We took a Rick Steves tour called Best of Munich, Salzburg, and Vienna in 2017 during Chris than market time and loved it. After the tour was over we took a train from Vienna to Cologne and Strasbourg and stayed a couple extra nights. Those two cities had the best markets! Can’t wait to go back as we are doing an AMA Waterways cruise this December!

There was little content, (in the Netherlands), regarding Christmas markets...were there any markets available? Great music w/vid!

We had the same route as you but it was the last of the cruises for the year. We loved it.

We were on it last year December 11th-18th! Was that the same one as you?

@@hannahbloomlifestyle Our dates were 18-25 December. We thoroughly enjoyed the cruise. Our cabin was 216.

@@franktozier3184were you traveling back to the US on Dec 25? We were looking at a Viking cruise where the last day is Dec 25 and were wondering how traveling back to the US on Christmas is, as well if all the markets and shops were still open on Dec 22-24.

@@photogoon Yes we were. Are you starting in Amsterdam or in Basel? We went north to south. Our European connections were good. A word of warning Charles De Gaul. You have to take buses to and from the aircraft. The only problem we really had was in Atlanta. We had a 3 hour layover with not much heat in the terminal.

@@franktozier3184 how busy were the airports on Christmas Day? I was looking at the one that was the Rhine and Moselle so you start/end in either Paris or Zurich.

How much time did you spend in Cologne? Obviously in the evening...did you have dinner on boat and then to the market?

    • @hannahbloomlifestyle

It was only for a couple hours at night after going to Düsseldorf first in the morning. Not enough time to be honest. We ended up eating dinner in cologne but they do serve dinner on the boat if you stay on

Thank you! Did you cruise the middle Rhine during the day? That is the scenery I am most interested in viewing.@@hannahbloomlifestyle

Nice commentary about the Viking onboard experience - I'm doing the Viking "Grand Tour" cruise in mid November. Just one big favor to ask from you in your future videos...for the love of God will you please turn on your camera's motion correction feature. While the content of your video was fine, the constant herky-jerky motion made me physically ill while watching it.
