True story, the original reason I watched all of Linkara's videos back when I first found him on TGWTG back in the early days was not only because I liked his content. But specifically because of this episode. At the time the "Last Time" joke went completely over my head and I thought that all of those scenes were from previous reviews that we're part of an on going story arc (this was of course before he actually started doing those). I was an idiot lol
Yes, Linkara, Daredevil's senses are that hyperacute. He can read by running his fingers over newsprint. Most of the other stuff can be explained by his sense of smell. The cheesy mustache could easily be the inexpensive material it is made out of.
I one day want to see a previously on segment that features entirely storyline segments... But edited completely out of context so it LOOKS as random as these gag segments.
I actually did my first episode on "Riffing on the RUclips CC" with 0:00-02:42 Favorite errors: "Assembly of me" and "no one can stop all combined horses", both coming from Angry Joe's lines
In most major cities you can get some New York papers. The New York Times, Daily News at least. The Daily Bugle has often been shown as being either at the same level or even existing instead of The New York Daily News. And it's been seen in Vegas before. Plus, it's been in other series not set in New York. (Man-Thing, Hulk, Howard the Duck, Ghost Rider, Daredevil, Werewolf by Night etc.) at a point in time when they weren't set in New York. Hell, as far back as Amazing Spider-Man #6, Jonah has the money to send Peter to Florida to get pictures of the Lizard and people down there seem to know The Bugle and Spider by their reputation. Spider-Man only seems to have a good rep down there because The Bugle is not only known but despised.
I wonder if Linkara has heard that that urban myth was acyually happening in India... Just curious, since he's a horror fan and that's kinda terrifying
Figures Linkara's BEAR would turn out to be an evil mastermind! After all, few would suspect a simple teddy bear was a master manipulator! Though I imagine that like Dr. Linksano, Linkara managed to convince BEAR to use their talents for good!
It's a very, VERY stupid story written stupidly with ludicrously poor art and sequential storytelling, but for all the jabs about Daredevil's powers through these two issues... yeah, they do indeed work the way that they're presented here, and they always have. Matt's sense of touch is enhanced enough that he can read graphite and ink written on paper, although he's usually depicted as needing to do it with bare hands, unlike when he reads the printout of the map through his gloves, but I let that instance slide for succinctness. And his radar can sense the physical shapes of people and objects around him without them needing to make noise. He has enhanced hearing, of course, but it's entirely independent of his radar (despite what the Affleck movie showed, it's NOT sonar). Really minor thing, but for each aside that's aimed at Matt's senses, I keep wanting to interject and go "Actually..."
Peanut Butter Dimples I mean, I don’t necessarily hate the Ben Affleck Daredevil movie, mainly because of the Kingpin’s actor, and the fact that the movie’s story makes significantly more sense in the director’s cut, but even I think that the way his powers were depicted in that movie seemed slightly stupid, honestly I like the idea of Daredevil, and I am aware that his powers make more sense as depicted in the comics, but that doesn’t really excuse the poor writing of this particular story.
"THIS IS NOT OVER!! BEAR!!" 😁Sorry. Couldn't resist. Seriously, though, the Surgeon General had some potential to at least have a decent, if not poignant backstory. Like maybe she had a child with a heart condition & needed a transplant, but the American healthcare system put them through so much hassle & red tape that the kid died before they could get the surgery in time. Hence she as a surgeon & grieving mother lost faith in the healthcare system & turned towards the black market to do her work, only for her obsession to get out of hand.
reuisu That's honestly one of my favorite things about this show. You start off with an otherwise pointless joke, but with a little bit of effort, it can evolve into a fully fleshed-out character, a dramatic plot point, or anything else you need to drive the show forward. And all through the power of THINKING. Woo!
Ah yes, I remember the DVD. I really like the characters featurette, since I love trivia and the development process. We even get the closest thing to Moarte's back story even though it may or may not be scrapped...and unlike the fanon it doesn't involve dead children :D (seriously, even the one you saw on tumblr has more story in which Moarte has...it's a long story) Also not to self: I'll try to get the 2nd one for my birthday (even if it's in November) because Moarte is awesome! Gotta love the crazy! And I'm just fan girling right now and making comments that go on forever, sorry
I have to agree that the Surgeon General is arrogant as she blatantly ignores legitimate criticism & hypocritically calls the person who points it out arrogant! Of course this follows with my personal mantra that Arrogance is the Bane of Intelligence!
When your Echolocation powers punch you back so hard, start wondering if your use of the power to 'judge' people’s backsides has been too much toll on it!
I would probably feel the same way if one of my favorite youtubers were Missourians. I like the Flash and he’s from Missouri. And there was one issue of Green Lanterns that mostly takes place in Olathe (oh-layth-A”), Kansas which is the town some of my uncles and cousins live in. I was pretty stoked about that.
13:43 The reflection of the doctors are shown from the windowed roof. Daredeil is still falling ahead of spiderman but....... spiderman still looks weird. Maybe he front flipped in through the broken ceiling?
Linkara: "Oh my god! TV Tropes used one of my quotes!"
Me: "As a troper, I approve."
@Arcana IX can I get a link?
I realize I'm pretty off topic but do anyone know of a good site to stream new tv shows online?

The Surgeon General looks like she's wearing a cupcake liner on her head as a hat. :P
For the record: The writer for this comic was D. G. Chichester, who had his first run on Daredevil from #292-309.
Only 17 issues. Not their best work, I’m assuming.
I one day want to see a previously on segment that features entirely storyline segments... But edited completely out of context so it LOOKS as random as these gag segments.
*Linkara:* Kutter, spelt with a K and not a C.
*Announcer:* Because poor literacy is *kEwL!*

I love turning on the CC that don't work
@ 0:22 "angry Joe was walking right into a trash"
ah, this was how i learned of tvtropes, and was forever addicted to it. thanks linkara.

Looks like Daredevil has a crush on the Surgeon General seeing as he said she had a shapely backside.
Daredevil's narration reminds me of when my schizophrenia kicks in...
Hnngh...

Surprised to know that TV tropes was well known in 2009
I am the very model of a savage surgeon general

Spikex1 It broke new ground!

My last name is pronounced "Lions." What are some good programs for starting my career as a super villain?
Animal training? Weight lifting? Get a lion skin suit? Just spitballing here
Intern with Catwoman.
Linkara- Kutter!
Kutter- LinkaaAAAAHH!!!!
Wesley Snipes: SPARTAN!
Stallone: PENIS!
He has heightened sense of smell too, you know. He could probably smell the roach.
Wait, there's a Nurse Insano now? Cool.
How bloody dirty are their storm drains that they smell like sewage?
"THIS IS NOT OVER!! BEAR!!"

The first known appearance of Harvey Finevoice!!!!~ Am I correct on that?
Yep! And nobody really knew a damn thing about him. XD
PS I ordered the DVD

Weeell, sort of pointless, since I had the idea of doing a show with him that never came to fruition. XD

If this was a comic, Linkara would become a terrifying chain-related villain.
Anyone else get the reference to "previously on the Satellite of Love" skit from MST3k?
I have to agree that the Surgeon General is arrogant as she blatantly ignores legitimate criticism & hypocritically calls the person who points it out arrogant! Of course this follows with my personal mantra that Arrogance is the Bane of Intelligence!
I love how Joe pronounces "Link-are-uh"~
2 seconds into the second-hand narration I was ready to click away, but I stuck around to commiserate with yor sacrifice.
"Nice of the comic to remind us we could be doing something better with our time, like going to the bathroom."
Or taking the piss?
I suspected it was bear all along.
The Angry Army stands proud!
Isn’t that what comes before the fall?
@@JaelinBezel
Well yeah, but its better than never standing up at all.
TV Tropes is the most entertaining website ever
The true evil behind the current storyline. Bear!
I had no idea I was doing business with the Surgeon General. Good for me.
When your Echolocation powers punch you back so hard, start wondering if your use of the power to 'judge' people’s backsides has been too much toll on it!
2009 joe is so different. i never watched much of his stuff then
You're Minnesotan!? I'm Minnesotan! I love seeing other Minnesotans in/on things! :D

You know what I think? I think you KNEW there was a bomb inside the chicken puppet!
Unless the Surgeon General is portrayed by Bruce Campbell I'm not interested
Did Daredevil have a nervous breakdown and just decide to start rambling in this comic?
They took my freaking kidney! -Charlie the Unicorn
More classic episodes please, thanks.
13:43 The reflection of the doctors are shown from the windowed roof. Daredeil is still falling ahead of spiderman but....... spiderman still looks weird. Maybe he front flipped in through the broken ceiling?
So was this what launched the whole "marzgurl/linkara" ship?
No, it's actually the sequel. The origin was in an earlier "previously on"-segment.
The previously segments make absolutely no sense and it’s hilarious.
So wait, based on that last part with the SG, was that MEANT to imply she was under mind control or something? It's 90's Marvel, so it's possible.
Well, DD and Spidey are jumping down into the building like that so we can look at Spidey's ass.
Ecco the Dolphin sound effects. Yeeeeesssss
Joe just gets dragged into everything
20:03 Y'know Linkara if Spidey was real he woulld of kicked you in the knads for saying something like that
But he's not, so Linkara's knads are safe for now.
It was a joke
Spidey View
And I ruined it.
That's the joke.
HellChuggapri1 Oh ok
Spidey View
KNOCK KNOCK!!
WHO'S THERE?!
*SHOOT ME IN THE FACE!!!!*
END OF JOKE!
You brilliant man.
6:45 well, you can also become a super hero, Bruce Wayne for example. Wayne sounds like wing, bats have wings.
Omg 11 years ago
I never did trust that bear
"cutter!"!
So that's where the movie got the idea from
Surprised Matt doesn't narrate erotica.
2:31 😂

Too bad organ stealing is no longer a urban legend
