How to Make Cold Brew Tea with Tea Bags - Cold Brew Tea Bags - Simple & Easy

- Hey tea people! It's time to make cold brew tea with tea bags. When I make cold brew tea I typically use loose leaf tea because I tend to have way more loose leaf tea, but in this video I show how I normally make cold brew tea with tea bags. It's effective and simple. This isn't the only way to make cold brew tea with tea bags though. Definitely feel free to experiment with the tea bag to water ratio and length of time in the refrigerator. I like to make my teas stronger so I may use more tea than normal but it's easier to make a strong tea weaker with more water than trying to make a weak tea stronger.

4 cups, 7 bags, 1 and a half cups, 4 bags...for our metric girlies like me. I loved this video! Thank you so MUCH ✌❤🇨🇦 I decided to make some Japanese green tea and this video was so helpful. New subscriber.
Have seen many instructions for making tea. At 63, I just started drinking it. Tried your way once and found to to be delicious! Your video on how to was great!! Thanks, have a gallon of water now waiting for the bags tonight!
Thank you! It came out great!
This is so much easier than other methods. Thank you for sharing..
You’re welcome, I’m glad you found it useful! Cheers! 😄
I just purchased from Amazon the Altura cold brew filter/strainer that firs inside a 64-ounce mason jar. Smaller ones are available also. You can use looseleaf or tea bags in the filter cylinder and then just pull it up when the cold brew is ready. The jar lid can still be screwed on with the filter inside the jar. Thank you for this video.
Well done. Great instructions!
Thank you for watching and commenting that it was well done. That's awesome. I definitely aim to make my videos informative. Glad you enjoyed it! Cheers!
Thanks for the break down water to tea bag ratio. I'm going to do this tonight, for iced tomorrow.
You’re welcome, thanks for watching! Hope you enjoy your cold brew. Cheers!
@@TeaReviewinTwo I certainly did!
Hey Avrin! This is awesome, thanks for sharing! I've been doing cold brew in Mason jars for quite a while. I usually use two tea bags though and I'm thinking I should use your method! It would definitely make if more flavorful.
Hey LaNae! You’re welcome, thanks for watching! I find the mason jars very useful and they also look nice. How many ounces of water do you typically use for the two tea bags? I definitely tend to use more tea than standard though especially for tea bags.
@@TeaReviewinTwo I usually fill the jar and its the same size you use. Some of the teas taste a bit weak so I think I'll try your method!
Thanks man!
You’re welcome! Cheers!
Thank you i needed some iced tea
You’re welcome, thanks for watching! Cheers!
Thanks for these instructions. I like mason jars, too and I've just started drinking cold brew. I definitely think it is smoother, and I've been struggling with the tea to water ration. 3 bags per 4 oz sound like a lot, but I think it will do a good job and I'm going to experiment with that. Also, I have to admire how clean your refrigerator is - but I think you definitely need someone at home to cook for you! LOL!
You’re welcome! Thanks for watching the video. Those mason jars are very convenient with cold brewing tea bags. And the fridge haha, I took some things off that bottom shelf to put the focus on the cold brew but you’re right I do need some more food and cooking going on. I do most of the cooking for myself unfortunately haha, it’s ok though I enjoy it when I have time. 3 tea bags per 4 ounces seems like it would work well also, especially for blends that are less flavorful. Hope you’re enjoying your cold brew! Cheers!
It will balance out when you pour ice on it.
That’s a beautiful golden color.
Yes, indeed it is! 🤩
Here is another question - Can you mix loose tea say Gunpowder Green Tea with Herbal Tea bags - what combinations would you recommend? I use quart jars so could suggest how much of loose and how bags you would use
How many days can this be stored in a fridge and remain fresh??
Why a lid with no plastic for cold brewing? I use a glass lip with a plastic seal
i love your nice country voice
Because the tea bags soak up some of the water while it's brewing, should additional water be added when the brewing is finished? Also, I've seen some videos that use a French Press and using the plunger to press the tea leaves further. Is that a recommended part of the process?
Hey there, good questions. I don’t add additional water unless I want to take some of the strength away from the tea. However, I do sometimes squeeze the teabags when I’m removing them from the cold brew after I’m finished brewing it. Starting at 4:18 on this video, I mention that part of the process. Hope this reply helped, cheers! 🍃🧊
Do you specifically have to use cold brew teas or could you use like hot brew teas too?
Good question! You don’t have to use only tea labeled as cold brew tea, you can definitely use regular tea that you would hot brew. I mainly use regular tea that I would normally hot brew for my cold brew tea. Cheers!
Could you add hot water instead of cold - I mean would you get more benefits or flavor and then drink cold the next....wanting to drink more green tea and I think I will if it is cold - just wanting to make sure the benefits are there from cold brew instead of hot...
Cold brew is less bitter.
Cold brew tea uses a lot more tea than the traditional method. That can get very pricey.
What if I want my tea sweet. How and when do I add the sugar?
Good question, I would recommend adding any sweetener after the tea has infused and the tea has been removed. I think a simple sugar combination of water & sugar works fine and if its warm it will blend easier. Hope this helps, cheers!
I want to cut caffeine, so I start to drink tea.
That’s a good way to cut caffeine and yet also get a nice small amount, or also close to none at all if you have decaffeinated tea. Either way, hope you’re enjoying tea, cheers!
One teabag works for me. I started with two.
Nice, that’s one of the neat things about tea and cold brewing, there can be variations of what works well for different people.
Glass is best
Yes indeed, I agree. Cheers!
I don't find the cold brew gets near strong enough for my taste I like my tea pretty sweet and I use granulated white sugar and no matter how long I start it or let it set the sugar never resolved into the tea leaving the tea tasting grainy.
Cold tea is fine if you like a weaker tasting tea. Most of of folk's from the South (not all) prefer a stronger sweet blend of our iced tea. Most of us were raised from our baby bottles drinking our tea this way.
I know now days we know better than to
Put sweet tea in our babies bottles. Back when I was little we live by back in the country and didn't have much access to juices for babies as we do today. So in the hot summer days many babies wouldn't drink water so for hydration we were fed sweet ice tea.
I thought this was best to add before those who wanted to tell me sweet tea wasn't good to give babies, how bad it is for their tea and risk of diabetes.As. I said we know better now days.
Make a simple syrup at home to avoid the sugar granules at the bottom. Or add sugar first with 2 tablespoons of hot tap water to dissolve the sugar.
I make simple syrup and store in a water bottle and store in the fridge. Using the cap as my measuring tool❤
Hiiiiiii avrin
Hey Kristy! Cheers! 🍵🧊
Yikes 1 tea bag per 4oz means 32 tea bags per gallon!
