nervous about what happens next. I know many thousands of people have no problems at all with their Teslas. I am not moving against the company because of this. But I am wondering about this car.
Hey man, I have the same thing happened to me. I am currently in Cambodia. My car was imported from Germany. We don’t even have a service centre here so now the car is just sitting in a garage and the mechanic couldn’t figure out. What is wrong with it. @@Vannvann18 Was your car under 4 year warranty? or it crossed first 4 year and still under 8 yrs battery/motor warranty? Did you ended up paying out of pocket? If so how much did it cost?
Happened to me with a new Model 3 purchased last week, 8 minutes after leaving the dealership I got this error message and the car stopped working, was stuck on the side of the highway.
Happened to our one month old 2023 Model Y as well, a frustrating experience, got the car back after they replaced the whole rear drive unit. make sure to report your incident to NHTSA so that other customers can be saved from this bad experience.
That could have been a disaster. Thank god the highway was not busy and a lot of speeding traffic. Going into neutral while cars are going 70 or 80 could have got someone killed! Glad no one was hurt!

To be completely honest.. its kind of gimmicky as auto pilot at the moment has so much phantom braking on city streets. On the highway however performs with perfection. But i will add that looking at the FSD beta videos, it gives me lots of hope that the 10k is well spent in the future. To answer your question, its not worth at the moment but 100% will pay off with a little bit of patience :). Just my 2 cents as a new Model Y owner with FSD.
No, honestly I was nervous trying it on the test drive. I probably will regret not getting it down the road. Even at $8k seemed steep for something I may not use all the time. Would have rather got the performance over the FSD :)
@@TeslaHo thanks for the input, I ordered one already and waiting to see so far i didnt add it but its something i can add later on and ill see before it gets more expensive
Hey bro sorry to hear about your experience but i do have a question though. When you lost power on the freeway and couldn't accelerate, how was you able to pull over? Was the car slowly slowing down? Im just curious for the future incase someone does run into the same situation.
Same thing happened with me(low power, went through the same routine, no help from Tesla. Tesla just crawling(0.01 gear!). Home only 0.5 mile away. As soon as I turned into my drive way full pawer back and my Tesla model S flew like James Bond’s car tearing the garage door and concreat and brick wall of the house. No help from Tesla, not even recognition of the problem. Insurance totaled the auto with minimum compensation! I am grateful to Allmighty God no one was killed on road. Please if you get this no power or Low power, just leave the car wherever you are, it is a Time Bomb.
Omg I’m so sorry this happened to you. Your right thank God no one was injured. This happened to me last night we tried everything to make the car move. Nothing worked. Will have to have car towed to Tesla on Tuesday (model S)

That error BMS_170 means you have and error with the Battery Management System
They also replaced the 12v

No Renton was the closest but I did pick it up from Bellevue.
Ours went to Nashville
I’m experiencing the same thing here.

it basically was in neutral, so just pulled over safely right away.
What was the point of this video??
Exactly
Such a bummer. Definitely interested to find out what happened! Maybe they'll just give you another one.
I don't think I'll get a new one....but I'd take it if they did :)
read the little text at the top "BMS_a710"
To put it simply there is a problem with your battery management system
