Remember that the entry must be between 1,000-3,000 words.
Thank you! I absolutely didn’t remember 🙄
Any other rules?
I'm so excited about this week's prompts! (Please, please keep the guest prompt-makers coming... 🙏)
Thank you!! I love these weeks prompts... I'm going to try to write as many stories as I can for this week!
Why write if it costs money to enter?
All contests should be free for the first round. Subsequent rounds should be using your entry from round one.
If you don't make it to round two, okay, no cost.
I am VERY excited about this opportunity! Thank you! I have a question about the rain prompt. Do you mean something in the story is ‘like rain’ or there being signs or puddles from rain? Thanks for clarifying! ❤️
for Shaelin, I'm going to enter for the first time ever. Watch out world🤪
You better keep your five dollars lol
@@hellopumpkin86 cope
So now the contest costs $5 to enter per story. Is this going to continue or are there going to be any free contests in the future?
I have an idea for an interesting situation that would go well for prompt #3, but I have no idea what story goes in that situation.
It frustrating because I've been thinking about it off and on few months.
Very inspiring prompts. All of them.
I quit submitting to this contest. WHY? Two reasons. No one can answer my question regarding HOW the judging is done. Additionally, I've submitted material to REEDSY that I could have submitted to online magazines. Magazines do not accept stories that have been submitted to contests. In my ignorance as a "newby," I did not know the magazine rules. Bummer, because a couple of my stories had potential. A professional editor recommended I submit one of my stories for magazine publication, but I made the huge mistake (again, in my ignorance) of entering that story in the REEDSY weekly contest. Nobody's fault but my own for not knowing the industry.
Hi! You can read about our judging process on our FAQ page: blog.reedsy.com/creative-writing-prompts/faq/ - the TL;DR is that our team of volunteer team of judges shortlists entries each week; then, the Prompts team at Reedsy ranks their top choices and the winner is determined by points/votes.
It's true that some magazines don't accept previously published work (we don't, either!). Publication on your Reedsy Prompts profile may count as prior publication - but you can always delete your story after the contest has ended. There should be no barrier to submitting it to other magazines at that point.
I've read so many of the winning stories and am so intimidated! The winners stories are so good. Im afraid to submit!
You miss every chance you don't take :)
The more you enter, the more your work will be read and critiqued which will help you get better and better. It will introduce you to great writers who will inspire you. Give it a go.
Is it open for contestants from India?
Yes it is!
This sounds amazing! I've always wanted to enter a Reedsy story contest, maybe this is the one for me!
Can we use all the prompts in one story?
I think I already got something...so between 1,000 -3000. I'm excited, you know...
fabulism sounds like a made up word, lol thank you for this opportunity to stretch my mind
Amazing
Isn't there a fee to enter?
In the past, I think it's always been five dollars.
Yes, there is a $5 fee to enter the contest. Else, you can still publish your story for free on your profile, but it won't be considered for the contest.
@@Reedsy yep cause that part was left out of the video. BTW $15 where I come from IJS
Yeah, this information should have been mentioned.
Yes, the rules and costs should be mentioned, or written out in the description.
A writing competition from a company who can’t even make a RUclips post without a host of spelling and grammatical errors…..😂😂🤦🏻♂️
Charging for entry to a competition is nothing more than a scam.
What are you upset about
Actually, don't worry. It's no scam and when you pay a mere $5 there is an explanation why. Why should all the people behind the scenes get nothing out of it. They do tasks in the website, monitor things, give feedback, and do judging. Who do we think we are in this day and age to demand everything for free. And your story will be read by a few even if you decide to post it for free but not enter. Reedsy Prompts are a great help to writers/authors.
😊
Your ad has a typo. LOL
I've just published mine can't wait to see what happens
I like this. I will submit a short story for the first time. :)
whats with the music? So distracting
Her voice... nails on chalkboard.
I worry about a writing teacher who uses "really unique".
they're a fantastic writer, i think you need to do some self work
There is nothing wrong with saying really unique shut up lol
@@lokimiguel2452 There most definitely is. If you don't understand why, you are really the most worst.
@@ianwebling8411 is the most worst ironic lol
