@@borklucianak5966 "Silent Hill f" (stylized as Silent Hill 𝆑 ) is the next entry (Basically Silent Hill: 9" into the main series and is already in production. Check out the trailer for it, it looks amazing. It will be a bit of a departure from the other games, because it's set in 1960s Japan, but some of the original "Team Silent" is working on it and I have high hopes for it. All the other "Silent Hill" games that were announced along with the "SH:2 Remake" are "Spin-Offs" and not canonical to Silent Hill lore, whereas "Silent Hill: 𝆑 " is.
The spin-off games are: "Silent Hill: The Short Message" that was more like a short playable PSA for suicide-prevention that had good graphics, but not a great story and poor execution, and then "Silent Hill: Ascension" (this was a horrible interactive livestreamed choose-your-own-adventure "game" that was more like a limited series TV show, but it was made in a game engine and viewers could vote for what the character did to influence the story, and finally there is "Silent Hill: Townfall" that seems to be a bit better than the last two and is actually supposed to be a full-length game, but not much is known about it.
Don't even bother checking out "Ascension" unless you want to laugh at how bad it is, you can try out "The Short Message" but it got mixed reviews. "Silent Hill: 𝆑 " & "Townfall" are the only ones to look forward to.

@@amaterashort I recall in the first silent hill transmission, they were saying the idea to remake the second game came from the fact that there are plans to make a movie adapting the second game.
It's a little funny for another movie adaptation being the catalyst to finalize some project developments, as even after P.T., Masahiro Ito, the og creature designer(he's helping with monster designs in this game too!), said on his twitter that there were three other silent hill games that were planned but cancelled by Konami.

@@SullyWalt A lot of the updated takes on classic tracks. There’s several variants to Betrayal on the soundtrack, Promise is a big one…fully hear Theme of Laura…Heaven’s Night. I’m vibing off the atmospheric music too. I’ll be playing this game 100% with headphones on
That's a brilliant title. When I heard it I thought it had to be a recomposition of 'Betrayal' from the original soundtrack.
When people say that this remake looks like a resident evil remake, they’re right but this trailer highlights the real different between silent hill and resident evil. So much more emotion and bunanity compared to back flips and one liners

Apparently 35-40fps at native res with FSR quality if you don't touch the settings, 45-60 if you set it to performance. It is FSR 1.0 though so it might be a little too fuzzy for the performance gain.

Man, imagine if this game sells extremely well, it’s already getting great reviews btw, and Konami and Bloober team announce a special thank you to all fans for their support and announce a new game they are both hard at work on. Silent Hill 1 remake! I think my head would explode. 😂

This game will essentially make or break Bloober Team. Since the first teaser was released at Transmission 2 years ago, a lot of criticism was a made against Konami for choosing Bloober Team to helm the remake given the mediocre track record over Layers of Fear and Medium. Bloober Team, however, acknowledged the criticisms and understood that taking on such a big project meant they had some pretty big shoes to fill. They have shown to be listening to fans and I do believe they deserve a chance
If you really do believe they deserve a chance, maybe start by writing their company name correctly? Just a thought.
While maybe their games didn't reach universal critical acclaim, for me and many others they were excellent and unique. They are just not for everyone, which is true for Silent Hill as well, so I'm positive choosing Bloober Team was a good decision. Let's not kid ourselves, the old Silent Hill titles would be called "mediocre" by the popular vote as well, if gaming was so popular back then with the market oversaturated and the gamers so toxic as they are now.
Blooper team do not have a mediocre track record. The criticism was always exaggerated. And this won't make or break them despite some wishing weirdly for their demise.

So many things to unravel. I love James's expressions. I like how you included the noose scene too, quite blurry, but imma have to go and see a comparison between the the old version now.
I also can't help but notice how the fight scenes were juxtaposed with Eddie's monologue. Its like the two have anger issues. The same kind of person. But they'll both choose their own paths. Its just sad to see James's sad expression, like he feels compassion for him, for Angela too, but they're all broken people and met at the worst possible time and cannot possibly try to help each other. Its just kinda sad to think about it.

@EPOC903 I already played the original game more than a decade ago as a kid. I already KNOW the full story and what will happen in this game. I'm now a full grown adult with a paying job who paid twice for this game because I CAN AND LOVE IT!!!
@bayronardon5457 You are absolutely right!!! It's because THIS IS Silent Hill 2 and it is very special to me for so many years since playing the original game. I love this title WAY TOO MUCH! So I bought it on 2 platforms to enjoy. PS5 for big TV 4k enjoyment and for my Steam Deck to play both at night in the dark, in my room with no lights on, and to use my Sony Ultwear Bass headphones. This remake is true a gift for all fans of pure nostalgia for SH2 and a true love letter/ game to all of us who share and appreciate this new remake coming soon! Cheers to all who love this title as much as I do!!!

I was very harsh on this game initially, and some of the early stuff they showed didnt look very good... But they LISTENED! This trailer and the story trailer before it have made my opinion completely 360, and I think they might have actually pulled this off!

The atmosphere is so stellar
This game is incredible!
But for people who suffer from severe traumas or similar to the characters in the game, this game becomes a nightmare, revealing nuances and wounds to the player.
It was always my favorite game, until life hurt me and marked me to the point where I feel the game in my soul while I play.
I looove how Theme of Laura contains a fragment of the first Silent Hill theme. Is so epic. It would be great that all the series games had that ost in some song.

The game looks amazing but, If I had to fix just one thing it would be the fog. In the first game the fog moves with the wind just like in real life, that makes it feel like the outside is cold and is affected by the weather, but in the remake the fog looks more like a smoke machine or a smoke grenade, just sitting there.
It's been shown, in some gameplays, that the weather and fog are gonna change at some points, for example, the fog being strongly pushed by the wind or some raining.

Much better already! It is clear that work has been done on the psychology of the main character. In the first videos he seemed a little hysterical, but in this trailer he already appears as a person tired of everything. Tired even of fear, of remorse... I like it 👍

Silent Hill 1 remake would be much harder to make. Hopefully this one will succeed, that will open a huge window of opportunity for the series.
Would it though? I think SH1 would be easier to remake since the atmosphere is more straightforward; just make it visceral, gothic, and as dark as possible. SH2 is harder because everything in it is symbolic and requires a lot of intricacies to preserve.

I'm speechless. I've been playing this series since I was 12, I've been a fan for 20 years now. Bloober is the first team to be on par with the original team silent. I think that this remake might objectively even surpass the original. This looks like insanely good, it even looks like a game developed internally by Konami. The reviews are so positive, both from the press and the players, that it might even become one of the best survival horror games of all times.

They loved it graphically but didn't like the gameplay footage showing it become more combat heavy turning James into delta force. I think they're coming around though
There were a lot of skepticism around what the quality of the game would be like, based on Bloober Team's past projects like The Medium and Blair Witch, and the first gameplay reveal trailer didn't inspire much confidence either. So, I wouldn't call it "hate," just people being justifiably worried that a beloved classic might get ruined. But I'm glad that's not the case!
Cause the early combat footage looked terrible in the gameplay and visuals. Bloober's prior games also didn't instill confidence that they could handle the tone and atmosphere of it. I'm glad to see they proved me wrong.
