Düsseldorf, Germany was our first day trip from our home base in Cologne on our 2023 Christmas Market Adventure. The rail trip was about an hour from Cologne to Düsseldorf, and we used our Eurail Global Pass to book our train tickets..

If you aren’t familiar with Düsseldorf Germany, Düsseldorf is Germany’s fashion Capital and located in the North Rhine-Westphalia state of Germany.
The Düsseldorf Christmas Market is one of the largest and most popular Christmas markets in Germany and comes complete with twinkling lights, a big ice rink, and a giant ferris wheel overlooking the Rhine, all while being surrounded by tons of amazing shopping.
We started at the Schadow Markt and then just one market lead into the next until we ended up at in front of the Ferris wheel.
