It always perplexes me as to how far away the Shepparton Stabling Yard is from Shepparton Station. If it's that far then it could be a no-brainer to put a Shepparton North station near the yard.
There's a very simple reason why they wouldn't put a Shepparton North station, it's because it's in the industrial part with a few houses nearby. There would be barely any patronage from a Shepparton North station. Even if Shepparton Nth was a residential area it doesn't automatically warrant a station there, because still the population would not be big enough that many people would use it. People need to think and do some basic research before posting. I went on Google Maps and I could see the stabling yard and the surrounding area then I gave you a reply.
I love to watch the fine Australian countryside flashing past. But as an overtaxed Victorian I’ve got to say these country Vline trips show the service is uneconomical. The passenger traffic between Shepperton and Craigeburn (start of the metro service) could be easily done by coach at far lest cost. In time there has to be a Victorian “Beeching” report into uneconomical rail services and action taken to close them.
@@davidholder3207 very incorrect. The cost of replacing the trains with buses is not cheap. The lines would not close as freight still requires them. Each bus costs a few thousand to run and a six car VLocity would require something like 8 or more buses. Economically bad idea to close the train. 👍😀
@@driver667 Very incorrect analysis from someone who benefits significantly from the current Labor run railway system. Its Economics 101 that the cost to run a bus service is cheaper than that of a train. The railway line for freight (wheat/Barley) is a lot cheaper to maintain than for a passenger line. Victoria's main roads have been allowed to deteriorate to 3rd world status whilst money has been poured into a very high cost low use country rail service. I counted less than 20 pax boarding the train between between Shepparton & Wallan. I used to use Pakenham station for travel to the city and witnessed the low use VLine trains to and from Traralgon that stopped there. I've searched for details of passenger numbers on VLine trains but to no avail. Perhaps you can point me to some source that shows passenger usage for the last 20 years.
Well timed. A long trip to watch while listening to the cricket. 😄😁🤩👍

Watching a pair of little dogs this baking afternoon, and we're all relaxing to the dulcet sounds of a V/Locity.

There is talk of 130kph for Mangalore to Murchison East but that won't happen for a while yet. Glad you enjoyed it. 👍😊
