I wish we had more regional passenger trains around NZ loved the video,I have been as far as Traralgon on that line, but never to Bairnsdale mainly because most of the trains only run as far as Traralgon you guys are lucky in Victoria and Australia to have alot of passenger trains to go on and so cheap, very cool,I always try to go for a ride when ever we visit thanks for the great watch.

Look at all the old telegraph poles from 44:21 onwards. I know there still plenty left following regional sections, but to see this many, untouched, in suburbia, wasn't something I thought I'd see.
Very enjoyable ride along with train engineer. When you post this is the site of such and such do you mean that train is entering into the municipality of said place or do you mean the one-time place of highlighted mention?
Because they want to standardise the fleet but while the Albury line got specially designed, long-distance VLocity’s for their services, Gippsland got nothing.
@@margaretcampbell2681I thoroughly agree. But on any long journey it pays to bring something extra, even if food is available in a buffet carriage. Years ago I travelled on a 3 day ferry through the Philippines. Everything was good except the food, which was deplorable. The complete epic. Passing through some of my favorite rural areas and with beautiful sky progression.

It’s funny seeing the train go past my own station 🎉. There were so many people who thought skyrail would be bad. They were very wrong in my opinion

Very sad they've taken the N-class off the Bairnsdale service, it is so much better for such a long trip than the VLocity.
